    The Grand Palace
Stop: 2 hours - Admission included
This half day tour starts either in the morning or in the afternoon. We will pick you up from your hotel in Bangkok and guided by your professional guide, transfer to the entrance of the Grand Palace in the old part of the capital. Situated close to the Chao Phraya, Bangkok’s River of Kings, the Grand Palace occupies nearly one square mile. The former royal residence of the Chakri Kings, the palace is the perfect example of an ancient Siamese court. Built in 1782 by King Rama I, it was the centre of power for more than 150 years. Today, the palace is Bangkok's major landmark and most popular tourist attraction and is often used for the occasional ceremony. The interiors of most of the buildings in the Grand Palace are closed to the public Wat Phra Kaew adjoins the Grand Palace in a common compound and is the home of the country's most famous Buddha statue (also known as the Emerald Buddha). This important figure has a long and interesting history that is tied to the royal family and once resided in nearby Wat Arun. It is relatively small (about 66 centimetres) and is situated in a high position in the Wat to signify its important status in the Thai kingdom. Dating back to 1782 (when Bangkok was founded), the entire compound consists of over 100 brightly coloured buildings, golden spires and glittering mosaics. Together, these two sites form what many consider the greatest spectacle for visitors to Bangkok. After this visit, we drive you back to your hotel in Bangkok.

The entire complex is very impress and more stunning than we expected . It is worth the trip. The buildings just glisten in the sunlight as if they are made of jewels. The complex is rather large. Each building is unique. Our photos don't do this place justice. We went two

Dear LibbyCi We really appreciate your review of our operated excursion into the realm of the Grand Palace and the Wat Phra Keo. It has been a pleasure reading that you enjoyed the awe and splendour of the former residence of the Rama King and the religious home of one of Thailand's most revered Buddha statues. The complex is indeed large enough to feel lost yet with us at the helm of guiding you through the realms of the former Royal Residence of the Kings of Thailand, your visit certainly would not have been the same. Once again, we appreciate reviewing our Grand Palace tour in a positive light and to highlight taking the dress code seriously for future visitors. With kind regards Asian Trails Thailand

If you enjoy a good walk, history, and architecture, then this is for you. We especially the antique chinoiserie stylings and the murals. Take a water bottle. Stop in the ice cream shop to cool off.

It has been a pleasure reading that you enjoyed the awe and splendour of the former residence of the Rama King and the religious home of one of Thailand's most revered Buddha statues. The comments you made about enjoying a good walk absolutely spot on! Not wearing proper shoes and following the strict dress code as outlined by Palace officials may result in not being able to enjoy the full extend of these royal grounds. Once again, we appreciate reviewing our Grand Palace tour in a positive light and to highlight this for future visitors. With kind regards Asian Trails Thailand

We toured the Grand Palace as part of a private tour. It is beautiful and ornate. It can be very crowded and very hot but it is worth all of that to see it in person.
