About the operator
Don’t take it from us – here’s what people have to say about this operator:
- 36jgc0 contributionsA visit to Trakai and the Castle. A beautiful experience. We had a lovely visit with Marija. She is a very knowledgable guide and knows a lot about the history of the rules of the country. It's a very charming town and the castle offers a nice view. Having a complete explanation about all the displays inside the castle becomes a little boring at the end and we would've loved to have more time in Trakai. We were lucky to see the locals getting ready to celebrate the Summer Solstice.Written 20 July 2024
- 19douglasp0 contributionsBest Tour of Jewish VilniusThis was the best private tour I have ever been on. My guide, Agnes, was fantastic. Knowledgeable, helpful, and she wove the different parts of the tour together like a complex, but interconnected story. She really has done a great deal of background investigation and she brought her own book with her to find even further details. Really enjoyed the tour and deeply appreciated Agnes’s expertise.Written 6 July 2024
- cliffp6050 contributionsGreat Trakai castle tourThis was a 5 star tour. Marija the guide was great, outgoing and very knowledgeable. She’s led tours for Prime Ministers and a couple from Houston. Also recommended a place for a great local lunch.Written 24 June 2024
- N9545SVcs0 contributionsEfficient tourAlthough it was not on the itinerary, he was so kind that he brought us to Sugihara‘s House. We didn’t have an international license and our stay in Lithuania was short so going to the four different places in one day helped us a lot. Written 5 March 2024

- vv3100 contributionsDon't get a guide and we were crammed into a small vehicle. We paid for a van for our party of 3. Instead, we all had to cram in the back of a regular car for the long ride, while our guide had plenty of room up front with the driver. Our tour guide was not great with English. He could not answer the actual questions we asked, but instead would change the subject to some script he had memorized. In addition, he attempted to tell jokes which were racist and we did not find funny. When I contacted the vendor I got no response. I feel that I didn't get what we paid for.Written 21 July 2023

- lesagejl48580 contributionsEerily BeautifulThis is a long day out from Vilnius. My guide was late and got lost a few times. The Hill of Crosses is amazing, do take time to walk to the top and/or along some of the twisty, windy, paths. They sell crosses at booths near the entrance, but I had brought one from home.Think about how you will attach the cross, some nylon fishing line, wire, or small chain could work. Take a photo of it inlace and if possible also pose it next to some larger or more distinguishable items. At my request we skipped the town of Siauliai and returned directly to Vilnius.Written 10 September 2022
- lesagejl48580 contributionsTour tailored to my requestWith less than a week in the country and unable to travel to the areas where my ancestors lived, this was a great alternative. My guide spoke excellent English, he made sure I got to see the parts of the Rumsiskes open air museum that were pertinent to my family, even inquiring at the office if there were any publications about these regions. He picked me up at the back entrance so I wouldn't have to retrace my steps. We then headed to Kaunas where I saw the castle ruins, town hall plaza, a burgher's house, and several churches. We had lunch at an outdoor cafe-very reasonable. As it was a Monday and the monastery wasn't open and really wasn't on my must see list, we skipped it, instead stopping at Akopolis Mall at a basketball store where I made a purchase.Written 10 September 2022
- Lorraine1950 contributionsHill of Crosses and Siauliai TourWe had wanted to visit the Hill of crosses so we asked hotel concierge to help us book an excursion. They booked for us a private audio guided day trip with vilnius city tour and it was a fantastic experience worth every penny. Having a comfortable van for the two and a half hour trip to our destination made it all the more easier and in these Covid19 times being just the two of us made us feel so much safer. Info given along the way was clear and interesting. We had all the time to visit, take photos and buy souvenirs then the driver did two stops in Siauliai to visit the Cathedral, take photos in the Christmas decorated square as well as with the Iron Fox near the frozen lake and The Golden Archer. Definitely recommend this company especially as they do offer the option if only two people want to take a particular excursion - naturally price is a bit more than if with a group but very reasonable.Written 30 December 2021
- Williams_Id0 contributionsA beautiful day in KaunasI was lucky to be the only person taking this trip on that day. My Guide Jurata was very friendly, and insightful. We spent time at the Kaunas Rumsiskes, where we visited various old Lithuanian settlements. We also toured the Pazaislis monastry as well as Kaunas Old town and castle. She took time to present the cultural and historical background behind the settlements. That did help in appreciating Lithuanian history as well as Lithuanian society historically and in contemporary times. Personally, it was one of the most insightful tour I have ever experienced. For me it was an amazing experience.Written 14 July 2020
- Barry K0 contributionsEasy Way to Visit Trakai Castle which is well worth seeing. The company offers either a guided trip including castle museum @ 40 euros or an audio trip only @ £20 euros, the castle entrance fee is included on the former and excluded on the latter. We decided on the cheaper version and the recorded commentary was quite audible and reasonable. The castle is well worth seeing, I think it is the most visited place in Lithuania. You can take a boat trip on the lake around the castle for a reasonable 5 euros, it takes about 30 minutes. Comfortable, modern minibus and ran to the advertised times. It leaves from the Cathedral Square with a couple of other pick ups by prior arrangement. The Castle closed to the public on 13 March along with all other museums in Vilnius until further notice due to coronavirus but you can still walk round the outside on the island, hopefully the closure will not be for too longWritten 14 March 2020
- nick w0 contributionsA good short tourYou get picked up in Vilnius and driven to Trakai (about 30 mins) in a comfortable mini bus. The tour guide was very knowledgeable. She spoke in English but they also provided audio guides in other languages. You have about 2 -2.5 hours in Trakai. About an hour of that time is taken up with the guided tour of the castle by the same guide as on the mini bus then you have about an hour of free time before the bus takes you back to Vilnius. We went in winter and so did not want to linger outside for long but I can imagine in summer this could feel a bit rushed. Also we brought our own food. There are cafes/restaurants at Trakai but bear in mind that you will not have a huge amount of time to eat before returning back to the mini-bus.Written 7 March 2020

I had the opportunity to visit incredibly interesting places that I had never heard of, such as the Hill of Crosses, with an interesting story of struggle and sacrifice of a people over many years that was totally ignored by many other cultures and yet it should have international significance. Rundale Palace, baroque style with exquisite interior and exterior ornamentation, in addition to possessing an innumerable amount of historical objects from the 18th and 19th centuries belonging to the German Emperor William I and his family 👪. Then, Bauska Castle, although observed from a distance, represents an important building in the fight against the Russian empire for the freedom of the Latvian, Estonian and Lithuanian peoples. The excursion was really very interesting from the beginning, getting to know both Lithuania and Latvia and a journey of indescribable beauty of landscapes. I recommend it to you

I was in Vilnius, and I had to go to Riga, and I really wanted to see the hill of crosses. The problem is I can't drive, and I didn't have time to do the journey by bus, so i booked this tour / transportation. It's not the cheapest way to do this, but it was certainly the most efficient for me. I got to go to Riga and stop off and visit the hill of crosses along the way. As a bonus, I was able to visit a palace and the outside of a castle. I thought it was great. The hill of crosses is excellent, and while it wasn't initially that excited about seeing the palace, as I've seen many palaces, it really was nice and it was an enjoyable break to the driving. My driver (I forget his name) was pleasant and spoke perfect English. It was all seamless. I would definitely recommend it.

The places seen were interesting particularly the Hills of Crosses. The driver though was on his phone the whole time, texting continuously that we feared for our safety. Think twice about booking him.

Is it an option to drive back to Vilnius instead? If not what time does it arrive in Riga?
