          Cheap
Extremely good value way to see a little of the Atlas mountains but not much else. The guides appeared very helpful but were very reluctant to allow us to depart from their fixed itinerary. For example they made it more or less impossible to eat anywhere other than the place they chose where I had the worst meal of my holiday. I did get some nice shots of Barbary Apes though.

Great show, horrible food and terrible service
Great show. The food was horrible, tastless and over cooked. The service was awful. Never brought drinks ordered and only brought 1 chicken breast for 3 people to share. The vegetables were over cooked and mushy. But, the show was excellent

Excellent overview of water use in history and the present.
We thoroughly enjoyed our visit to this museum. We took a 10-minute thrill-ride taxi from the Medina to get there. It has three floors of exhibits about water use and engineering in history and the present. Our 21-year old also enjoyed it.

          Flow of history
Exploring the museum of water in Marrakech on our day tour with atlas eco Travel was a truly amazing experience as it unveiled a captivating journey the history and inportance of water in Moroccan culture. The exhibits beautifully showcased the intricate systems of irrigation that have suplied life in the region for centuries. The place provided a fascinating view into the vital role water plays in shaping the vibrant tapestry of Marrakech. Highly recommended especially with Atlas eco Travel.

          What a great day!
We had a fabulous day in Casablanca, helped enormously by Ashraf our driver, he was pleasant, knowledgeable, a great driver and helped us see things we would never have been able to without him. Casablanca has lots to see in one day and Ashraf will help you get round them all safely and enjoyably. Highly recommend especially if you have the same driver.

          A fantastic day trip
We had a great day trip to Casablanca thanks to our driver, Achraf, who took good care of us and made sure we had a wonderful experience. It was so interesting to see a different part of Morocco and to witness the beauty of the Hassan II Mosque and experience the oceanfront at the Corniche. We booked this experience with Time Out through Viator and would happily recommend booking it, especially with Achraf! Thank you so much for a great day.

Absolutely amazing time on the camel ride! Our guide was wonderful, so insightful and friendly. The camels were beautiful, and we had a great trek! The landscape was breathtaking and our mint tea at the end was the cherry on top! Great pick up service from the hotel and back, prompt and smooth drive! We loved it! Would fully recommend! Cannot wait to come back again! :-)

        Was a amazing experience
The journey up was great but the journey back was super hard as you are tired and want to go to bed

The staff were amazing and the food was good Moroccan soup chicken tangine and water melon and the breakfast I thought was fine bread and eggs and tea or coffee

You got a lovely singing and music show which was great was too windy for a bonfire

The camels were amazing. My highlights of the tip loved them so much so would recommend it. Views were amazing also

Had fun on this trip. Was lucky to have met lots of really nice people here.
Everything seemed very fast paced. My only wish is if we spent less times in touristy driven markets(where prices are higher than regular stores.) nonetheless, if you budget yourself well, and bargain you butt off or are patient enough to not take the first options, you ll manage to have a formidable experience.
Also our driver Rasheed was super nice and very friendly. Will definitely recommend if you have the time and budget.

Very bad experience. We were supposed to go to Zagora for 2 days but they put us on a van with a group going to Merzouga for 3 days...and we figured it out at the middle of the trip ourselves. When we discovered this they tried to convince us that it was better to change our plans and leave for 3 days instead of 2. At the end we managed to continue the trip with another group and reach Zagora where the camel guide was really nice and the camp experience good. On the way back, when we stopped in Ouarzazate we were not allowed to visit what we wanted (as indicated on the plan) but they brougt us to a shop to sell us carpets...once back in Marrakech we tried to complain but they were rude and did not care about the mistakes made on our journey.

Dear Sir, Thank you for your kind email. We understand your dissatisfaction following your trip to Zagora. For various reasons, we were, unfortunately, unable to find another arrangement or show more flexibility to satisfy you. We deeply regret it while hoping that this does not alter the image of our agency with you, as an agency recognized for its hospitality and refinement. Thanking you for your kind understanding on this subject, Sincerely yours. Time Out Travel

Prison would be a better place - nearly ruined our whole holiday in a country we loved!

What we were promised vs what we got:

Driver and guide - he spoke no English and showed us nothing
Transport via airconditioned minivan - was hotter than the surface of the sun!
Camel Trek - camels looked beaten and sick
overnight in tents - these were disgusting with no bedding and blood on the bedside table
Dinner and breakfast were truly disgusting

We were picked up and drove over the Atlas Mountains, where our driver tried to kill us by overtaking trucks on blind bends.

We drove for 5 hours before we arrived at the Kasbah, our driver told us that the guide would show us around. It says guide in the itinerary, but afterwards they tried to charge us extra. We paid, but others didn't.

We drove another 6 hours with stops every hour while the driver tried to ensure we bought things.

Eventually we arrived at the camel riding, where the camels looked beaten... we saw them being whipped and kicked. We missed sunset as the driver kept stopping!

The campsite was vile and we were informed that we had to share a tent with 2 other couples... we had never met before. There were no sheets on the beds, just dirty rugs and there was blood on the bedside table. We cried!

Dinner was inedible and breakfast even worse.

We told the driver not to stop on the way back, but he frequently did and he also disappeared for over 30 mins at one toilet stop... which happened to be a shop also.

I have never been more relieved, than when this ended! This is one of a number of places offering the same tours and PLEASE DON'T BE FOOLED... it is a scam!

During this trip (in which you will sit in a van for many HOURS) you get to see some great things. The Atlas Mountains are beautiful, Aït-Ben-Haddou is a small, but wonderful place to visit (especially if you're a fan of Game of Thrones) and during the hours you sit in the van the view will constantly change - from mountains to desert. The camel ride is a unique experience and the desert camp is surely something special as well.

If you don't mind sitting in a van for many hours, you will see some amazing things during this trip.

        However....

They will try to rip you off in every possible way. It all started already when we met the other people of our group. It turned out everyone booked the trip with another company. So if you see reviews about this trip from another company, it's likely the exact same trip. Even worse, everyone paid a difference price. Most of us paid about €60, but someone only had to pay €50, while someone else paid almost €80.

At EVERY, but literally EVERY stop you make, they will try to rip you off somehow. If they stop at a small shop for toilets or to buy a snack, they will stop at a touristic shop where they know the owners personally. The prices of the drinks and snacks are high. At one point, I even paid about 10 times more for a sack of crips than in a supermarket in Marrakech.

When you stop at the touristic sites, they will do everything to let you buy something, from carpets to headscarves to stupid paintings.

The worst rip off was the headscarf which was "mandatory" to buy for the camel ride to protect you from the heat. The camel ride would be at sunset, so this didn't make any sense at all. They charged €8 for a scarf not even worth €0,50. You also had the option to buy one of worse quality for "only" €3, but these weren't displayed at the store. I asked the guide multiple times where to find those cheaper ones and he repeatedly avoided to answer my question.

The restaurants you stop at are REALLY overpriced. I looked up the place when I was there and all reviews on Google were negative. The employees of those restaurants are dressed in traditional berber clothes, but this is just to entertain tourists (something you will encounter many times during your trip). I even asked one of them about it and he literally told me he only wears it "for work".

On the second day, we stopped at another really overpriced restaurant for lunch. After lunch, they gave us some free time to explore the area. It turned out there was another restaurant across the street (you couldn't see it before) with the EXACT same menu for HALF the price than what we paid in the restaurant they assigned us.

Right before we went to the desert camp, we stopped at a supermarket to buy bottles of water as, according to our guide, there would be none at the desert camp. This "supermarket" was a small store with almost no stock, except.... a whole big fridge with bottles of expensive water. The store owner was shaking hands with our guide. It couldn't have been more obvious.

The desert camp is a special experience too. Dinner was some very basic mix of vegetables. Breakfast was really, really bad. you just had some pieces of bread and some butter. Oh, and a bowl of unpeeled eggs. No one knew what to do with the eggs. We didn't know how to eat them and we didn't even know how (and if) they were cooked.

There were no showers at the desert camp and the tents were warm and not comfortable to sleep in. To be honest, we knew this would be the case and it's just part of the experience, so I'm not really complaining about this. Just keep in mind that if you are keen to hygiene, this trip may not be for you.

The things you see during this trip are wonderful. Our group was a mixed age group and most of these people were fun to hang out with. Normally I'd give a trip like this 4 stars, but constantly being ripped off destroyed our experience.

I guess it's just the way things happen in Morocco...

NO WATER: none to drink, none to wash with. The taps, toilets, showers had nary a drop of water. The washrooms were filthy. One sink was full of urine smelling sand. During the whole camp/tour, we were given 2 cups of mint tea. Breakfast was stale bread and stale muffins. The beds and pillows were lumpy, hard and filthy. The pillows were actually old sofa cushions. We used our pjs for pillow covers and slept in our clothes. The camel drivers served our food, and since there was no water for washing, we were afraid to eat. The "entertainment" was laughable and the tour of the medina was of nothing but dirty alleyways: we did not even see the palace! (we saw it later on another tour!) The camel ride was 1/2 mile and you could see the tents from the road! The tents were dirty and had no ventilation. They expected women to sleep with men we had never met before: 4-6 people to a tent. Got flea bites. Time Out Travel should be given a permanent time out!

My friend & I really had a lot of fun on this excursion. Keep in mind that it's definitely NOT a 5 star trip but if you keep your spirit of adventure you will have fun. Also to note the only meals included are 1 dinner & 1 breakfast. You will pay for your own lunches unless you bring your own food or snacks. I recommend bringing water bottles. It's a 6 or 7 hour road trip through the Atlas Mountains - really beautiful. The van makes a few stops for rest breaks, where you can buy snacks & water. We visited the Kasbah Ait Ben Haddou which is interesting but definitely a "tourist trap". Before leaving, they tell us it is "mandatory" to buy a headscarf to protect us in the desert. Pretty silly but we chalked it up to part of the experience. The camel ride to our campsite was about 20-30 minutes. It was very uncomfortable - the saddles are not padded. Once at the campsite, we had a magical time. It was raining & thunderstorms so we did not have a campfire. The dinner was delicious & it was really fun to hang out with other people in our tour group from all around the world. The tents sleep 4 people so you may share with others. There is no electricity in the tents. We did have cell service but make sure your phone is charged before leaving Marrakesh. Bathrooms are a hole in the ground inside a tent - no hand washing station. It's literally tent camping in the desert so keep your expectations low & just roll with it. "Breakfast" is not much - just bread & honey with tea. The camel ride back to the vans is another 20-30 minutes on the camels - no exploring in the desert as advertised which was fine because as mentioned, the camel saddles were uncomfortable. It was another 6-7 hour drive back to Marrakesh, again through really beautiful countryside. The driver is not a tour guide so unless you ask questions or engage him in conversation, do not expect a guided tour. Our driver Younes, was really great - we had a fun time! All in all, we enjoyed this excursion. It's an adventure for sure & an a tourist tour so expect them to try to sell you things, the restaurants to be a bit high in price, etc but it's a fun time!
