Thailand's Ayutthaya Temples and River Cruise from Bangkok

Overview
Navigating Bangkok’s chaotic roads independently can be a daunting task. Swap transportation hassles for a comfortable coach (with hotel pickup and drop-off) and a relaxing river cruise on this Ayutthaya tour. Explore the UNESCO-listed site on foot; hear guide commentary about its history; and visit highlights such as Wat Phra Si Sanphet and the summer palace of King Rama IV, famed for its mixture of Thai, Chinese, and Gothic architecture.
What to Expect
Following hotel pickup in Bangkok, you’ll travel north to the UNESCO-listed Ayutthaya, the former capital of Thailand (aka the Kingdom of Siam). On arrival, you’ll disembark the coach and embark on a walking tour of Ayutthaya temples, monasteries, and palaces.

Admire temples such as Wat Mongkhon Bophit, Wat Yai Chai Mongkol, and Wat Phanan Choeng, famed for its gilded seated Buddha statue. Marvel at the well-preserved summer palace of King Rama IV with its mixture of Thai, Chinese, and Gothic architecture.

After lunch, you’ll return to Bangkok via the Chao Phraya River (Mae Nam Chao Phraya) on a scenic cruise. The tour ends with hotel drop-off.

Decent well organised tour

I don't usually like organised tours, and as a rule try to avoid them. But having limited time over a free weekend in Bangkok, and having visited before and seen most of the Bangkok sites, I was recommended this. It was easy to book online...More

The highlight of this tour is not the Buddha temples of Ayutthya but the river cruise. The temples are fantastic, the guide Mr Pon was witty humorous and great. But the cruise and the boat were just fantastic. The food was good and tasty, very...More

At Bang Pa In you can hire golf buggies to help take you round. At the others you can do as much or as little walking as you want. Nothing is too strenuous.
