Overview
Get off the beaten path to explore the wild side of Molokini on this 6-hour, small-group eco-adventure from Maui. The small, crescent-shaped island of Molokini is an extinct volcanic crater with a thriving coral reef, home to more than 250 species of fish and 38 species of coral. Hop aboard a 64-foot, single-deck catamaran and jump in the water for a snorkel at the mid-ocean reef. Then cruise around Molokini's rugged, red rock back wall, home to a variety of seabirds. Snorkeling equipment plus a continental breakfast and buffet lunch are included.
What to Expect
This small group eco-adventure travels off the beaten path to the wild side of Molokini. It includes an opportunity to visit one or more reefs where sea turtles are plentiful to observe these fascinating marine reptiles. This cruise is led by a team of certified Marine Naturalists and U.S. Coast Guard certified captain. It's based on our decades of marine research, including an extensive study of Molokini's fish, corals and wildlife.

This tour departs in the morning from Ma'alaea Harbor and rally doesn't have a set itinerary.  Depending on conditions, they will often head first down towards La Peruse Bay in search of wild dolphins before heading to Molokini. After snorkeling this remarkable mid-ocean reef, you'll cruise around Molokini's rugged red rock back wall. If ideal conditions exist, you may have the opportunity to do a free float snorkel off of the back wall of the crater.  Birdwatchers alsobe ready: you'll often sight seabirds such as wedge-tailed shearwaters and great frigatebirds that roost here!

And then you'll set off to explore, stopping to view wildlife and snorkel at one or two sea turtle habitats. Explore on your own or take part in a guided reef tour led by our knowledgeable naturalist.

Great experience.

I wanted to stay away from the “big boat” snorkeling tours while here. The idea of another hundred plus people didn’t sound fun at all. Our trip on the “Wild Side” was just that. Smaller boat, less than 40 people, 3 man/woman crew. Took a...More
