- gatorkam0 contributionsVineyard strollSpent the day on Waiheke with our tour guide Justine. Beautiful weather and the scenery was a 10 out of 10. Justine took the time to inform us on the plant and animal life and was super fun. We did two tastings and we really enjoyed our tasting at Mudbrick and finished with a picnic lunch at the beach.Written 14 January 2025
- Nomad041682524830 contributionsTruly Memorable! The island is inspirational. Our guide, Justine, helped us understand how the native plant species are returning over the last 40 years, how great efforts are being made to eliminate non-native predator species in order to better protect native bird and other animal species, and how the various communities of people on the island volunteer their time to make this possible. No better way to learn about these things than walking along the paths through the bush and along the beach. Justine also paid very close attention to our interests and our needs during this journey, ultimately making every difference in the world for making this day truly memorable. We highly recommend this tour, and specifically our guide Justine, from Terra and Tide!Written 13 January 2025
- Escape429831500030 contributionsBest Shuttle serviceA group of 12 spent Friday 10th Jan 2025 on Waiheke - Gabrielle and her team from Terra & Tide were fantastic. From the pre-booking info all the way through the event it was smooth and effective and they made the day special. Gabrielle and her team have huge knowledge of Waiheke Island and shared this with our group of adults and teenagers. We highly recommend for getting around the island and will be back to use the shuttle services again!Written 12 January 2025
- H4858QZsarahy0 contributionsUnforgettable day in the gulf!We had the most amazing day sailing in the gulf! Gabrielle and Bruce were terrific hosts. They were so knowledgeable about the flora, fauna and history of the gulf. They are passionate about conservation and have insight into all the conservation efforts in the area. Their love for their home environment is contagious. We loved the bush walk and learned so much. We saw many native birds and learned about the forest regeneration efforts. We sailed, snorkeled, paddle boarded and hiked. The lunch was delicious! I would highly recommend this tour! Booking and communication were easy and the day was unforgettable!Written 10 January 2025

- marcuslZ9528TN0 contributionsA really great day outThe walk was hosted by Cindy who was very welcoming on arrival at the ferry terminal. Her local knowledge was very useful for choosing the best paths for the group ability and weather conditions on the day. There was plenty of interesting information on the history and geography of the islands together with a wealth of knowledge of the native plants and the efforts made to regenerate the island‘s forests.Written 1 January 2025
- MaestralIntl0 contributionsA great start to our vacation! Our delightful guide Robyn gave us a terrific intro to NZ fauna, flora, geology and wines. A relatively easy hike with beautiful views and two lovely vineyard stops. Fantastic jet lag buster and very highly recommended.Written 29 December 2024
- Fearless059828338600 contributionsSuper Fun family bush and beach walk experienceThe bush and beach walk was an absolute blast! Our guide, Cindy, was the best. She was incredibly knowledgeable, warm, and shared a wealth of information during our walk. Keeping the kids in our group engaged was a huge achievement, considering their ages. The picnic sandwiches were delicious, and the transportation was very comfortable. Waiheki is such a beautiful island. We’ll definitely be back and staying there next time to fully immerse ourselves in its natural beauty. Overall, it was a fantastic experience for our entire group. We highly recommend it!Written 28 December 2024
- U9307EYjulies0 contributionsGreat full day of hiking and wine tasting! We really enjoyed this tour both for the beautiful views and the wine tasting. A highlight however, was the olive oil tasting at Allpress. We actually had a number of olive oils shipped home. Justine was a wonderful tour guide, both for her bubbly personality and knowledge of the area. She also worked hard to make sure that the tour was everything we wanted including making sure that we tried a wine that may now have been on our list, but was something I wanted to try.Written 27 December 2024
- jessesM5839IK0 contributionsA personalized tour to remember. The ladies were very knowledgeable. I felt they took us to places such as an Art Gallery and vineyard where others could not take us. They listened to us in designing the tour and cared that we enjoyed the experience. We have no reservations in recommending them for the design of a personalized tour.Written 24 December 2024
- Erik J0 contributionsFun mix of activity and tastingWe had a great time on the Bush Walk & Wine Tour on Waiheke Island! Our guide, Robyn, was outstanding — knowledgeable, adaptable, and fun. Even though it rained, we made the most of it and had an enjoyable experience. The tour offered a nice mix of activity and wine tasting. Thanks, Robyn! Would recommendWritten 16 December 2024
- kathyoS5553GP0 contributionsFabulous day of touring and wine tasting.Dell was the BEST guide we could have asked for. She was welcoming, knowledgeable, friendly, informative. Dell knew so much about the history of Māori and of the island. The day we went it was raining but because of Dell it turned out to be a fantastic day. I highly recommend this tour company and definitely ask for Dell!!!Written 16 December 2024
- Roving668126073390 contributionsGet away and relax on this track and beach tour on WaihekeI had a great time with Lucy walking the trails and beaches. The walk fit my pace, and Lucy even lent me some trekking poles for the moderate downhill for my aging knees. She described the birds and trees so that I could appreciate the best of the island. The trip included a tasty sandwich and fruit at a picnic table at the beach, and a stop for gelato on the way back to the ferry. Sign up now for a great day out of Auckland!Written 13 December 2024

This was a 5 day walk circumventing Waiheke Island, however I joined friends for the first 2 days. The walk was just the right amount of challenge and interesting. Gabrielle provided us with comprehensive notes of the walk and the history of the areas we walked. The food was extremely generous and delicious and on both days there were places to stop for refreshments. I would absolutely recommend Terra and Tide as they looked after us well.

Walking around Waiheke was a great way to spend time with family whilst getting some exercise in a beautiful environment. There was good varied terrain punctuated by stops at wineries, the gin distillery, sculpture garden and many stunning views. Gabrielle's hosting was fantastic, with an abundance of delicious food and very comfortable lodgings.
