This trip was a difficult but fun experience! I highly recommend doing this in Bolivia and booking with Altitude Travel as the bikes they use, the fact we get on the trail before other companies and the expert guides are all excellent reasons. Our guides both called Nelson as well as John the driver made us feel like we were all friends and looked after us.

I had such an amazing experience with Altitude! Oliver, Carlos and our driver took such genuine care of us - making sure we were all safe (an important aspect on the Death Road)! It was well worth investing some extra $, the bikes were of super high quality and they also kept us well hydrated and fed the entire trip.

So glad I decided in this tour last minute. Our guide Nelson was awesome, very entertaining and knowledgeable. The ride itself was a lot more intense than I expected, highly recommend springing for the more expensive bike. I would definitely do this again.

The experience was phenomenal!! Easily worth every penny. If you can afford it I recommend getting one of the more expensive bikes, I got the cheapest one and im sure my knees and hands would've thanked me alot more if I had the bikes with better suspension. The guides Eloy & Carlos were incredible, very informative and made sure we were all safe and arrived at the end in one piece.

This day was a series of bad experiences that were all controllable by the tour group. While we booked for One Death Road, we were actually taken on a tour with Altitude, so I will post this review for both companies.
First, our tour was pushed back by two hours. This created a potential conflict with an existing dinner booking that we had for our last night in La Paz. The office and both tour guides assured we’d make it back to the city in time for our reservation. Not only did we make it back to the city a whole hour later than we were promised, the operators made no effort to get us back in time despite saying they would do everything to make it happen. Not once did they check in with us about this either.
When we first arrived to the mountain, without any explanation, we were given old, front suspension bikes despite the rest of the group having dual suspension. We’re not mountain bikers so we didn’t say much at first. However, as soon as we started on the gravel part, we felt the difference. There was absolutely no shock absorption and we were in immediate pain. There was no forgiveness on the rocks either. In fact, both my partner and I flipped over the front handlebars while not being reckless whatsoever. We confronted them about having these old bikes but they simply laughed and mocked us by saying “sounds like you wanted to save a few bucks”. Yet we weren’t even given an option to upgrade to a dual suspension bike when booking nor did they contact us to let us know about the option. Even so, what sort of company charges extra for safety?
Despite being in the back due to the extreme pain we suffered over the rocks and falling, not one guide checked in with me or my partner throughout the day.
Horrible customer service. Would advice you go with any other company, particularly one that actually prioritizes your safety.

To ride the Death Road is a very nice experience. The Guide was very kind and took a lot of cool pictures and shared them afterwards. But this Tour Operator is way to expensive in comparison to others and the Bikes were not worth it (were quite old and did not work that smoothly, I had to change the Bike two times), they do not offer more than others where you pay much less. Furthermore we had to leave 1,5h earlier from the poolside at the Hotel than scheduled (15h instead of 16:30h).

We had a great time on the death road tour. We were fed some snacks for breakfast and then snacks twice during the tour. We had a buffet lunch at the end destination that was a hotel with a pool. The food was sufficient. Recommend bringing a towel for the pool. Gandalf was a great guide during the cycling. He provided lots of briefing and information as well as lots of stories about the road. and we and the entire group felt safe and all completed the road with no accidents or issues. The assistant guide Isra was also great taking photos and supporting. The bike was good quality - we took the middle option which is recommend as it’s very bumpy and you feel it on your hands and arms a lot. Overall we had a great time and would recommend.

I booked the Death Road Bolivia tour the day before, not fully knowing what I was getting into. Israel, Jhon, and Nelson picked us up exactly on time, as promised. We started the day with breakfast on a mountain, surrounded by spectacular views.
There was one incident where someone got hurt, which is why it's crucial to listen to the guides and follow their instructions to avoid accidents. Despite the situation, the team provided prompt care and kept the atmosphere positive, making me feel safe at all times.
Navigating those roads is no joke, so kudos to the driver for handling them so skillfully! If you're into adventure, breathtaking views, and a good workout, I highly recommend this tour. It’s a true bucket list experience ✅
This tour is perfect for anyone looking for excitement, with a team that takes safety very seriously and consists of genuinely great people!

Incredible experience! I was very nervous at the start and the guides made me feel so comfortable throughout. This tour was slightly more expensive than others but so worth it - Nelson, Rodrigo, Congo and Oscar were all so attentive and constantly checked that us and the bikes were all doing good! Would definitely recommend

Great experience, great service, great guides. Isreal was dope af Gandalf is hilarious. There are definitely cheaper tours where you gain with this one is if you want to book simplicity and have the earliest spot on the death road to cross the least amount of people.

*Likely to sell out: Based on Viator’s booking data and information from the provider from the past 30 days, it seems likely this experience will sell out through Viator, a Tripadvisor company.
