Bus always on time at stops. We were lucky enough to be the only passengers on our bus (not good for tourism I know) but we were able to chat to the driver/owner and got a lot of information that way. By the time you pay for tasting which are included in all the other tours I have done, shuttle to the start and home afterwards you will end up paying substantially more than a hosted tour with pick up and drop off, where the guide stays with you and departs when you are finished and takes you straight to the next cellar door, not stopping to drop off and pick up other tasters. If you buy wine you have to take it off the bus at each stop and then take it back on afterwards, if as happened to us the drop you at a cellar door and drive off which is busy you either have to wait 1 hour if you are not too mobile or in our case walk 20 minutes carrying 2 dozen bottle to another. We hoped to do 7 or 8 wineries we just managed five and at two did not have time to finish our tasting and lunch before the bus arrived. If you are considering doing this tour think about what you will get, it may suit a group that get one tasting and share it and who don't care which wineries they visit, alternatively book somewhere else and tell them which wineries you want to visit.

We pride ourselves on being a less expensive way to explore the region. We do not believe that once you add tastings our prices exceed other tours. Just having a very quick look on Viator as a comparison we are less than half price of other tours (4 tastings would usually cost you between $20- $40). We are also not just a winery tour, we stop at tourist attractions, cafes, a confectionary store and breweries.
You have spent a lot of time describing other tours and what they do - I am unsure to the point of this? Clients can read what we offer themselves.
Some of your information seems to be factually incorrect:
If you buy wine on our tours you absolutely do NOT have to take it off the bus and carry it with you all day. You can leave it with our drivers and collect it at the end of the day.
We would also never leave any clients waiting at a cellar door for 1 hour if the venue was fully booked. We encourage clients to book tastings where necessary and have information surrounding each stop on our website regarding this. We also communicate with venues frequently to ensure we are aware if a venue has stopped taking clients due to reaching capacity (this is very rare).
We would never advise our clients that 7/8 wineries in a day is achievable. At best we would say 5 maximum (most wineries close at 4pm!)
If you want to stay longer at a venue you are very welcome too - you can simply jump on the next bus. I find it interesting that you mention you have to wait a long time due to the bus timings but then claim that you were rushed? Additionally, all times are listed on the timetable which is on our website thus allowing you to plan your day and time at each stop accordingly to ensure you are NEVER rushed.
We think you may be confused as to which wine tour you went on - we haven't had any guests in Marlborough purchase two cases of wine this season?
In regards to your comment about 'it may suit a group that get one tasting and share it and who dont care which wineries they visit' - it doesnt relate to our product at all as we have over 25 stops and the beauty of our tour is that the client can choose where they stop.
We are disappointed with the lack of factual information in your review and therefore invite you to contact us directly to discuss the matter. As such we have also reported this review to Trip Advisor.
We cannot locate your name on our booking reservation system (which is why we think you have never travelled with us). We also noted you made a review for a winery not listed on our tour (which seems odd and points to you being on a different tour, if any). Ru, our driver and guide was a great guy
It swings by 24 cellar doors every hour and you just turn up ready for the next trip to another. My wife seems to be taking it very seriously and making notes. By the end of the day we were singing along to “Chicken Fried” by Zac Brown, with the kiwi’s

Had to sprint to get on one minibus after my first stop in Blenheim when it was preparing to leave early, even though I got there about 15 minutes before the departure time. Later I had to wait 55 minutes at the last stop to get a minibus back to Picton, when the service was stated to depart every 30 minutes. One driver in the middle of the day was on time to arrive and depart (he was on loan from the Queenstown service), had good banter and was an overall credit to the company. Altogether, my day was unnecessarily anxiety-inducing because at least one driver didn't pay attention to the stated departure times.

We thoroughly enjoyed our day on this tour. It was just the two of us. We opted to have Hop on Hop off give us an itinerary suggestion and then make reservations for our tastings. Some wineries require a reservation but some do not. We were given a huge welcome at each one. It is a little rushed as you want to be ready for the pickup time. But that is our choice. We could always just hang back and relax. Overall we preferred the smaller boutique wineries. The driver was great. Very fun. Explained things well. And gave general information about the area and New Zealand.

Easy booking. Picked up in Picton bang on time. A quick chat about what to expect and then we were off to Blenheim. There were only four of us on tour so very personalised service.
We did several stops all of which were great experiences. At the end of a very well put together day we were dropped back to our accommodation.
This is a locally owned and operated business and if you want a fun day out book the hop on hop off bus.

What a fantastic concept, you jump on the bus at Picton or Blenheim and jump off at whichever of the wineries or heritage sites on the route takes your fancy. Then jump back on when the bus comes back around and continue on to the next one. We visited the Wine Station, Wither Hills, Framingham & Saint Clair wineries with a final stop at Makana chocolate factory. Couldn't fault the service and our driver was a lovely, friendly lady. Just the best day out and highly recommended.

RU, our Hop On Hop Off Bus driver was excellent. Told us about wineries, history and general info. I recommend this type of wine tasting experience to all - just make sure to plan it and make necessary appointments in advance.

Some organisation without the super aggressive woman trying to sort people into buses!
We arrived off a cruise ship and while most ship tours were booked out, the helpful people at the nearby I site suggested the Hop on Bus.
Total disorganisation when trying to,purchase tickets and an aggressive women ordering people on and then off buses. Driver was polite and friendly but a number of wineries were closed on the Monday. Wait times between buses were longer than we were informed and then our bus broke down! No confidence in this business!

We are sorry to hear you did not enjoy our tour.
We have never had a breakdown on our tours so we are querying if you were on our tour.
All our buses are on GPS so we are able to see in real time which would allow us to see any breakdowns which have never happened.
Our cruise ship days are extremely busy with clients of over 100 often booking. Most of these are spontaneous once clients arrive in port. We understand that clients are in a new and unfamiliar location and therefore try to make everyone feel as welcome as possible. Managing so many numbers in one space/time does take a Manager with authoritative persona and that would be what you are referring too.
In terms of the wineries being closed, we have over 25 stops to choose from and buses every 30 minutes to ensure that no one is waiting around or has no venue to hop off at.
The reason our buses may be late is because we make safety our number priority and with traffic/roadworks in the region this is usually the reason for any delays.

Miracle workers, we arrived by cruise ship and had limited time in Picton to explore. They arrange a great day and were on time and able to accommodate the early departure from port of our cruse ship.
They knew there stuff the wineries they took us to were fantastic and the driver (Warren) great guy.
Great experience highly recommend them, we were concerned about port times and getting back to the ship so had booked a shore tour from the ship. To the wineries only to have it cancelled by the ship for operation reasons, as it turned out, for the best because the tour and service we got from Hop on Hop off was fantastic and all 12 of us that did it rated as the best tour of the cruise. If you are visiting Picton call this guys as it was a great experience

A must do experience & so much fun. Our driver Jo was fantastic & made us all feel so welcome & all stops were on time.
Great food & tasting platters along with great wines & the Gin place
