Overview
The Noosa Biosphere in South Queensland is a unique, internationally-protected environmental wonder where ecosystems collide. Located in the overlap of tropical and temperate climates, the biosphere has rainforests, beaches, woodlands, mountains and more – and plenty of native plants and animals to find in them. On this morning tour, explore several locations in the reserve. Enjoy the easy walks, suitable for all fitness levels, as you try to spot koalas, turtles, black cockatoos and more.
What to Expect
Designed for the avid birdwatcher, fauna and flora enthusiast and nature photographer to see as much wildlife as possible and share interests in this Half-Day tour.  In a roomy, air-conditioned mini-van we visit 6-8 locations with short tranquil easy walks, no more than a few hundred metres, to the vantage point. Ample time and opportunity to photograph and observe flora and fauna in their natural habitat is factored into this tour.

The UNESCO Noosa Biosphere Reserve is a unique area where tropical and temperate zones overlap, providing varied ecosystems and where we visit 3-4 locations which include Mangroves, Wallum, Wet and Dry Eucalypt forests and Rainforests. 40% of Australia’s bird species are found in this area, some 304 species including Miratory wader species. Other fauna species include Eastern Grey kangaroo, Koala, Grey-headed flying fox, Echidna, Carpet python, Brush-tail possum, Ring-tail possum, Platypus.  Rich in biodiversity we stop to enjoy a delicious, locally sourced morning tea as we absorb the ambience of this very special Nature reserve.  Some of the iconic bird species that you may discover are Glossy Black-cockatoo,Scarlet honey-eater,Eastern osprey, Variegated fairy-wren,Pale-headed rosella,Eastern Whipbird.

Finishing the half-day wildlife experience you will return back at your accommodation by 1:00 pm to enjoy the rest of your visit to the Sunshine Coast also known as Australia’s Nature Coast.
