Morning Cu Chi Tunnels Tour from Ho Chi Minh City
From US$14.00
Overview
The Cu Chi Tunnels are best explored by guided tour from Ho Chi Minh, so you can fully understand their part in the Vietnam War and travel to them without hassle. With this tour, go underground to imagine the hardships of their Viet Cong inhabitants and see how they were used. Plus, sample some typical Viet Cong food and pay an optional visit to a shooting range (own expense).
What to Expect
Meet in central Ho Chi Minh and settle into an air-conditioned bus for your approximately 1.5-hour drive through to the Cu Chi Tunnels.

During your journey and on arrival, listen to introductions on the tunnels from your guide, learning how Viet Cong troops used them to shelter from, and launch attacks on, American and Southern Vietnamese forces during the 1956-1975 Vietnam War.

Watch a documentary showing how the tunnels often formed hideouts for whole villages, and descend underground for a guided tour. Walk by areas used as arsenals, hospitals, sleeping quarters, and kitchens; and learn how inhabitants overcame the hardships of their subterranean world.

Afterward, sample boiled manioc (cassava), a dish that sustained the Viet Cong guerrillas, and if you wish, visit a shooting range (own expense) to try firing an AK-47 or MK 16 machine gun.

Your tour then finishes at the original departure point.

Mr Ut

Great experience made all the more special by our guide Mr Ut (Akira). The Cu Chi tunnels themselves are a must see. I reccommend going to the War Remnants museum before or after to get some perspective of the Cu Chi tunnels.More

Easy way to see the tunnels

A long trip considering it's just a couple of hours at the tunnels, but that's just the way it is I think! We met at the tour office and then drove to the tunnels (one stop on the way for about half an hour). Given...More

Great tour, but tons of tourists

The tour was great, guide was very informative, definitely worth visiting. However, the drive out there takes about 2 hours each way, there are tons of tourists which means you are always surrounded by other groups, and we never went to the shooting range part...More
