booked the Ananda Food and Wine tour as the first event of my three day visit to Waiheke, and it was the perfect way to get acquainted with the island. Kay met our group at the Ferry Terminal and chatted knowledgeably about the island and the wineries throughout the trip, and she gave me ideas for "must see" places for the rest of my visit. The four vineyards we visited were all lovely and distinct from each other, and we had a delightful lunchtime meal at Passage Rock's restaurant. Kay was even kind enough to drop me off at my local accommodation after the tour.

We thoroughly enjoyed our small group tour with Michael on Waiheke Island. The ferry ride to/from Auckland was an added bonus. We were surrounded by a regatta upon our return to the city, which was really cool.

Traveling in the comfortable van, we saw a lot of the island and never had to worry about driving or getting lost between wineries. We loved the wineries selected, and one of them was also a micro-brewery, which our traveling partner who prefers beer really appreciated. The vineyards and setting were spectacular and wines delicious. There was no hard-sell to buy wines, but in some cases, we couldn't resist. Michael was a great guide and host throughout the afternoon.

This is a great tour. You are taken to four vineyards so it lasts about 5 1/2 hours. You have lunch at one of the vineyards and frankly that lunch was one of the best meals I have had in NZ. Our guide , Nick, was great and made an effort so that we two Americans, the two Aussies and one Swiss got acquainted which was part of the fun. There is a lot of wine, a great beer place and many many beautiful views.

What a trip! We had the most amazing afternoon with our tour guide Dennis exploring the amazing scenery of the island as well as some wonderful wineries. Dennis was so knowledgeable, yet made the experience very fun and laid back. We thoroughly enjoyed the small group setting as it allowed you to get to know the group and create a more interactive experience. We were able to see a large amount of of the island which just added to the amazing experience learning about the history and taking in the beautiful views. Thanks Dennis! We will be back!

Thank you, Emily, for taking the time to share with us this amazing review! We will make sure Dennis gets to see this lovely feedback too. We love exploring the wineries out on the eastern end of the island too as the views are always incredible out there. We hope you do make it back to our beautiful island sometime! All the best for 2020! Thanks again, Jenny and the Ananda Team

We did this tour yesterday and had a wonderful time. Jo was an excellent tour guide with an in depth knowledge of both the island, the wineries, and their histories. All the wineries were an experience in them selves with amazing wines, enthusiastic sommeliers and, in the case of Passage Rock winery, delicious food. My partner and I highly recommend this tour.

A well prepared, fun and premium tour! Great variety of beautiful and boutique vineyards. From the helicopter pads to the cellar door sheds, you really learn and experience all aspects of Waiheke. The platter - Passage Rock & your chef, you have outdone yourself! Lyn from Awaroa and Canada from Obsidian, boy do you know how to work a room! Beautiful Red & White wines at all Wineries! But enough about the Tour, we must discuss our wonderful tour guide. Michael, your enthusiasm, communication skills, personable service and love for the Island made this tour everything and more. A true ambassador for Waiheke (The Long Sheltering Island!) and Ananda (Happiness, Bliss) - and yes! We learnt this from him and so much more.

There are many tours you can take around Waiheke but Ananda's was the best choice. We didn't want to spend the whole day touring (it was Melbourne Cup) so we chose the Artisan food and wine tour. Quickly after booking the tour we received great instructions on how to start our adventure. We followed our instructions to pick up our tickets from the Fullers ticket office near the main ferry building (It is actually a separate building). After arriving we were very quickly met by the tour guide who was a local. We visited some great wineries which were highlighted by local knowledge. We also stopped at scenic and historical areas to learn more about the island as well as taking some great photos.

Without a doubt one of the better wine tours I have ever been on.

From start to finish, every part of our experience was enjoyable. We met our tour guide Jo at the wharf and set out to visit some fine wineries. All three venues were first class and the wines themselves were excellent and not presented in a pretentious way. Lunch was at an excellent restaurant with a good view from the dining patio area and the mixed platter was as good as any I have ever tried. Jo was both knowledgeable and experienced with good people skills, making the whole trip hassle feel and giving the experience just that little bit extra. My wife is not a serious wine drinker but did not feel left out when the tastings were being presented. If you want to do the island in style, I would recommend this trip.

Mo met us promptly at 12:35 pm at the Waiheke Island ferry. From there we were off to our 3 wineries and 1 brewery(actually the brewery was one of the wineries that also brews beer - you could choose to have wine or beer). At all of the wineries we had a designated area and server. Lunch was provided at Stonyridge and it was incredible. They gave each couple a delicious and generous charcuterie/cheese tray. Our server at Mudbrick, Dean, was entertaining and a wealth of information. Mo kept us on schedule and was accommodating to one couple that needed to be dropped off for a dinner reservation and got the rest of us to the 6 pm ferry back to Auckland. Mo shared with us a lot of information about the island where he has lived for 15 years. It was a very enjoyable afternoon~

We had a really amazing time on this afternoon tour of Waiheke Island. Although we were staying on the Island we met the tour at the wharf, however our guide Jo was kind enough to take us back to our accommodation at the end of the tour (something you can request on booking). Jo was an excellent guide, providing information on the area as we drove around and taking us to some great photo spots during the tour. The wine tasting at each winery was lovely. We enjoyed the food pairing at Peacock Sky and the platter lunch at Stonyridge. We were huge fans of the chance to try island brewed beer at Boogie Van Brewery and the final stop at Mudbrick Vineyard was a wonderful opportunity to take in stunning views in a gorgeous setting. The tour comes highly recommended and was a great relaxed way to take in local wine and beer with good food and company :)
