Overview
Explore one of Jordan’s most spectacular highlights on a private tour from Amman, avoiding the time-wasting hassle of the early-morning bus. Pickup and drop-off at hotels or the airport in Amman make this a convenient way to visit Petra. You’ll have the option to add a guided Petra tour and entrance fees, or simply enjoy an independent day in this ancient city.
What to Expect
Meet a driver at your hotel in Amman or at the Amman airport, and then enjoy sweeping views of the Jordan desert during the 147-mile (236-kilometer) trip to Petra. Upon arrival at Petra, you’ll have six hours to see the ancient city on your own; if you’ve opted for a guided visit, you’ll begin with a 2-hour tour of key sights before enjoying free time to explore.

Take in Petra’s Siq, the Treasury, Royal Tombs, and the Theater, as well as the area’s soaring cliffs and hidden caves. This tour stays longer in Petra than many group options, so you’ll also have time to leave the crowds behind on an independent hike to the spectacular Monastery or High Place of Sacrifice.

After a full day in Petra, you’ll return to Amman, where you can be dropped off at your hotel or at the airport.

Great value, great driver, great service overall!

We went to Petra from Amman with our driver Nidal, who was very friendly and informative. He gave us a lot of information about the history in Petra and explained to us about the culture in Jordan. Would definitely recommend this!
