Breeze by the entrance lines of Poland’s UNESCO World Heritage Site, Wieliczka Salt Mine, with this tour. Along with a skip-the-line admission ticket, this tour provides round-trip transport form Krakow and bottled water to keep you hydrated during the trek underground. Plus, you can learn information about the mine from your guide you wouldn’t learn if traveling alone, and a headset is offered so you can clearly hear the commentary as you go.
If you're staying at select Krakow hotels, begin your tour with convenient pickup. Otherwise, meet your guide and group at a central location. Climb aboard a minivan, and enjoy the scenery on the 10-mile (16-kilometer) ride to the UNESCO World Heritage-listed Wieliczka Salt Mine.
Once you arrive, start your tour of the mine. Learn about its origins in the 13th century from your guide. Ascend almost 450 feet (135 meters) into the earth, including a climb down 350 steps and a walk through a 2-mile (3-kilometer) network of tunnels. Take in vast chambers decorated with salt carvings, a chapel decorated with salt chandeliers, and caverns hosting salt-rich lakes. Throughout your guided tour, listen to your guide's informative commentary through provided headsets.
Climb back to the surface for the ride back to Krakow. Get dropped off at your original departure point at the end of this tour.
