Beautiful experience!
This tour was absolutely amazing. Andrea was a wonderful and very knowledgeable guide. The hike is not too long or objectively hard but the altitude definitely gets to you, especially when you’re hiking up hill. So it is important to be in moderate shape and good health to undertake this hike. But the most important thing is to bring water proof shoes or rain boots because regardless of the weather the trail is going to be muddy and wet. The tour starts with a drive through Bogota which allows you to view many different sides of the very large city. Andrea was able to share a lot of interesting and engaging information on the different areas within the city. After the drive you will be invited to breakfast in the home of an indigenous family who farms the land near the entrance of the hike. They are very warm and welcoming and their food is delicious. I really appreciate the fact that this tour is created in partnership with the indigenous community living in the area. This tour is also incredible in the way it introduces its participants to the importance of the unique páramo ecosystem and offers an explanation as to why it is so necessary that we respect and protect the land. This is a once in a life time opportunity and I would definitely recommend this tour for anyone looking for a grounding and genuine experience.

Colombia in his most authentic way!
Juan was just amazing! This tour is absolutely authentic. Far away from all this typical tourism things. Besides that the nature was just absolutely beautiful. You get invited to a local farmer who lives there. He will show you around and do the hike with you. Long story short, I would recommend this tour 100%!

Explore a different side of Bogota from the urban sprawl
I cannot recommend this tour enough. Juan was very knowledgeable about the Paramo & indeed Colombia as a whole. We were three in our cohort & Juan made sure to answer our questions and queries as we went. After our breakfast stop, it's about another 90 minutes until we get to the start of the hike. We met Juan's local counterpart who together with his dog took us up the trail. I wasn't as prepared as I should have been (I only had on rubber trainers, cotton pants, a winter jacket & a hat) plus not extremely physically fit, yet the two guides were extremely accommodating, stopping frequently, pointing out less muddy trails. It helps to bring good hiking shoes & be reasonably in shape, but Juan can customize the trip to all tastes. I wanted the challenge plus it was a ridiculously sunny day so I chose the long hike, but there are other options. All this to say, I am extremely happy I did this hike, I learnt a lot and saw ridiculously beautiful nature only two hours outside Bogota

Best day in Columbia!
Me and my husband joined a few other lovely people to have a day out to see the Suma Paz. It was spectacular, Juan was the best tour guide, explaining everything from nature to the culture of Columbia. We had an authentic incredible breakfast and spent the day laughing and chatting seeing incredible sites. I would highly recommend it. Athena & Fionn from London

Breathtaking Views of Sumapaz
I didn't know what a Paramo was until today. After a seven hour trip to Sumapaz with my extremely well informed tour guide, Juan, I want to see more Paramos. I'd give this experience a 6/5 if I could. A photo will not do Sumapaz justice.

Amazing day trip from Bogota!
We had an amazing day in the Paramo de Sumapaz with Juan. We just asked him via messenger information about the tour, he replied quickly and sufficient on all our questions. During the day he gave us a lot of information about the Paramo and it's environment. We haven't seen any other tourists during the whole trip so that makes it even more authentic. So a really must do if you are in Bogota and want to do something in nature!

Sumapaz/Bocagrande Tour
We really enjoyed the tour with Juan! Unfortunately we had bad luck with the weather - the hiking trail was turning more and more into a creek. So Juan asked us, if we wanted to continue or improvise und drive to an other Paramo. We decided on the latter. Juan was very eager to show us the fauna and tell us all we wanted to know about Colombias both pre-columbian and recent history (including funny anecdotes, like why there are no Coca-Cola-Trucks allowed in the Sumapaz-area :)) The tour included an authentic breakfast. Juan was a really dedicated and funny guide! We had a really good time - although it was raining and freezing :)

Unique and memorable experience
We visited Sumapaz in mid-February and were amazed! We started by enjoying a big, typical Colombian breakfast. On the way there, Juan told us the history of the area and gave us a deeper appreciation for the land. Once in Sumapaz, we were able to experience several unique ecosystems that were all incredible. Juan answered all of our questions and made our experience great! Not to mention that the area was quiet, peaceful, and almost empty of other tourists. I cannot recommend this trip enough as it was one of the best experiences we have ever had!

Highlight of our trip to Bogota!
Our trip to el paramo de Sumapaz was the highlight of my stay in Bogota. It was so nice to experience a part of Colombia that is so rich in both nature and history. Part of the beauty of Sumapaz is the peacefulness. We did not see a single tourist while we were there. Juan was a wonderful guide - he is flexible and wants you to have the best experience possible. I could not recommend Rolombia Trips more!

Amasing day in Sumapaz
My friend and I heard amasing comments about this day trip to Sumapaz and we had to try to go there our last day in Colombia! We just have sent a written message in facebook to Rolombia and everything was set! Juan picked us up in our hostel, was always very nice and friendly and explaining a lot about Colombia history/culture and all about Sumapaz in the day trip. Also it was included a local breakfast (very tasty) as well as some local fruits. Sumapaz is an amasing ecossytem, very beautiful. Juan was stopping very kindly all the time we wanted, he was always very happy to show us everything - an amasibg experience. We will for sure book more trips with Rolombia when we are back to Colombia. Milene and Catia
