- pierpaolor2370 contributionsThe worst bus ride ever had in the last 50 yearsAs per “ luxurious “ the local company booked for us the most miserable bus ever had and the last row of seats that where above the suspension and not movable back. Super dirty, super dusty bus and ride. If you decide to go anyway by road better to take a car instead. Otherwise you will feel really sick and tired . I already had the same trip but much better bus for the same price, but I personally booked the ticket. The local company just book anything because business is business.Written 30 December 2024
- ebens7720 contributionsGreat experience. It's an experience you will not forget. Construction everywhere, potholes, turns, twists. The drivers are awesome to get you there, bus is comfortable and stops every 2 hours for food and toilet break. Slept well. A must do.Written 1 December 2024
- Travel010438668740 contributionsDepending on your budget ...The description of 'tourist bus', was a bit misleading, although I guess, in terms of comfort, the bus was significantly better than a basic local bus. Being positive, the seats were reasonably comfortable and the air-conditioning worked so well that many of the locals who were sitting in the middle of the bus, and who obviously knew what to expect, put their hoods up to protect their heads from the very cold air. Also, there were sufficient stops; one for lunch and three to go to the toilet. The journey took about nine and a half hours. As far as the driver was concerned, he did get us to our destination safely, although he drove faster than I would have done on occasions (not thinking of the passengers comfort/discomfort) and one or two of his overtaking manoeuvres were, I thought, a bit risky. To be fair, I think bad roads had been made significantly worse by recent flooding and rain which had resulted in land slips and landslides. I think about half the journey was on unmade roads. In places - for much of the journey the road follows a mountain gorge - there were scenic views down into the gorge and the river below! If I am am honest, it is not a journey I would want to make again. That said, the alternative is flying which is much more expensive. During the journey, there were at least three occasions when the bus, travelling at speed, hit potholes and we were literally thrown up out of our seats which did not have seatbelts. I think the best way to create an accurate picture of how much movement there was - we were sitting at the back over the wheels and there seemed to be little in the way of suspension - is to say that during the journey, my Fitbit watch registered my arm/body movement and recorded 24,000 steps, without me leaving my seat!Written 23 October 2024

- faith10290 contributionsDeliver what they promise. My husband and I took the 7:00am bus from Kathmandu to Pokhara. Due to construction and maintenance the road was quite rough in many places. Despite this the ride was very comfortable, although i couldn't imagine taking the journey without the sofa seats. The driver was great and at all times we felt safe. There were plenty of washroom/food stops and beautiful views. It was a great experience!Written 3 September 2023
- bhaktas20230 contributionsLuxury bus for PokharaSabin recommended kathmandu to Pokhara luxury bus. He helped me to book easily by WhatsApp call. I found more comfortable than other bus and price also seems reasonable I travelled in Pokhara for Nepali new year 2080. The bus is really niceWritten 17 April 2023
- EarlyBird410 contributionsFriendly and professional!Sabin from Best Treks Nepal went out of his way to be helpful. He gave very clear details about bus time, seat, pick up point and sent friendly messages on the day to check all was well. As a solo traveller, I found this useful and reassuring. The bus had comfortable seats. The ride was slow and bumpy because half the road between Kathmandu and Lumbini is "under construction". A good thing the driver was skilled! Best Treks Nepal also arranged my return trip to Kathmandu with the same care and attention to detail. I would not hesitate to recommend them.Written 11 March 2023

- pollylqx0 contributionsAnnapurna circuit May 2019Sabin Dangol was our young enthusiastic guide for the Annapurna circuit - when he helped gokyo treks Nepal in spring 2019. He looked after us well, made sure we were feeling our best and always waited for us even though we were quite slow most times. He was engaging and together with our porter bier, they taught us local culture and some local card games that we could play with them during our rest time. He is extremely fluent in English and is very knowledgeable. We had the best time in the Annapurna region and always discussed going back whenever possible. Thank you for looking after us! Btw Sabin is a Vlogger too so follow him on youtube @sabindangol 😉😉.Written 25 December 2022
- grumpycheng0 contributionsFun, great guideFour years ago, two friends and myself went on the Annapurna Circuit Trek and Sabin was our guide for the latter half of the expedition. My review states January 2022 but that’s because TripAdvisor doesn’t offer earlier options. He was very helpful, made sure we had lovely accommodations, food, and made the trek fun and safe for all three of us. We didn’t have to worry about a thing. Definitely trust him as a guide.Written 25 December 2022
- K6497QDmanonl0 contributionsPikey Peak Trek with SabinAugust 2022, We did a great trek, Pikey Peak, with our guide Sabin. The trip went very well, from the departure by Jeep, with lodges all welcoming, we learned a lot about Nepal and its culture. Sabin, was always listening to our needs and knew how to make us discover his country, his customs through his explanations. He even made us taste local beer, typical meals, yacc cheese. An adventure full of discovery and always with a lot of kindness, thank you for everything Sabin, we will come back for a Peak projectWritten 23 December 2022
- RPCB19870 contributionsKathmandu with the locals!Sabin, my guide, is a great guy with lots of knowledge about the holy sites in Kathmandu. He picked me up from the airport and waited 2 hours cause my flight was delayed. After that he brought me to my hotel and the next day we did sight-seeing in Kathmandu. He can arrange for entrance and good guidance everywhere in Kathmandu and beyond the city limits also! I only spend a day in Kathmandu, but can definetely recommend going with local guide like Sabin! Kind regards and lots of love from the Netherlands, RolfWritten 22 December 2022
- nancy t0 contributionsAmazing but not for everyone!Amazing ride up and down the mountain with Rajesh Lumbu my guide and driver Harka Tamang. First I was a single female a little bit weary but felt so comfortable with Rajesh when he came to the hotel. The road to the top can be a little scary but Harka was an amazing driver, felt so safe. It’s truly a bumpy ride and I mean bumpy. We spent time at the top, the Temple and there was a small tower to climb. I chose not to eat or drink anything, just so I wouldn’t feel sick. This was a great tour and I’m glad I went.Written 30 October 2022

This was a cool experience! I was seated on the side facing the valley and the trucks passing the other direction, which were beautifully ornamented. It had been raining all week, so the road was muddy and travel was slow (12 hours) but the bus was comfortable enough. Our bus did have a tire blow out (the highway is bumpy!) but staff replaced it quickly. There were a handful of foreigners on the bus, with mostly Nepalis traveling between the cities. The two bathroom and meal stops (around 9:30 and 12:00) were appreciated!

Very safe and responsible driver, which is very important for this kind of road. Stops on the way were in very nice places where great meals could be bought for breakfast and lunch for okay prices. Comfortable seats! Bus felt not bumpy at all thanks to driver and probably the bus suspension system.

It was really kind of the owner that even though I booked the wrong date that he would give me another ticket for the date I needed to take the bus. The Bus itself has big seats and therefore is really comfortable. At all I’m very satisfied!

The bus was ok and relatively clean. We stopped about 6 times on the way, the first time basically just after leaving the city itself after 1 hour. Including all those pauses of 15 to 30min each, the ride to Pokhara took about 9.5h.

We are extremely feel bad for the many pauses in the buses, generally we do not stop many places , due to the road extension by the authority has to stop where necessary, applicable for all vehicle (not for us only), This pauses is our beyond the control. Some time I believe that travelers should be patience, understand the real situation.
Hopefully the road construction will finish soon so we can travel smoothly. Good luck for your travel in Nepal.

Hi am planning to go from Kathmandu to Pokhara next week. Am in a dilemma how to go? Am travelling with parents ( above 70 yrs) .
Should I take flights? Scared about the track record of buddha air or Yeti air. Which one is safe?
Should I take road- Concerned about the 8-9 hours journey?
Please suggest .
Thanks

The driver was very good. Considering all the road works along the route and the other drivers overtaking a lot, our driver was sensible and didn't make any dangerous manoeuvres, thankfully.
I would use this service again.
