Great way to spend the day!
Wonderful experience with our tour guide and Latvian Gem. Easy booking and very laid back day. He was knowledgeable, down to earth and fun to spend the day with. We stopped at a few places along the way and he took us around a couple of unique places in Riga before the day was done. Highly recommended.

An amazing experience by an amazing guide!
Krista was an amazing guide! From pickup to drop off it was a really friendly and fun experience. The drive to and from is a great time to take in the countryside of Latvia and Lithuania and Krista has lots of great stories and information about the area to share. She was very attentive and offered plenty of opportunities to get lots out of the trip outside on the way to the hill of crosses. The hill of crosses is a beautiful place and it's lovely to get to contribute a cross to the site. I'd greatly recommend this to everyone

Krista is extremely knowledgeable on all aspects of the places you will visit. As well as this on the way she fills in info on places you pass by! You learn also about the country in general. I would highly recommend you to go on this trip.

      Very unusual place
Utterly weird, but fascinating destination. Janis was lovely and the whole trip was absolutely worth it. Crossing the border is a bonus.

      A day well spent
Our family had a fantastic tour with Janis. He was a knowledgable and energetic tour guide, and we truly enjoyed his company for the day. He was attentive if we needed to stop, and kept our tour on track. The Hill of Crosses was an incredible and unique experience, and well worth the trip. I would definitely recommend this trip!

Great experience with a wonderful host
We normally dont do private tours like this, but this one might change that in the future. We had a wonderful time with Krista. We got interesting facts about Riga, Jelgava and the Hill of crosses, but what we found even more special were the insights on Baltic and Latvian culture. The Trip was entertaining and the conversation was easy. We really recommend doing this tour or any other tour with Krista.

      Unique place.
A very ingteresting place; a visit is highly recommended. Sintia was a really good guide. She was on time, communicative and good at describing the stops along the way, and explaining their history.

      Profesional and Fun!
Great experience on a private tour with Janis. Was flexible with our early 7am start to catch the sunset, a lot of energy despite the early hour, gave great insight into both countries and was an efficient driver . We enjoyed covering culture, history and many other topics. Tour company was professional and easy to work with. They contacted me about last minute availability which I really appreciated !

Amazing trip to the Hill of Crosses
The driver/guide Erlens arrived bang on time and was incredibly knowledgeable about not only the Hill of Crosses but also about Latvian history. The Hill of Crosses itself is one of the most beautiful and bizarre places I've ever visited. We pretty much had the place to ourselves and the silence there is amazing. The stops at Jelgava and the Latvia/Lithuania border were a nice touch that broke up the journey. Would highly recommend this company, very professional and good value for money.

Fantastic excursion with an excellent guide
Krista made our day. No only did she suggest the location but she also planned the tour considering our needs of all kinds such as food breaks, restroom breaks, alternative routes taking into account weather conditions, and our time frame. Definitely worth a strong recommendation!! Krista‘s personality is also worth mentioning: having her as a guide feels like walking with a friend. Thanks so much for this fantastic day.

Krista on behalf of Peter, Andy and myself (Lee) we want to thank you for such a wonderful day. Your personality is so wonderful and we enjoyed your local knowledge and stories……plus all the extra things you added into our day trip that was not advertised. Excellent trip.
Everything was perfect. Erlens picked us up on time and was very informative throughout the day. He spoke about different places we passed through and answered many questions. He also stopped at the border for photos, took us to a little coffee house, and a beautiful church. Nothing was too much trouble for him. The highlight was the hill of crosses. I think you have to be there to feel the atmosphere. Had a lovely day and would highly recommend.

The Hill of Crosses was particularly engaging, a bit haunting, really. And very unique! Janis was sociable and had various helpful insights into Latvian history and culture. I also really enjoyed chatting with my tour mates.

When you book a tour, everything depends on the person who guides you. It's like at school: you might like or dislike a subject depending on your teacher. The subjects themselves are really interesting: they absolutely worth a visit and how everything has been planned is not tiring.
However, what we appreciated the most was her: how interesting and knowledgeable she is, the way she gets excited for little things, her eyes constantly smiling, her way to give us our space and time to visit the points of interest, her availability to help us, her welcoming nature. She is just brilliant and genuine.
Thanks Krista: we have been so pleased to meet you.

What an amazing trip. Would 100% recommend. Hill of crosses was what we initially wanted to see but so glad we went with this tour as the Palace is amazing and the view from the tower at Bauska Castle was stunning. What really made the tour even better was our Guide for the day Janis who was so knowledgeable and lovely. He even stopped at the border for us all so we could take the obligatory tourist selfie of one foot in Latvia and the other in Lithuania 😀

I had an incredible time on the tour, exploring the majestic palace and some hearty soup, the tower, and the enchanting Hill of Crosses. The rich history and breathtaking views made it an unforgettable experience. The tour guide's knowledge and enthusiasm added immense value, enhancing my appreciation for the sites. Highly recommend for anyone seeking a cultural and scenic adventure with an excellent guide.
I guess the only regret is that I didn't have more time, to but honestly I always want more time🙂.

The trip was amazing. Krista was a great guide, given us lots of information that we would never have known without this trip. Loved Rundale palace, Bauska castle and the crosses were certainly different. It was especially lovely at the end when she gave us traditional chocolate and the Riga liqueur. A lovely gesture. Cannot recommend this tour enough!

Imagine going on a day trip to truly amazing and breath taking medieval palaces and castles, and religious destinations in two countries with a best friend, who is super informative and knowledgeable, takes care of you, spoils you constantly with balsams and chocolate, makes sure you are having an excellent time, is super fun, accommodating, interesting, and full of beautiful stories. This was in short our experience with Krista in this tour! We met as strangers on a very cold morning (real feel of about - 25C) and left with hugs as best friends with the warmest of hearts having spent our most beautiful day in Riga. Krista thank you from the bottom of our hearts!

P.S. Extra thanks for your restaurant recommendation. It was the best way to close the day.

We had a wonderful day with Krista, our fantastic guide and the girl of sun who brought the whole day sunshine to us. She is knowledgeable, full of humor, very sweet, and thoughtful. She always helps us to take the pictures, and says the history in a easy-to-understanding way. We have symptoms of catching a cold due to the windy weather in the last 2 days, and she share the Balsam with us, making us feel like at home! Thank you Krista, you are one of the best!

Ended up being only two people on this day trip, plus the guide.
Our guide was Janis, and he was super great from pickup to drop off - good energy/vibes from him. He was great at explaining not only the places we visited, but many other information about Latvia, and was able to answer all our questions as well.

First stop was the Hill of Crosses. Be aware that it is not a giant hill, as many other people seem to expect. Still an okay place to visit. Didn’t experience any “special feeling” about the place though.

Second stop was Rundāles Palace. Was visiting in low season, so luckily not that many people there. Beautiful historic palace to visit.

Third and last stop was Bauska Castle. Also a decent place to visit, and a nice way they had build to walk up one of the old towers.
