About the operator
Don’t take it from us – here’s what people have to say about this operator:
- madihar20210 contributionsMake this the tour you pickThis was my family’s first time in Budapest and we took the 4-hour private tour with our guides, Ben and Peter. I went w my sister and mother, who has a bit of a hard time walking. This tour was perfect for her—brings you right up to each site, the tuk tuk is obviously more open than a car or bus so you can enjoy everything along the way. We didn’t know much about the city and they did an amazing job explaining the history of Budapest and showing us all the sites. They are happy to cater the tour to what you specifically would like to see. They also offered recommendations on restaurants, transport in the city, museums, etc. Both Ben and Peter were incredibly friendly and really made sure we were well taken care of. Ben is hilarious — kept the mood light and had us laughing the entire time, and both Ben and Peter kept the entire tour really interesting. We went on a very foggy, rainy day and they provided umbrellas, blankets, etc to make sure we stayed warm. I really appreciated how considerate they both were. If you do any tour in Budapest, definitely make it this one and would recommend doing it on your first day. We were able to use the tour to choose our favorite spots to go back to.Written 3 December 2024

- robertrL5018ET0 contributionsFantastic tour and experience with Ben on the half-day tuk-tuk tour around BudapestWe had an amazing experience on Ben’s Budapest tuk-tuk half-day tour! From start to finish, it was clear that Ben is not only knowledgeable but also passionate about sharing the rich history and beauty of the city. He took us to a variety of stunning spots, including lush parks, historic monuments, and the impressive palace. Each stop was accompanied by fascinating insights into Budapest’s history, making the tour both educational and entertaining. Ben was a fantastic guide, friendly and engaging, and ensured we had plenty of time to soak in the sights and take photos. The tuk-tuk itself was a fun and comfortable way to explore the city, especially since it allowed us to easily navigate through some of Budapest’s most picturesque neighborhoods. If you’re looking for an intimate and informative way to experience the city, we highly recommend Ben’s tour. It was a highlight of our trip! Picked us up direct from hotel right on time. It was a beautiful sunny day but we were given blankets to wrap around us as it was still very cold.
This is a great way to get around the city? We were asked is there anything particular we wanted to see and there we’re lots of stops to take a closer look and take pics. Zultan was happy to answer Ny questions and provided an incite in to the way Buda and Pest has evolved over the years can highly recommend.

This 2.5-hour tour was the best part of my trip. My friend and I were able to see all the major sites in a short time, maximizing our time and energy in this hilly city.
Guide Paul was spectacular. His knowledge, pleasant personality, and ability to speak to our interests was amazing. His English, accent, and terminology were all easy to follow. His safe driving skills and a well-maintained tuk tuk, complete with blankets to keep us cozy, made for a perfect tour.

We booked our Tuk Tuk Tour on the day. They kindly fitted us in at 5.30pm. Our tour was in February so make sure to wrap up warm if going then. I would highly recommend our tour guide, Peter. He asked us what we had seen already as we had been in Budapest 2 days already. He brought us to places we hadn’t seen. He gave us the history of every place we passed and visited. He also has a great sense of humour and we had a laugh along the way
I would highly recommend taking this novelty tour of the city and using this company

Me and my partner took the tour on 25/02 and we were left amazed as it was such a great trip! Zoltan our guide was great, provided us with lots of information along the trip and recommended additional spots we could visit. Asked what we would like to see. Tuktuk was comfortable and blankets were provided. He made us laugh and we thoroughly enjoyed our tour! Would definitely recommend if you're visiting Budapest for the first time like us, as the city is so big the tour is very insightful and we wouldn't have known about certain parts if it wasn't for the tour!!

Highly recommended. Went on a Tuk Tuk guided city tour. Our guide was gracious funny and covered so much ground without feeling rushed. Spouse loved it, the kids loved it as it is very family friendly. It makes moving around so much better than cars and the location makes it very easy to get back around the city without skipping a beat.
It was so easy to book on their website and when we had to adjust the date they were very quick and helpful by email to accommodate us in anyway we needed.
Great memory to share with the family.

We had an amazing time on our Tuk Tuk tour! I went with my grandmother and it was our first day in the city. The tour was an excellent introduction to Budapest. We mentioned to our fantastic guide, Greg, that we were interested in a bit of history and he was quite knowledgeable and kept it interesting and fun. We learned a lot of great background on Hungarian history and culture, and how the city came to be, that has made the entire trip more enjoyable. Highly recommend booking this tour, it was informative and our guide was an excellent driver making it both fun and safe to see a lot of the city. Thank you Greg for a wonderful tour!

Excellent fun way to start our 3 night trip to Budapest. We booked the 2.5 hr tour at 9:00 am on our first morning in the city and it was a really great way to get one’s bearings. Our driver Paul arrived on time and we started on a circuit of the city first stopping briefly at the opera house and then Heroes Square. Paul spoke excellent English & was knowledgeable about the country’s history which was very interesting to us. Later we crossed a bridge from the old town and visited a view point giving stunning views of the city. From there we went to the castle area for more photo opportunities. Yhr trip ends wherever you wish to be dropped off. We decided to be taken to the Shoes on the Danube memorial from where you can walk on to Kossuth parliament square
All in all I would highly recommend this tour. Our tickets included a city cruise on the Legenda boat.

Our experience turned out very good 5/5. It was a last minute booking but the Budapest Tuktuk city tour team made it simple and staightforward, very organized and no delay at all. Communication line was very accessible that when we had some changes about our pick up point, they made the necessary adjustment without any fuss. We started with a Danubian cruise by Legendra with a welcome drink and very informative multilingual audio guide. After the cruise, we went straight for the tuktuk experience, where Paul showed us spectacular monuments getting to know interesting history defining Budapest. Apart from the traditional sightseeing and unforgettable 5 hours of fresh air of hustle and bustle of the city centre, we also went on inspiring pub, drop by pastry shop, taste street foods you can only get in Hungary and unique hidden places a traditional tour wont be able to show us. Paul was very accommodating, knows Budapest very well, made very practical recommendations and professional all throughout our tour. It was a quick look of Budapest but such an amazing experience. Highly recommended, we were provided blanket as well to keep us warm, which we really appreciate.

The best tour we have ever been on!!!!
Where to start. First of all Gabor was the most knowledgeable tour guide ever and really listened to what we wanted out of the tour so made it special for us and for that Gabor, we thank you.
With this tour we cannot recommend any higher, you get to see the whole of the city, stop to get loads of pictures and learn more about the culture of Budapest.
Perfect for a full tour of the City with amazing views and a wonderful, friendly host to show you all the hidden gems of Budapest.
5 stars Gabor 🌟 🤩 ✨️

I will say this review is subjective. My husband loved the little red "motorcycle" as he calls it and zooming thru the streets. I am apparantly harder to please. The good: Tuk tuk is amazing in responding to requests, communication and email. Cant praise them enough. We asked to be picked up at the VIKING port and they did so, no problem. I felt the ride didn't really deliver as much as billed,, nor to to all the stops listed, perhaps becasue it pretty much did the same as the free curise tour. The good: our driver stopped at a runins bar (pretty interesting) and we saw a building built on runins (nice). It was chill so the roof was up. NOISY in the tut tut.. please fix the muffler, or invest in microphones. Driver spent most of ride with head toward my husband so he could hear, to my exclusion. We were not offerred blankets but when I saw one in the back, I grabbed it. Thus I give them 3 stars but my husband loved the ride.

Dear Voyager315730,
Thank you for your review, we appreciate your time to write about your experience. We are sorry to hear you weren’t happy!
First I would like to let you know that we, who work in the office of Budapest TukTuk, are cheered up by your words, because our efforts are mostly unnoticed, almost invisible, so we deeply appreciate your feedback and compliments. Thank you!
Arranging pick up for river cruise ships is part of our daily routine, during the seasons we are proud to take VIKING guest TukTuk tours almost every day. Despite the sometimes challenging parking opportunities on the banks, we manage to save almost all the walk for our guests.
We will learn from your perception of the tour, and make sure that our guide will keep in mind next time that getting caught up in a conversation with one of the guests might make the other feel neglected. We are sincerely sorry about that.
Also sorry for forgetting to offer you the soft, clean blankets that we indeed keep in the back of every TukTuk, just behind the passengers.
Once again, we thank you for sharing your opinion! We will use it to gain and be better.
Wishing you all the best,
The Budapest TukTuk Team

We are a family of 4 - can you fit us in one Tuk Tuk?
Thanks
Written 22 December 2019
You'd be better off simply telling them but my guess is that you'd need 2 tuk tuks. There may be some operator that has a big one but a tuk tuk is a motorcycle with a back end and it's meant for 2 people.

We’ll be in Budapest in December. I worry about the tuk tuk being too cold (or wet) to enjoy the tour. Anyone have a thought on that?
Written 13 November 2019
The tuk tuk is covered. Also the driver informs you that the top is opened/closed at your request.

The tour went for 3.5 hours - 4 hours I think and he fitted so much in for us. It was wonderful! I would double check with the company exactly how long it was though. Good luck!

Do you recommend the half day tour or the 2.5 house tour? In other words, was the 2.5 hour tour sufficient?
Written 12 September 2019
The 2.5 hour tour worked for us. We were there a few days on our river cruise and had seen much of the city. We wanted to walk to the N.Y. Cafe and Gallery of Fine Arts but not also walk home. So we organized a custom 2.5 hour tour To be picked up there, shown things not on the main tours and Thenend at Buda Castle, our hotel. Took us to the Base of Lady Liberty. Gorgeous views and a few artsy street vendors Also took us out to a park Out of town where the locals go -we saw beautiful homes and another side of Budapest not realized when in the city. They were very good about saying what gave you seen and giving ideas on how to shape the tour. Tu was our guide.

There will be 3 adults taking this tour. We are not small people. Will 1 tuk tuk be comfortable for us ? I really don't want us separated into 2 vehicles

That would not be very comfortable.
