- Emmadiam0nd0 contributionsExceptional. Unbelievable StaffThe wisest decision I could've made was to treat myself at the start of my Moroccan adventure with a 2 day stay at La Maison Arabe. Arriving depleted after a lengthy journey, we were warmly welcomed to this beautifully appointed place. Mourad was sincere and kind from the start. Many kind, helpful and sincere staff members were available to assist with luggage, provide a tour and welcome you. This place, is class. The Maison Arabe staff (eg. Hicham and others) have a strong work ethic, take their job of hospitality seriously, and have a genuine desire to assist you with any and every need. The entire experience was never, ever sullied by the hint or expectation of a "tip". The place is gorgeously appointed. The immersion in Moroccan decor - especially the lights, the tiles, the huge pottery jars and the carpets were a feast for the eyes. So much fun to wander around and absorb. A welcome bottle of wine and fresh flowers in the room was a perk. A reception drink, and daily afternoon tea and sweets was something to look forward to. Even the hallways smelled like fresh flowers. On the first morning, still suffering from jet lag and a headache, I had the ultimate treat - at the Maison Arabe breakfast buffet. 10/10. We were seated next to a warmer on a slightly cool morning, by the pool with glorious views and birds chirping. Lush and green. Two large cappuccino's hit the spot immediately. Exceptional food, plentiful and varied salads, juices, sausage and egg presentations. A lovely omelette station and separate crepe station were beautifully appointed, staffed, and, delicious. I was in heaven. At the end of this exceptional breakfast buffet that restored my health, I was treated to fresh hot mint tea that was poured in front of me from a great height (maybe 3.5 feet), by a skilled and friendly male staff member, and I was able to videotape it. A beautiful memory. Do the breakfast buffet!!!! Lastly, I need to mention the exceptional attentiveness and service from Mourad. On Day 3 when we got our rental car, there were some questions and uncertainties, and I was getting stressed. Meanwhile, the rental car delivery person vaporized into the ether. I went back into Maison Arabe (having just checked out of the hotel) in a tizzy, and Mourad was happy to immediately assist. He offered to speak to the rental car owner himself by phone, and assuaged my fears and worries. Mourad not only cleared up the situation, he provided for me his personal phone number to contact him if I had any difficulties on my road trip, to further allay my fears. I was grateful. Truly exceptional and kind. Who could ask for more? As it turns out, the road trip was fine. Five days later, back in Marrakech, by coincidence we ran into Mourad again in the laneway outside of Maison Arabe, who warmly and sincerely inquired about how things went. We were happy to tell him that everything went perfectly, and thank him again. As for the location in the Medina, it is perfection. Still within the Medina, but a nicer (yet still authentic) area - the Bab Doukkala area. Someone said "It's like walking onto an Indiana Jones set and the director yells" Action!" Mesmerizing to be immersed in the sights and hive of activity. I have nothing but amazing memories of La Maison Arabe and the staff at this hotel. A cut above. Do yourself a favor, and stay here - you deserve it.Written 18 March 2024
- cjames1340 contributionsTerrific Experience! We had high expectations for this experience and were still blown away by the quality of service provided at La Maison Arabe. The staff was friendly, knowledgeable, and always willing to jump in to assist or provide direction. The rooms and communal spaces were spotless and the rooftop restaurant provided one of the best views in the city. We will no doubt return to this hotel the next time we are in Marrakech.Written 17 March 2024
- bettygoestravelling0 contributionsIt's the staff that really make this hotel...La Maison Arabe is a historic maze of a hotel, with wonderful nooks & crannies hidden all over where you can sit back and relax. The location is brilliant - easy to find your way back to, right next to the Artisinal Market & Cyber Park, and only a leisurely 10 minute walk to the main square. There are wonderful public spaces - a cosy jazz bar, shaded pool-side restaurant, sun-drenched upper terraces, and courtyards throughout. Other amenities include a cookery school (half our group did this & couldn't speak highly enough about it), a spa (had a lovely if pricey hammam & massage) and access to their 'countryhouse' via shuttlebus, where there's an outdoor pool set in beautiful gardens. Every member of staff we met during our 4 night stay was friendly, helpful and attentive. They went above and beyond, helping us with various bookings, taxis & such like. The food was extremely good, but be prepared to pay high prices. Breakfast was excellent, but the highlight was the rooftop cafe (non-residents welcome), which served some exceptional dishes & fantastic cocktails. Also, shout out to Thomas the cat - superstar. Where our stay was let down was the bedroom itself. We purposely chose one of the cheaper rooms, as this was part of a much longer holiday across Morocco. That was a mistake. The room was so small that once our luggage was in there, you literally could barely walk around the bed. Again, the bathroom was so small and such an awkward shape, you had to open the door to put a robe on! I accidentally dropped something which rolled under the bed, and it was very dusty & hairy under there. Despite good toiletries & complimentary high quality tea/coffee, the room was simply not good value for money and if I was issuing stars for room-only, it would be 3*. However, the staff, the food and the overall hotel space make up for room.Written 17 March 2024
- joannecN5302RG0 contributionsBeautifulSuch a beautiful hotel. Perfectly located near the Medina. Amazing food and the staff go out of their way to look after you and make sure your stay is perfect. Be sure to try the Morrocan Salads and the Tagine. They will also help you find a guide to take you through the souks.Written 15 March 2024
- jimjC97NH0 contributionsA very nice hotel in busy MarrakechWe were very happy with La Maison Arabe. Marrakech is a busy city and it was a pleasure to return to this hotel to relax in a quiet setting. Our room was very nice, the restaurants are very good, and the service is excellent. The hammam was also very good; I had there what may be the best massage I've ever had. If we were to come back to Marrakech again, we would undoubtedly stay at La Maison Arabe again.Written 11 March 2024
- 77carriea0 contributionsAn incredible place to stay in MarrakechMy sister and I stayed for 5 nights in early March - everyone said that this was the start of the high season, but it didn't feel crowded or busy. The riad exceeds expectations. It is beautiful and feels completely authentic but with all the modern touches and comforts to make for a wonderful stay. Fabulous comfy beds, great bathroom and spacious bedroom with seating area. The staff are exceptional. They couldn't be more helpful, courteous and welcoming. They get to know you immediately and look after you all the time. The breakfast is outstanding - and mint tea and Moroccan pastries in the afternoon is a special (and free) treat. The dining area around the pool is atmospheric in the evening - to be recommended - and the country club is beautiful, easily accessed by the hotel minibus, quiet, private and an excellent place for lunch and a relaxing afternoon. Its only a short walk into the central square and souk and other historic sites to visit in the Medina making it an ideal base in Marrakech. This is a place that really does live up to its web-site in appearance, service and style. Highly recommended.Written 11 March 2024
- ChrisGoGators0 contributionsFantastic stayFantastic riad in heart of Medina. Short walk to everything. Rooms are bespoke, meals are amazing, cooking class best in Marrakech! But the absolute best part is the staff. Free access to their over-the-top country club. Highly recommend this property.Written 10 March 2024
- Trek210750851570 contributionsA must to visit this riad if you are in Marrakech!Authentic riad with first class service. The rooms are absolutely beautiful. I had a room over the pool and restaurant and enjoyed the soft Moroccan live music in the evenings. I tried everything at the restaurants and everything was very flavorful and well prepared. Breakfast every morning with amazing fresh hot coffee, beautiful homemade pancakes, omelets and a buffet of fresh fruits, homemade yogurt and beautiful salads. Luxury. Near the souks, restaurants and gardens. Perfect location. Try the hammam and take a massage at the riad, it was a genuinely lovely experience and very relaxing. Everyone at the hotel speaks fluent English and French so there is never any difficulty communicating with the staff and they go out of their way to accommodate any requests. I was a solo traveler and I never felt lonely and always felt very safe.Written 9 March 2024
- Glenn G0 contributionsGreat Place to Stay in MarrakechOutstanding accommodations. The walk between the room and the restaurant and reception is adorned with art, flowers, tile and applied ornament making for a truly unique memorable and beautiful experience. Having a pool in the center of the elegant restaurant is a nice touch for the restaurant, but not really a good place if you actually want to swim. We didn’t see anyone swimming but it was also cold in early March. There are heaters by the tables if you want to eat outside and also ample indoor seating. Our room was spacious and beautiful with an attached patio (that others could see, but not enter). Even though the room was next to the bar, it was silent in our room. Service was friendly and accommodating. Staying here made the trip to Marrakech delightful. Given its location and quality, I can’t think of a better place to stay.Written 5 March 2024
- Nomad6260290 contributionsAmazing hospitality in an amazing setting. We had very high expectations of our visit having read previous reviews, and we were not disappointed; in fact those expectations were exceeded. We were warmly welcomed and introduced to all the hotel's facilities and that set the tone for our seven day visit. Our overwhelming memory will be the charming, friendly and hugely helpful staff; on top of that our suite was excellent, the breakfast pancakes a great success, and in fact all the meals we consumed in the hotel by the pool and on the roof terrace were delicious. We loved our in-house cookery class, time spent in the hammam was special, and when you need a little respite from the city a visit to the country club is to be recommended. All in all, amazing.Written 4 March 2024
- miketX2137IR0 contributionsA gorgeous sanctuary in the heart of an amazing city.La Maison Arabe is a sanctuary in the heart of Marrakech. Step outside and you are in the bustling heart of the city, just a few minutes walk from the souks and the main square. Inside the hotel offers fabulous food, super comfortable beds and the rooms with rooftop terraces and baths are stunning. During our week-long stay, the service was faultless, the restaurant was amazing for both breakfast and dinner and the ambiance was exactly what we needed after the noise of the city beyond its walls. The cooking school was also an amazing experience as was the hammam and massage.Written 3 March 2024
- A78900 contributionsLove!Gorgeous, intimate, cozy and romantic Riad. The service was so personal. They were very kind and helpful as well. Great location, safe. Tons of amenities and activities. There is a heated pool. There is a lounge with daily live jazz. The breakfast is nice with a live omelet and live bread station by the pool. There is a gorgeous cave like spaWritten 3 March 2024
- TXDarkhorse0 contributionsBeautiful Ambiance & a Really Great Dining ExperienceBeautiful Restaurant & Reasonable Pricing. We found this place after a recommendation from Aziz, the Concierge at our hotel. Amazing location on a very small side street by the Medina area. Cab dropped us 50 meters from the front door. Excellent menu, offering a wide variety of meat, lamb, chicken & seafood. This white tablecloth restaurant provided us with excellent service, a great wine recommendation & a very enjoyable evening that included live music & a singer. Dinner for 4 with appetizer, bottle of good wine & two deserts to share was $244 US or just under 2,400 Dr. I highly recommend & plan on going back later this week to try something different! Enjoy!Written 3 March 2024
- Scenic039138537080 contributionsSpectacular property and staff! This is one of the most magical experiences I’ve ever had. The location, incredible food and ambience are simply incredible. The warm and professional hotel staff are the best I’ve encountered! Our family made wonderful memories and can’t wait to return.Written 3 March 2024
- ManchesterPaula0 contributionsA great place to stayThe hotel is gorgeous, staff couldn't do enough for you and we thoroughly enjoyed our stay. The breakfast buffet was impressive with lots of salads as well as hot food and we had a fantastic dinner in the restaurant. The scallop and mango starter was one of the best starters I've ever had. Would recommend visiting the roof top bar above the cookery school and their 'secret garden' with an amazing pool which is a 20 minute shuttle bus ride away. Would definitely return.Written 29 February 2024

La Maison Arabe hosted a beautiful cooking lesson that really focused on traditional Moroccan dishes. Not only did we cook two different tangine's and two different salads, we also baked cookies and witnessed the making of the traditional thé a la menthe. The staff was so knowledgeable and helpful with their instructions, and shared the history of the dishes themselves. Then we proceeded to the beautiful patio area to enjoy the fruits of our labor. I would highly recommend this workshop to anyone visiting Marrakech.

The workshop was exceptional Lu well run and out guide (Mahsa?) gave us an excellent overview of the culinary experience of Morocco. My wife my kid and I then proceeded in short order to cook a full meal including two dips, a typical tajine poulet au citron and traditional bread in under three hours. All great fun.

It was great and the instructors were very charismatic. We definitely learnt a lot about cooking Moroccan tagine chicken. And then got to eat it at the end, together with the rest of the participants at the cooking class. However, AND BEAR IN MIND, they then started taking orders for what to drink to the food. And they don't mention this but they absolutely charge you for it - which makes sense, but we all felt a bit fooled after, when the bill for the drinks came (that they made it seem like they were free).

We really enjoyed the cooking class, it was very well organised and a great way to learn just a little about Moroccan cuisine. The class included cooking a chicken tagine from scratch and a demonstration of preparing traditional Moroccan tea with saffron. After the class we enjoyed the dish we had cooked as a group in delightful surroundings. A great to spend an enjoyable hour in Marrakech, thank you.

We really enjoyed the morning cookery class. The introduction session was a gentle introduction to the tea making rituals and also to the spices used in Moroccan cooking, as well as giving some background as to the importance of food to the Moroccan culture. The kitchen session was fun and was followed by lunch where we spent some more time getting to know our fellow ‘chefs’! I can highly recommend this as a fun activity!

We loved this half day cookery class with al fresco lunch in the beautiful surroundings of the Maison Arabe Country Club. It was a perfect family activity to do with our three young adults. Very well organised, clean and the staff were super friendly. A free take-home traditional cooking pot was the icing on the cake. Would recommend highly.

This was a highlight of our trip. Wafa was kind, knowledgeable and gave great insight as to the history, culture and culinary customs of Marrakech. Habiba was the best, sweetest master chef. Kitchen so well organized, clean, hands-on and dining on rooftop terrace with our cooking was magical!

We had a spectacular and superb experience in this most beautiful setting. We had an amazing welcome with tea and flatbread, then we sat in a beautiful garden and had a short explanation of the Moroccan cuisine. We then moved in an amazing and stunning kitchen, everybody had a stove, and everything was beautifully prepared. The chef Habiba was lovely and explained everything before we cooked our own dish. At the end we ate the dishes in the garden. Everything was extremely professional, and the customer service and staff were simply top. If you read this, the book this class, you are guaranteed to have an exceptional and amazing experience.
We will be back :)

This was one of the highlights of my trip! We did the 1- hour cooking class and it was fantastic! The kitchen is spotless, both of the women that you work with (I am sorry I forget their names) are amazing! You learn how to make chicken tajin from scratch and it was delicious. While the chicken cooks, you also learn how tea is made. Once it's finished, you enjoy your chicken tagine on the terrace with dipping bread. It was a wonderful afternoon. The next time I return to Marrakech, I will be sure to do the 3-hour long course. This is a wonderful cooking class and I HIGHLYYYY recommend it! I wish I could give rate this 1 0 stars!!

For the morning 3H lunch session that starts at 10am, what time can I expect to finish? Also, what location is this held at (Riad or country club)? I have to leave for the airport around 2pm for a 4:10pm flight, and wondering if I will have enough time to get back to my riad to pick up my luggage and get to the airport on time.

I think you can make it but it will be close, when we took the 3 hr cooking class we had tea, learned about the food , walked around the corner to the local bread oven and cooked for about hour and half and then went up stairs to eat. the entire experience took about 3 hours and we hungout and talked after the meal. The class was in the Riad but i think it was listed as the largest Riad in the city. They have an amazing setup for learning to cook. everyone has a personal cooking station with a tv screen to watch what the instructor is doing.

Hello,
I would reserve a cooking class for kefta tajine at 11.30 but I can’t choose the menu and the time of the lesson. On the website is only possible to choose lunch or dinner.
It’s right if I write my choose in the special request space at the end of the form?
Thank you!!

Not at this location...one person per station. However my husband does not cook and he had an absolute ball doing this. No real skill needed...they help you along if you get stuck.

I would allow at least an hour after you finish the class. A first course, main course with a desert and then “thank you/goodbye”. It’s a nice experience and may be worth taking the time to enjoy what you’re cooked and learned and even new people you may have met.

Do do the course it’s awesome and a lovely place with lovely people xx
