It is always stressful to plan a trip, especially one that needs a lot of coordination. So glad we didn’t try doing it ourselves and instead chose specifically this tour.

A tour can make a trip great or ruin the experience, and our tour operator Bishoy made it unforgettable. Reading all the reviews, I thought Bishoy/Bee forced people to write them 😂 Upon meeting him, I understood why they are so positive. Bishoy was extremely knowledgeable on Ancient Egypt, his degree in Egyptology definitely helped. But the best part was that he made all the information truly exciting - the rare insights, fun facts, and memorable anecdotes - he is one of the greatest storytellers I have heard. We learned so much during his tours.

Overall - Like other reviewers described, we had long days with very early starts, but what else do you expect when cramming weeks of traveling into 4 days, so be prepared :) We still would do this again, and will highly recommend this tour to others!!!

We flew from Cairo to Aswan. A lot of people in our group took the train instead, but hated their 15 hour journey, so plan accordingly. We were picked up straight from the airport and brought to the ship. Highly recommend going from Aswan to Luxor, as the temples become more and more grandeur with each stop.

We were worried about the ship, but we had a great experience. Big rooms, all overlooking Nile; comfortable beds, delicious food, attentive staff (look at this elephant) and shoutout to Hamada, our waiter, who was exceptional. We even had a night entertainment on the trip! After the trip, Bishoy even helped us with coordination to Hurghada. Truly once in a lifetime trip!

Airport/hotel pickup and drop-off was conducted very efficiently and with ease.

Our guide Bee was with us all 4 days of the trip and was more than happy to accommodate any requests you could have. He is clearly very passionate about the subjects and very engaging with interesting facts at each location. We had a really good time with him.

A few pointers to make the overall experience smoother:
- Bring EGP in cash to save time buying tickets as card machines were slow but were accepted in most places if needed.
- there could have been more efficient use of time travelling to/from locations to give more time for exploration & photos.

Our hot air balloon ride was cancelled due to the weather, however, a refund was promptly offered and bee offered to rebook us on another date if still in luxor after the cruise to try again.

If timing doesnt work out for the itinerary planned to try to include a sound & light show or a contingency to still make use of the day.

Overall we had a great time!

Thank you

This was an incredible trip. Every sight is more breathtaking than the last one, and the mix between the site and the time in the boat cruising a beautiful landscape made for a unique experience.

My highlight was our tour guide Bee. Not only was he knowledgeable and helpful, but he showed time and time again that his main priority was making this trip worth it and the best for everyone in the group. Whether it meant taking extra time, going above and beyond with help on logistics or answering any questions. He also gave great guidance about things like tips, recommendations and helped figuer out fair prices, something that as an outsider is so helpful. In his explanations he mixes a great amount of factual historical facts and information with colourful stories and anecdotes, which helps bring history to life and making one feel like one is right there and then beyond the millennia! If you can book with him, Bee 🐝 is your guy!

The cruise itself was good, perhaps cleanliness could be improved and some of the takeaway meals were not the best... But all in all, none of it took away from what was an amazing holiday

This trip is not what is advertised. It is mainly taking buses or walking to lots of museums. The trip to Abu Simbel took 8 hours for a 30 minute exploration and photo shoot of the temple. We were up at 2 :30 - 3:00 am every morning but then had to wait over an hour for all the people or unknown problems eg bus breakdowns. I didn’t see any of the activities on the boat as I was so exhausted The boat was mainly docked with no views as we were wedged between other boats. At night there was a loud motor hum and the smell of diesel. There were no corona virus precautions. No one wore a mask as we were crowded on little buses or sharing buffet meals. I didn’t enjoy the meals as I was tired. Breakfast on the go was water, bread and a banana. Drinks - including water cost extra as do all the museum entry fees. We were a large group of at least 22 and every museum we had to wait around while we organized our money to pay the entry fee stand in long lines etc. The tour guide did his best to organize the group but we were mainly waiting around in the sun and then he’d say “let’s go”and we’d have to run to catch him. We’d only get about 30 minutes to explore each museum. They were really good but the steps and heat was physically demanding. I really enjoyed the boat the two times it actually left the dock , viewing the local life along the Nile. Allow a few thousand Egyptian pounds per person to cover entry fees and tips for everyone

I’ll preface this by saying that our guide, Bishoy Hakeem (otherwise known as Bee), was fantastic, and the one part of the cruise that exceeded our expectations. He was extremely knowledgeable and a true Egyptologist- of which you find many imitations of but not the real thing. His explanations spanned history, culture, and politics, and he never tired of our endless questions even after his official explanations ended. He was also very friendly, and a huge help in avoiding harassment and extortion from street vendors.

It’s no secret that the sites you visit on this cruise are incredible, but we had many problems with the ship we were assigned to, the Steigenberger Royale. I’d hoped that Mody Egypt would do a better job vetting the boats it puts tourists on.

Our biggest issue was the poor planning and scheduling. On the third day, we were supposed to have two activities, but due to the slow speed of the boat and delays in the sailing time, we were only able to complete one of the scheduled activities. This forced the next day to be that much longer when it was already jam packed full of things to do. Additionally, we had to wake up at 2:30am on the last day, but the night before dinner wasn’t served until 8pm when we had been sailing all day and could’ve eaten and gone to bed much earlier. Activities like traditional Egyptian music and belly dancing were also scheduled on nights when we had to be up very early the next day. We would’ve liked to attend, but sheer exhaustion prevented us from doing so. We might as well have gone however, because we could clearly hear the loud music and stomping in our room below.

The other issue we had was with the cruise endorsing harassment from street vendors. While floating down the river, two small boats pulled up next to ours and attached themselves to us, shouting outside our window, trying to entice us to buy something. When I called the front desk to complain, they completely shrugged off the situation. The vendors even launched their wares onto the deck, hitting people who were not at all interested in making a purchase. Again, the staff did nothing to chase them off. In a place like Egypt where the vendors often aggressively harass you, it’s vital to have a respite on your boat and even more so, in your cabin. Unfortunately, we did not have this.

As a final point, while the restaurant servers and chefs were all very friendly and provided good service, the food could be improved upon. The dinners and lunches are were good enough, but the box breakfasts we received 2/3 days were shameful- all carbs and some pretty gross lunch meat. Not enough fuel for 8+ hours until the next meal! All in all, we do not recommend sailing with Steigenberger if you can help it- instead choose another boat on which Bee works or maybe see if you can take a private tour with him instead.

This was an absolutely amazing time, especially thanks to my family’s amazing tour guide, Mahmoud!! Throughout our time he was our Egyptian expert, and his passion for Egyptian history and culture made our trip. Mahmoud went above and beyond to make our trip the best; he made our plans flexible to give us the most enjoyable time and he helped give us the experiences we wanted when WE didn’t even know what we wanted.

What truly impressed me was his consistent and thoughtful accommodation to one of my group’s knee injury, which hindered how much we could walk in a day at the Temples. He always found us a seat with shade. He is a wonderful guide who will take care of you and your family.

The boat was very nice, and the staff were stellar. However, do know that this trip will require waking up fairly early (before 6am) for almost everything, and there will be a lot of exercise involved.

First time to Egypt and I couldn't have imagined a better experience. Bee was our guide for the duration of this excursion. He was very informative; taking us back into time. His expert storytelling gave me a very thorough picture of what life might have been like in ancient Egypt. Bee was down to earth and very personable. He took the time to answer all of our questions and did so with expert knowledge and humor.

Overall, I loved the trip; however, I have a few suggestions. First, the level of exertion should be mentioned in the description. Each day was jam packed with great activities so it would have been good to know distance and elevation we'd have to endure, as some people in our group had physical ailments that prevented long-distance and/or comfortable walking. Another suggestion would be to avoid SOME of the 'tourist trap' markets. While most of our group expected the hassle and haggle that occurs in these markets, the AMOUNT of markets we went to and the aggressiveness we encountered in a few was overwhelming and began to wear on us as the days went on. Lastly, it would have been nice to know that you have to pay for almost every service like using the bathroom. While Bee mentioned an awesome tipping strategy, many of us were shocked that we had to pay (roughly 5 LE) for almost every bathroom we visited at the historical sites. Although this is out of his control, my advice would be to keep small bills handy.

Again, this was a great excursion and Bee is excellent at what he does! I highly recommend this tour with Bee!!!

This cruise was great for my friends and myself! The early mornings are hard but you get to make the most of your time and see tons of amazing things. The food on the cruise was awesome and they had cheap alcohol so you can enjoy a nice cocktail by the pool. Our guide, Bee, was exceptional. He is very knowledgeable, kind and accommodating with anything you may need during your stay.

We had a through and through fantastic experience on the cruise. The boat was in good condition, the crew was super friendly and food was good.

Initially I was sceptic how many temples one could visit and still find it exciting. But I was completely blown away, every stop topped the one before. And it felt like each place we visited opened a new perspective, each building on one another and forming tangible, fascinating insights into ancient Egypt.

While the boat and places we visited by themselves would have been absolutely worth it already, it was our guide Bee who turned this already great experience into something truly unique. His great organization, in-depth knowledge of history, way of structuring the visits, outstanding storytelling abilities and humor made the tour an experience that we and the other members of the group will never forget.

Thanks so much 🙏

Alright! Alright! Mody Travel delivered on this package deal. Value, customer service, English speaking guides, air conditioned transportation, historians on staff, photos to last a lifetime. There is absolutely no better way than to travel down the Nile from Aswan to Luxor and see every breath taking monument along the way.

This itinerary is for the traveler that wants something that is jam packed with visits/ things to do everyday with some pool time in-between.

If you pieced out everything included in this package garenteed it would cost you way more and you'd only see half these things. Highly recommend if you nervous about coming to Egypt as Mody knows how to host!

PS Mahmoud is fantastic and a truly passionate tour guide.
