- Coastal521194809050 contributionsThe best tour company - Himalyan Planet Adventures P LtdI had initially planned to stay in Kathmandu for 4 days and was planning to go do the jungle tour that is a little away from Kathmandu. Well, as we all know that plans change last minute and so we ended up staying in Kathmandu for 6 nights. I must tell you that I was so lucky to have booked this tour UNESCO Heritage site tour because this tour was organized by an amazing company Himalayan Planet Adventures P. Ltd. So going back to this tour, it is a long day, but if you plan to be in Kathmandu for short period of time and cover all the historical sites, I highly recommend it. Otherwise, you could divide it into two days which this company offers. Anyhow, after this tour, I would contact the co-founder of this company and he has the patience of an angel. I would describe what I like to do and he would recommend and advise me on a good trip. So all 5 to 6 days, I was in communication with him and he made my stay in Kathmandu very fulfilled. I did all the sightseeing, the sunrise hike (was not able to see mt. Everest - the weather was too foggy), and Chiandrigiri Hike. This advisor has a sincere love for his country, he trains these advisors with hospitality skills. I am planning to come back to Nepal soon since I only got to see Kathmandu. When I do come back, I will definitely contact this company directly instead of through Viator. I would like to do their 14 days Everest base camp trekking and just tour around Nepal. I would like to especially thank Shanti whose smile and laughter were contagious. I would make jokes and after spending two to three days, we would joke around like we were good friends. I can still hear her laughter in my ears. I would like a shout-out to Shishir, with whom we did the Chiandrigiri long-day hike along with two stray dogs I fell in love with. Shishir is like a peaceful warrior. After 3 or 4 dys of tours, I wanted to go hike in a peaceful mental state and Shishir would offer to take photos, but never interrupted my zen. His presence felt so natural to me and I appreciated his beautiful big smile. I cannot wait to go mountain trekking with him in near future. Last but not least, Nabaraj, organized my daily trip and even offered to organize my Bhutan trip which I should have asked him because the company I worked with in Bhutan was not as half as good as Nabaraj. He even made time to have a coffee and was such a personable gentleman. He sincerely wishes the best for Nepal and I really support his vision. I highly highly recommend going through this tour company. I have never done any tours before this trip with India Nepal and Bhutan, but because of the experience I gained from this company, I shall seek out tours in future in everywhere I go.Written 4 February 2024

- Michelle S0 contributionsA Perfect Day in Kathmandu!I'm so glad I chose this as the way to begin our holiday in Nepal! Rabina took excellent care of us. She is an expert in the historical and religious significance of Kathmandu's UNESCO listed heritage sites. She showed us the best places to eat, explained local customs and even taught us a few phrases in Nepali! Our driver navigated the busy streets masterfully and was both friendly and courteous. I can't recommend this tour enough to first-time visitors to Kathmandu. Rabina took all of the stress out of planning the day so we could just enjoy it. She took plenty of photos and videos too! Thank you for an amazing experience, Rabina! AAA+++!!!!Written 4 December 2023

- ah90 contributionsIncredible Trip! Culture, History, and BeautyAbsolutely the best tour of historical sites in Kathmandu. My tour guide, Shanti, was fantastic. She gave me details on the historical, religious, and cultural aspects of every monument and temple we visited. She was knowledgeable, passionate about her country and culture, and a very pleasant person to spend an entire day with. We managed to see all the important cultural sites in just one day - it’s worth it! She also had a great sense of humor and made the tour fun and informative. I highly recommend this tour guide and this tour company.Written 2 December 2023

- Go067638347890 contributionsCable Car delightOur guide, Shanti, absolutely made this trip! She arrived promptly at our hotel for our pick up. It was Saturday so traffic to the cable was light but she filled the ride with history and information about Kathmandu. The ride up was smooth and quiet. We passed through clouds that enveloped the cable car completely and added a surreal sense to the ride. Once at the top we enjoyed only brief glimpses of the mountains as it was unfortunately a cloudy day but the glimpses were fantastic. Shanti was a wealth of information and we enjoyed learning about Bhaleshwara Mahadev, the temple of wishes, and making our wishes and being blessed. We also loved the spectacular view of the valley as we descended on the cable car. On the way back to the hotel, Shanti also pointed out several places we could visit with just a short walk from the hotel to fill the rest of our day. We took her advice and enjoyed the Royal Palace and the Garden of Dreams.Written 23 September 2023

Me and my sister really enjoyed our trip to nagarkot and the hike to the hindu temple. It was great to get out of the craziness of kathmandu for the day and breath clean air up in the hills and watch the sunrise. It was a little foggy but we still had lovely views of langtang and the ganesh himal range.
Our guide Bidur was friendly, chatty and answered all of our questions. It was interesting to learn about the mountains from him and also more about Nepali life and Hinduism. We didnt feel rushed and he took us for a lovely breakfast and offered us to stop for tea later in the day too.
Would recommend to people who want to see how many nepali people live and have a short mountain escape from the valley and stretch their legs on a lovely downhill/flat walk.
Thank you for the great day!

The Nargakot sunrise and day hike tour was a truly memorable experience for us. We got the best view of the sunrise over the Himalayan ranges from the Nargakot tower, which is a small tower in the middle of the viewpoint area. Following the sunrise was a breakfast paid by ourselves (not included in the tour) at a hotel recommended by our tour guide. After breakfast, we started the 13-km hike from Nargakot to Changu Narayan temple. The hike was easy and mostly downhills, taking us through the villages where we could see the daily life of Nepali people. We did the tour in late December so it was freezing during the sunrise, but afterwards the hike warmed us up and it got hot later in the sun. So one pro tip is layer up for the morning and get ready to leave your jackets in the car when the hike began.
Communication with the tour organizer was fast and responsive. Our guide Som was also very helpful and knowledgeable. Would highly recommend this tour!

We booked this tour to enjoy the trekking experiences and to see sunrise and mount Everest from Nagarkot View point in Nepal. It was well worth.
We were lucky to see the sunrise view and Himalayas mountain chain due to weather permit and it was breathtaking.
Breakfast was not that good. I was hoping to enjoy local nepalese cuisine.
After breakfast, we went for trekking and it was nice experience short version of trekking through nepal local village.
The last stop was at Changu Narayan - UNESCO World Heritage Site.
Our Guide Madan was experience and he explained well about the trekking experiences.
Would recommend!!!

I had a great time on this tour! Shishir was a very knowledgeable guide, always in good spirits! The hike is a good way to explore the countryside in Nepal, giving you a different perspective of Kathmandu.
Everyone was on time and very responsive, despite the smog, we could still get a glimpse of the mountain ranges for sunrise. I recommend this tour!

The transportation will bring you to the highest point, and from there walk downhill all the time (except 20min up, easy trek), passing by small villages and some temples.
What could be improved: for the coffee break/breakfast at the start of the trek (at your on expense, obviously) could have been in a restaurant with an impressive view, instead of the so-so place they chose. As a positive, the restaurant restroom was very clean. The guide was a 10!! friendly, acknowledged and adapted his walking speed to our condition. He also does longer treks in the Anapurna range, so he was great to talk to!

Had a brilliant hike/tour with Bidur who was so friendly and chilled. We got collected from our hotel and driven up to the view point in time for the sunrise which was beautiful even with it being hazy. Afterward we went for breakfast followed by the hike. The hike from start to finish was was amazing, we passed through many little villages before arriving at Changu Narayan Temple. Bidur was very informative throughout and if we ever return to Nepal we will definitely book in again for a longer trek and would hope to do so with Bidur.

The sunrise and hike was amazing, the experience is spectacular and could not recommend this enough. When you get to the spot for the sunrise be sure to climb the ladder to the outpost early on to get the best view (it fills up).
Sarita was informative, professional and timely. We thoroughly enjoyed our home with her and she had a deep in depth knowledge of the local area.
The hike itself is not too hard there is a mixture of up and down hill parts but overall fine.
Recommend Sarita to anyone wishing to do this.
Top tip: the sun sometimes is hidden by the clouds but wait long enough and you'll see it crack through the clouds!

We did not see the sunrise because of the fog. We then hiked for about two and a half hours and saw nothing significant. We were really disappointed that we never got to see the Himalayas (even after three hours after the sunrise). It is our impression that this is normal during this time of the season. I think it would be helpful to not sell this package during this times or warn folks.
Glad we were taken to Bhaktapur Chng Narayan temple and dropped off at Bhaktapur Durbar Square.

Dear sir/madam,
We are interested in your tour to Nagarkot from Kathmandu. Now it says in the additional information:
Not recommended for pregnant travelers.
Now it is true that my girlfriend will be 12 weeks pregnant around that time. Why is it not recommended? Is it because of the altitude?
Thanks in advance!

We also stopped at Changu Narayan on the way back to Kathmandu. It is the oldest temple in Nepal. It only takes about an hour to take in the whole site. The tour guide came with us and told us a lot about the temple and the driver waited for us. No extra cost - we just tipped more to show our appreciation.
