Day Tour: Giraffe Center, Elephant Orphanage and Nairobi National Park
US$134.00
Overview
There’s no need to leave the city on this Nairobi tour of top attractions. Let a driver handle Nairobi traffic as you relax on your way to the Giraffe Centre, David Sheldrick Wildlife Trust, and Nairobi National Park, where you go on a full-blown 3-hour safari. Plus, going with a guide means gleaning more insight into the city’s history and culture and asking plenty of questions throughout the day.
What to Expect
After getting picked up from your Nairobi hotel, head to the Giraffe Centre to see the nonprofit organization’s namesake creatures in real life. Learn why they are endangered and what the center does to help. End your visit here by feeding the giraffes with the supervision of a trained staff member.

Then, continue to the David Sheldrick Wildlife Trust to see orphaned baby elephants that were rescued and will be released. Your guide tells you how they are raised and reintroduced to the wilderness.

Take a lunch break (own expense), then go to Nairobi National Park for a 3-hour game drive in the middle of the city. Your guide shows you as many animals as possible, like rhinos and lions. A safari van with a pop-up roof makes for easier game viewing than other companies that travel in small cars.

Tour concludes with drop-off at your Nairobi hotel.

What a great experience in Nairobi. We booked rather last-minute, the day before our trip, as we found ourselves in Nairobi with a day-off during a conference. The entire trip was well-organised (even given the short notice) and our driver/guide John was fantastic. The traffic...More

Sammy (or Sam) was the driver and tour guide. He was polite and informative and very professional. All three places visited, the elephant orphanage, the giraffe center and the national park were great. However, the car provided by the company was unacceptable. Old and dirty,...More

It is safe but as with any city you need to be vigilant. I would recommend the full day tour within the city of the giraffe centre, elephant orphanage and national park - all of which are very child friendly. I used Uber to... More
