      Great tour, outstanding value!
This tour was a joy! Getting to Waiheke Island from AKL could not have been easier. As soon as I arrived on the ferry, I was met by our tour guide Craig who was a lovely person and a wealth of knowledge. There were 15 of us on the tour which made for a nice balance of socializing/meeting new people while not feeling overcrowded. The wineries chosen for us (Kennedy Point, Batch and Casita Miro) were all beautiful in their own unique ways. We also had time to take a drive around the island and gaze at the beautiful beaches. For those of us who wanted a bit more wine to taste, Craig was kind enough to drop us at a gorgeous winery called Mudbrick before parting ways. Word of advice: if you wish to stick around the island for more drinking, beaching, etc., reserve a cab to take you back to the ferry. By the time we were ready to go, there was a backup (luckily one found us on the road as we were walking to the ferry). All told this was a really glorious day and an absolutely excellent value.

      Warm congenial tour operator
Lovely tour! Jenny, the owner, went out of her way to personalize our tour. Due to some unfortunate circumstances we were late for our tour. Jenny made sure that we enjoyed as full a tour as possible. She was delightful and cannot recommend this tour company enough

      Excellent day trip
Our trip was amazing. Debbie was knowledgeable about the island, the history of winemaking and living on the island. Her relationships with each winery optimized our experience with efficiency with the tastings. The uniqueness of each winery added to the overall experience. Highly recommend!

      Delicious and Beautiful Day
The Gourmet Food and Wine Tour with Janis was absolutely fantastic and worth every penny. He was so knowledgeable and excited about Waiheke, and it was so much fun getting his local expertise. The 3 wineries were equally gorgeous and delicious. Lunch at Casita Miro was a delight. I loved that we also had time to walk around a bit and see the water in several locations. My only regret is we didn’t allot any extra time to spend on the island after the tour because by the end I felt really connected to it.

      Winner!
Michael was a wonderful guide for our food and wine tour. He seemed genuinely invested in keeping us engaged (and not losing any of us winos!). I enjoyed all the wine and pairings. Standouts were the Syrah at Kennedy and Chardonnay at Casita Miro. My tip: if you place an order, realize that you can bundle bottles from all the wineries you visit to get the best shipping rates. I missed that direction and completed my ordered at the first winery, but wished I would have ordered from more places.

Ananda swiftly mobilized to tailor our tour and delivered amazing experiences on 48 hours notice
Ananda went above and beyond for us! We had booked the half day gourmet tour but decided the Saturday before the Monday, during the busiest week of the year (between Christmas and New Years) that we would like to do a private tour. Brooke at Ananda scrambled and spent hours of her busy Saturday morning crafting a bespoke tour of the Allpress olive farm, and the Mudbrick winery. To add to that, when we met our guide Jo, she mentioned that there was another winery which had recently won Best Syrah in the World, as well as Best New Zealand wine and Best Organic Red Wine—Kennedy Point. She mobilized and set up a private tour for us there while we were enjoying the olive farm tour, and we were fortunate to not only taste the actual triple award winning wine, but also meet the winemaker Randall. Jo them showed us other parts of the island and shared history and cultural anecdotes, and took us to a lunch (again, reserved at a busy time at the last minute by Brooke) on a beautiful beach. Bottom line, Ananda moved swiftly and well to create a bespoke tour for us with a lot of care and support. We will use them in the future and heartily recommend them!

It was a great experience, we really enjoyed our day. Our tour guide Simon was very knowledgeable. It was only a small group and we got to enjoy each other's company. Highly recommended even for a non wine drinker.

This was a great tour to do! I had limited time in Auckland so a half day tour was great.
Everything was well organised after booking. I received my ferry ticket by email with clear instructions where to board. Those on the tour were collected by the driver when we reached Waiheke Island. All very friendly and efficient.

Our driver provided a great amount of details regarding Waiheke Island, life there, history and plenty of detail on each of the vineyards we visited, which were Batch l, Goldie Estate and Mudbrick.

The wine tasting was professional, fun and informative. I had the good fortune to be with a great group of people the day we did it, making it even more fun.

We had a great lunch at the Goldie Estate.

This tour is definitely worth doing and I would recommend to anyone who wants a bit of a taste of the vineyards of Waiheke Island.

The first thing was how easy and effortless Ananda made the whole experience. They very patiently addressed all my questions and concerns promptly and efficiently.
The tour itself was wonderful. Simon was a great tour guide and the wineries were all in beautiful locations with great food pairings to match the wines. The olive oil tasting was a fun and different spin.
We thoroughly enjoyed the tour and would recommend it highly
One caveat, let Ananda also handle your ferry ticket. I think the terminal could be confusing since it’s very busy but they sent the tickets with very good instructions.

Thanks for this wonderful feedback Lois! We're so happy you enjoyed our tour with Simon and your day on Waiheke. Great advice with the ferry tickets too, we are always happy to assist with this as during these summer months it can get very busy at the ferry terminal. Thanks for choosing Ananda Tours! The Waiheke Island Premium Food & Wine Tour with Platter Lunch was FANTASTIC! Our guide, Simon, was energetic, insightful, charismatic, and super informative, going above and beyond at every turn. Pick up at the ferry was seamless – from start to finish it was a relaxing and easy experience. We learned a lot at each winery we visited and were given generous servings of both wine and snacks at each location. The island itself is absolutely gorgeous, and the wineries we visited all had great views! The lunch at the end of the tour was absolutely delicious and copious. Could not recommend this tour and this company enough! A tremendous value.

The scenery on Waiheke Island is stunning, the winery selection is average other than Mudbrick. The food and service was average at the first winery we went to. The tour guide’s knowledge of the region is good, however her delivery was tired and needs improvement. She also came across pushy at times although delays in service were out of our control.

We had a shaky start trying to gather the group as the ferries were overcrowded and thus we were running behind schedule. At the first winery (Batch), there was no tasting but we had a free glass of wine with our lunch. The other two wineries (Obsidian and Mud Brick) were traditional tastings and we had some time to wander around Mud Brick to enjoy the incredible views! All in all it ended up being a good day but our guide (Karyn) drove very fast and caused some to feel car sick.

The half day tour with Michael was awesome, he drove us around the island giving an interesting commentary and stopping off at scenic lookouts as time allowed. He was friendly and knowledgeable. We visited 3 lovely wineries where we did wine tastings and had a lunch platter and glass of wine at Stony Ridge. I would highly recommend this tour :)

Michael is a terrific guide and, well, just a genuinely nice fella.

He went out of his way to make sure we had the best time, and that we got the best out of the experience. Having him with us made a wonderful afternoon even better.

PS...Just a side note for Ananda. It might be a good idea to advise customers coming on the ferry that it could be busy on the Auckland side, and to get there early as there might be long lines.

Thoroughly enjoyed this tour, Jude was a wonderful guide and we met some great people from around the world. We went to three wineries on the island, all of which had something unique to offer, then had lunch at 372 located by the beach which was delicious. The only downside was that the coach had very limited leg room. We would definitely do this tour again.
