Private Hiking Day Trip to Mt. Longonot from Nairobi
US$104.00
Overview
Climb Mount Longonot and see Lake Navaisha on a private hiking and wildlife tour from Nairobi into the magnificent Great Rift Valley. Enjoying the personal service and flexibility of a private guide, you can set your own pace as you climb the volcano, walk around the crater rim, then explore Lake Navaisha, with the option to book a wildlife cruise on the Rift Valley’s highest lake.
What to Expect
Meet a driver at your hotel for the scenic trip to Mount Longonot National Park, passing through the Kikuyu highlands and stopping for views on the eastern escarpment of the Great Rift Valley.

In Mount Longonot National Park, set out on the 4-mile (6.4-km.), round-trip hike to the edge of the crater, with the option to extend the hike an additional 1.5 miles (2.4 km.), walking all the way around the crater rim.

When you get off the mountain, take a break at Mount Longonot National Park headquarters, before heading to Lake Navaisha, where you’ll have the option to purchase lunch at the lakeside Marina Camp. If desired, book a sightseeing boat ride on Lake Navaisha, where hundreds of bird species thrive alongside a population of hippos. Following your time at Lake Navaisha, this tour concludes with return transfer to your Nairobi hotel.

Amazing Hike! Awesome Experience!

This is one of my favorite hikes that I've ever done. The views are incredible, and the terrain is challenging without being impossibly hard. The mountain is about 1.5-2 hours from Nairobi, but even some of the views of the Great Rift Valley while driving...More

First class day trip from Nairobi

I loved this trip. If you are looking for a gilded safari where you follow lions around in a Land Rover Defender, look elsewhere. This day trip takes you to places where most the other visitors will be locals rather than tourists, and in the...More

Great day out, challenge walk!

Had a great day out walking up my longonot, walk was challenging in the heat but manageable! I would recommend walking shoes/boots as some terrain can be slippy.More
