About the operator
- YvetteM300Tourpedia Travel is a Concierge Travel for youTourpedia planned a week of events in Ghana for a group of 11. We immediately felt at home from the welcome at the airport to the special needs taken with my group. We saw authentic Ghana and I felt like family. The food was different for me but delicious and they vetted all the restaurants for healthy eating. The transportation from tour sites to other cities was always punctual and safe; breaks for food, water and bathroom was included which many tour guides forget. I would definitely us Tourpedia Travel again for Ghana travel and recommend it to my clients as a travel advisor.
- mamanajaw00Working with Tourpedia was wonderful and seamless!!They were able to accommodate all our considerations and put the tour together so thoughtfully. Our tour guide, had a steel trap for a mind and his recounting of historical events was so thoughtful. The minivan we used was cool, clean, and stocked with water to mitigate the heat and our walking activity around Jamestown. This included learning about and visiting areas we never would have access to on our own. Towards the end of the day we met Tara, the Tourpedia proprietor, for some drumming and dancing at the Arts Center. The pros were extremely patient and taught us basics that we could replicate while including us in their drum circle. Our little one loved this, and threw himself into participating! We appreciate this unforgettable memory we’ll always have! We cannot recommend Tourpedia more; you won’t be disappointed!
- 858ellinas00Ghanaian ExperienceVery educational tours, good food, and fellowship with friends and family. The tour company surprised my daughter on her Birthday at dinner with a saxophonist playing Happy Birthday to her. The driver and tour guide was very patient with us. They were always on time.
- wandafromwakanda00Tara and Toupedia are A-MAZING!!!!Tara is amazing! Tars and Tourpedia made our trip to The Gambia 🇬🇲 unforgettable! Her attention to detail could be seen from beginning to end. Our driver, our accommodations, the meals, and the service were all impeccable! Book with her now!!! You will not be sorry!!!!
- dylansm202000Dalena's 40th Bday Adventures in GhanaI enjoyed every moment of my 40th Bday trip. Tara was prompt and understanding from day one. She created a 40th Bday experience that I will never forget. There was a total of six ppl in our group. Everyone had a blast and enjoyed each moment!
- 2017LBV00Memorable Group Trip To The GambiaHello, I am a travel agent with over 15 years of experience planning group trips. Over the years, I have worked with many different companies. I have never had such a pleasant experience as I did working with Tourpedia Travel. From our first introduction, Tara was a true professional. She worked with my group's very specific needs related to accommodations and their itinerary. There was a client initiated change in the itinerary that meant that the hotels and tours needed to be changed. Without complaint, she worked with the new schedule to accommodate the changes needed. She added a personal touch that meant so much to me and my clients. I look forward to my next group request for this destination so I can work with Tara again soon. Don't hesitate to use Tourpedia Travel. You are in for a treat!
- GrandTour1785113410000The Gambia Project: Coming Home and Finding Our Hearts, A Celebration of BeingTara as the founder and travel expert behind Tourpedia is elegant, classy, and has superb attention to detail. Not only did she receive us when we finally landed in Banjul but we had some major travel challenges beforehand and I felt that she was with us every step of the way. I felt that Tara was taking was taking a serious interest in making sure that everything went well before, during, and even after the trip was over. I was calling this trip a ‘feasibility tour’ to consider a major project and collaboration with The University of The Gambia and the Medical School.. Tara understood how important it was for my husband and I to get a sense of The Gambian culture along with a feel for the rhythm of life in this beautiful country. On a personal note, my husband also celebrated a birthday while we were there and Tara planned a lovely surprise for us that included a dinner in a beautiful setting that truly warmed our hearts. Frankly, whenever I visit my ancestral homeland of origin, Africa and seek to explore the many beautiful countries and cultures, I will be reaching out for Tara and Tourpedia. I know we will be in the best of hands. For anyone interested in visiting The Gambia, do not hesitate to work with Tara as she knows how to make the tour something for everybody from singles to families!
- rosannactravels00Authentic Ghanian ExperiencesThis was my first time in Ghana, and I wanted a hire a tour company that provided an interactive but safe experience as I was a solo female traveler. I had reached out to Tara a month prior to my arrival, and she was able to answer all my questions and customize the tours to my interests. I ended up doing three full-day tours with Tourpedia Travel and each one of them provided a real-life glimpse of Ghanian life. An at-home cooking class showcased not only the food a typical Ghanian family eats, but you are able to get your hands dirty and help cook the meal and also see how they live. The full-day food tour covers everything from multi-course breakfasts to wandering around the markets for tasty snacks, a lunch buffet with live entertainment and a sampling of local desserts. On my last day, we drove to the Volta region to one of the villages for a naming ceremony; a truly remarkable, once-in-a-lifetime experience. As for the team, they always arrived early for pickup at my hotel, and dropped me back safely. My driver, Godson, was able to navigate through the treacherous Accra traffic with ease - a great driver! Mariam, my tour guide, has knowledge on all things Ghana. Over three days, we discussed everything from cuisine to politics to historical landmarks, broke out some dance moves, and provided some helpful tips for the rest of my journey. Tara also joined in on a few of the activities throughout the week, and it was a nice accompaniment to have multiple points-of-views throughout the tours. I cannot recommend this company enough, and I'm looking forward to booking with them again when I'm back in the area!
- ahamil2n00Professional and Quality ExperienceWe attended a wedding in Accra and were recommended Tourpedia/Tara by friends. Prior to our arrival, she communicated with us about our plans to help us decide what we had time to do and see. We committed to a day trip to see the Kakum rainforest and Elmina castle. Our guide, Nana Ama, was knowledgeable and personable. It was a long day door-to-door and at all times we felt welcome and safe. Tara also made herself available to answer questions during our entire stay - literally a WhatsApp message away for anything anytime. Overall, was a top notch experience.
- V577BVerick00Amazing family trip in Kakum and Cape Coast GhanaOur trip to Kakum and Cape Coast was amazing Elvis our guide was great and the driver excellent. Highly recommended
- MoKaW00Top-notch, VIP experienceMy family and I traveled to Ghana for three weeks in March 2021 (during COVID-19). We wanted to give ourselves and our kids a real-life remote work/school experience. Tourpedia curated the trip of a lifetime! From planning and coordinating every excursion to ensuring all COVID-19 protocols were strictly followed, we were treated like true African kings and queens. Our trip simply would not have happened without having a trusted tour curator on the ground in Ghana to guide us. Thank you, Tara, for giving us exception, one-of-a-kind, VIP service and for helping us to make the kinds of memories that truly last a lifetime. I've already recommended Tourpedia to several friends and look forward to working with them again for our future travel needs.

The trip to Ghana was perfectly curated by Tourpedia Travel. My family was able to experience the richness of the country and culture in ways that I never imagined. There was no detail left without a special touch. The team when above and beyond all of my expectations. I LOVED our personal dessert tasting. So many personal aspects of this trip will remain in my heart forever. I highly recommend the company if you truly want an experience one of the best trips of your dreams.

The organization and attention to detail by Tara for this experience was impeccable. I traveled to Ghana and Tara handled the booking of some of my accommodations. We also wanted to have a Fulani food experience. Tara arranged all the details of the private event for me and my friends and all we had to do was show up. She was there when we arrived and made sure everything went smoothly. I highly recommend her for the seamless planning. If you are someone who doesn’t like stress and you are traveling to Ghana, call Tara

Tourpedia Travel is a professional travel agency that exceeds expectations in its tour organization, hotel accommodation, and tour guide. In May 2023, a group of 25 pilgrims visited Ghana to seek rest, cultural immersion, and spiritual renewal. Our host, Tourpedia Travel, met us at the airport and took us to our 5-star Labadi Beach Hotel. After resting well for the night, the next day, we toured the city of Accra, seeing the great marketplace and eating appetizing Ghanaian food and desserts. For the rest of the six days, we visited the village of Fodzoku, where we received our new names and socialized with the villagers: adults and children. The slave castles and Slave River left a somber impact on us. But because of the expert explanations the tour guides gave us, we processed the massive information we received and returned to the US well-rested and knowledgeable. Thanks to Tourpedia Travel for executing the pilgrimage so expertly. I am already organizing another group to Ghana in June 2024

Traveling to Ghana was not something I'd ever entertained. It simply had never entered my mind but when the opportunity presented itself I signed on. Having never been to Africa before I tried to keep an open mind and found myself looking forward to the trip more and more as the date approached. I knew Ghana would prove to be unlike anywhere else I'd traveled before - which had totaled some 13 countries - so I really didn't know what to expect.
Our group made arrangements through Tourpedia Travel and we met the owner, Tara, in a couple of advance online meetings where she was able to answer everyone's questions concerning local etiquette and customs, etc. On arrival, Tara proved even more personable along with the rest of her staff but I have to single out Mariam in particular who was a complete joy as she tirelessly answered questions about things we saw while leading our group on its travels between Accra, Kumasi, and Cape Coast. I witnessed her bend over backward to honor everyone's requests to stop here and there, or to locate a particular item someone wanted to purchase - all the while making it look easy and effortless. Mariam was well-chosen for her role as tour leader and was absolutely indispensable assisting in negotiating with vendors to help her poor tourists understand if a purchase was wise.
I will admit to being completely and most pleasantly surprised to find our tour bus - deftly maneuvered by a skilled driver across hundreds of miles of roads where I'd have torn the suspension off and left it lying in a ditch - was basically an on-call vehicle for personal excursions of a reasonable distance when not being employed for the whole group. Normally on group tours, once the bus is gone it's unavailable until the next time the whole group needed to board, yet when I wished to locate a specific place in the Jamestown area of Accra, Mariam arranged personal pick-up and drop-off and accompanied me throughout the journey. She even made the trek on foot with me, a fellow traveler, and a local from Jamestown whom Mariam located in advance to show us the way. I can't say enough about her except that she probably deserves a raise.
Getting back to Tourpedia Travel........ Our days were filled with activity from morning through dinner. There was never a time where we were left idle wondering what to do or where the bus had gone. Every expectation was met and great care had been made in advance choosing our dining locations, with no repeats.
I would have zero hesitation about booking through Tourpedia again whether in Ghana or elsewhere in Africa. Tara and company have their act together!

Tara and her team planned an unforgettable 16-day tour around Ghana for our family of 4. Everyone at Tourpedia was kind, helpful, and so caring. We feel like we are now part of the Tourpedia family!
From the first time I contacted Tara to discuss the trip, she was attentive to our interests and wanted to put together a trip that matched our requests. The itinerary that she put together for us was exactly what we were hoping for: an opportunity to travel around Ghana and to get an immersive cultural experience. We really enjoyed all of the sites that we visited and especially liked the extra experiences that Tara and her team planned for us, including a cooking lesson and meal with a Ghanian family, a drum lesson at the University of Accra, and a naming ceremony in a small village in the Volta Region.
Best of all were our guide, Mariam, and our drive, Mustapha. They were both so kind, accommodating, and willing to share their experiences. We loved spending time with them.
Because the Tourpedia team took such good care of us, we could enjoy 100% of our vacation time and didn't have any hassles or worries.
We will always treasure this time that we spent in Ghana thanks to the wonderful work of Tara, Mariam, Mustapha, and the rest of the outstanding Tourpedia team.

We booked a last minute tour to Cape Coast (Slave Castles) & Kakum Park (Canopy walk). Tara was so accommodating and exceeded our expectations in every way! Her staff arrived 15 minutes early in an air-conditioned bus stocked with cold waters and added such a rich experience as we embarked on the 3 hour drive from Accra! Martina shared so many insights that you wouldn’t get just by reading online blogs or a book and that was much appreciated! In addition, she made a couple of unexpected stops to get coconut water, plantain chips and to stop and see cocoa trees which once again added on to the experience! I’m a well experienced traveler and this tour is a must have if you want a unique & attentive experience! Our driver was also great & accompanied us and took tons of amazing pics & videos. If you want a first-class tour experience book them!!!!
