Highlights
  • Full-day Kanchanaburi and Kwai River tour from Bangkok
  • Ride a speedboat on the river to the landmark bridge
  • Learn the story of the Death Railway as you ride the historic line
  • See Allied graves in a WWII-era cemetery

What to Expect
Meet a driver at your hotel in Bangkok, and board a climate-controlled coach for Kanchanaburi, a lush province west of Bangkok. Pass sugar cane fields, rice paddies, and pineapple plantations, then make the first stop of the day at the Kwai River, boarding a long-tail speed boat to the site of the bridge, an icon of the classic novel about wartime Thailand. Next, pay your respects to fallen prisoners of war and laborers at the Kanchanaburi War Cemetery, and continue to the JEATH War Museum to see WWII artifacts and images. Delve into the jungle where POWs lived and worked as you ride the “Death Railway,” covering tracks built to join the Thai and Burmese railway lines. After a full day of exploring Kanchanaburi, begin the scenic return trip to Bangkok, where this tour concludes at your original departure point.

The guide was very nice and excited, with lots of trivia and jokes. The tour, however, is very long and the van was not the most comfortable, with very stiff seats. It is a long drive to and from the destination, roughly 3h each. Almost none of the attractions are memorable,

It was a long drive to get there from Bangkok but well worth it... we then stopped at the cemetery and museum followed by long boat ride to the Bridge. We then paid the upgrade of 300 baht to be in first class on the train which gave us drinks and snacks. Lunch was

Enjoyable visit to Bridge over River Kwai. Also visited museum and the War Cemetery- all worth doing especially as we found reference to a friends relative in the cemetery.

Being imbued to hear that you found the reference to a friend's relative in the cemetery. River Kwai Bridge has full of history, so it's really worth visiting.

Generally speaking, I would recommend this tour. That being said, I probably would not do it again as everything you need to see can be seen on the day tour. The tour was very well-organized, was informative, and left really little to the imagination as to what our brave

River Kwai Bridge is a very well-known historical place where worth visiting, apart from the ruins in Ayutthaya. History lovers must-see. Appreciate you taking time to write us a valuable review.

A full day with an early 6am start. Our guide Tuc Tuc was very lively and bubbly, just wish she would realise that visiting the war graves can be a somber moment and not always a time for photo. First stop, the war graves. Very thought provoking and emotional at times. The
