About the operator
Don’t take it from us – here’s what people have to say about this operator:
- Aryn B0 contributions10 out of 5 Stars!!!!I do not have enough superlatives to describe how much I enjoyed this adventure. The scenery was other worldly and incredible. Having the beaches mostly to ourselves and exclusive access to the lighthouse was so terrific. It was a super rainy day—which one would expect to put a damper on things. Maybe it did—but I can’t imagine enjoying much more than I did. I LOVE small group day tours and do as many as possible—I honestly cannot think of a guide with more passion and knowledge. He MADE this trip—full stop. A real gem of an individual. I am bursting with excitement to share my adventure with anyone who will look at my pics!!!Written 25 November 2023
- CarlaKoala80 contributions10/10 fantastic dayAn absolutely fantastic day with Craig! The day was so well organised with the perfect balance of structure and freedom - at no point did we feel rushed anywhere or that we had to move on quickly because of time. The lunch provided was extremely scrumptious and the wine was the icing on the cake! Craig was amazing from start to finish - spending 8 hours with someone you've never met has never been so easy. His knowledge - wildlife, local, safety etc all shone through throughout the day really contributing to a fab day. Our group was myself and my partner and two other ladies attending solo and everyone had a fantastic time.Written 2 May 2023
- P8146GEpeters0 contributionsBest tour out there and you can do it again as it's always changingWe did the group tour and Craig our driver was great. His love and knowledge of the area and his job were excellent. We had some diverse weather on the day but Craig went about the adversities without a fuss. He made sure we did everything from getting to the hard spots and preparing lunch. His eye for safety was paramount.Written 21 October 2022
- PStas0 contributionsAwesome day exploring beautiful beachesWe are a family of 4 – 2 adults and 2 teenage kids and chose 4wd for a trip to Rainbow beach. Everything was amazing. Craig is a super experienced guide and driver with a great sense of humour. He knows the Sandy National Park and beaches like the back of his hand. The tour was well paced with time for swimming, wandering around and photos and the lunch was superb. Craig points out all the major sites, animal species etc – very informative . It was such a lovely day and perfect part of our Noosa trip. Would highly recommend.Written 11 January 2022

- TinaYogi0 contributionsAmazing 4WD coast tripThe most amazing beaches we have ever seen - better than the Bahamas or Hawaii. Craig, our tour guide was informative, humourous and passionate about nature. Seven fun-filled hours surrounded by beauty - the time went by far too quickly. Highly recommended experience. Thank you for making our day Craig!Written 21 September 2021
- archangelosSydney0 contributionsA MUST DO TRIP OF NATURAL SPLENDOURWell, I was in a crabby and irritable old-man mood the day before this trip. Little did I realize that when Craig picked me up from my accommodation in his 4x4 Landcruiser the next morning , it would unexpectedly unfold into one of the best days I've ever had. On a weekday, when the crowds are absent, we had vast golden seascapes to ourselves as we drove on the wide beaches of Great Sandy National Park. Ospreys, sea eagles, Brahmin Kites and plovers soared all around the ochre hued cliffs and over the blue waters. At Double Island Point , where there is a stunning 1884 lighthouse, we witnessed the magnificent sight of humpback whales on their migration north. There was wild ocean, sky and blazing winter sunshine and not another soul in sight. It felt so surreal, like a Jurrasic Park movie set! Craig takes small groups so you never feel it's cramped. He's an excellent communicator with an impressive knowledge for the natural environment . There's ample time for morning tea, taking pictures of ridiculously instagrammable natural features and even swimming in the pristine waters of Rainbow Beach. My favorite part? The magical driving on those endless expanses of golden sands into the never never of distant horizons that seem to go on forever. If you love nature, learning about the local KABI KABI culture, fauna , flora, and lamingtons with giant lizards at morning tea, then this is a definite thing to do. Needless to say, I felt much better in spirit and body after this day.Written 27 July 2021
- Leafandflower0 contributionsA fantastic day out incorporating both the Noosa Biosphere Reserve and the Great Sandy Biosphere Reserve.Craig's tour is fabulous. We drove along beautiful Teewah Beach for about 50 klms, stopping occasionally to see the Ospreys' nest & watching them hunt for fish, the little Terns huddled together on the beach plus many more sea birds all the while keeping a sharp eye out for the migrating Humpback Whales. Once we arrived at Double Island Point, which Craig has permission to drive right up to the lighthouse, we saw Manta Rays, turtles, dolphins & big schools of fish and the occasional splash from a Humpback Whale. Superb! We then made our way down to the beautiful coloured sands via Paradise Point & Honeymoon Bay for lunch on the beach. This is a very relaxed and beautiful day out from Noosa. Thankyou Craig taking us on your very informative tour.Written 23 July 2021

Craig is an amazing guide. He is extremely knowledgeable on the local areas plus very entertaining with a great sense of humour. We had a sensational lunch on the beach, saw great sea life including turtles plus kangaroos as we drove off the beach. The beach drive, coloured sands, Rainbow Beach, Double Island Point it's hard to choose which was the best bit. It was a truly incredible day.Written 23 December 2020

- 100judithn0 contributionsOne of the best beach drives in the worldThe drive along the 40 mile beach to Double Island Point and the lighthouse should be on everyone’s bucket list. This is a great day out. Very informative, spectacular views and a swim while lunch was prepared. Thanks Craig, really enjoyed the coloured sand cliff stories and getting to know the pied oystercatchers and sea eagles through your eyes.Written 13 November 2020
- Inspire2845940 contributionsThis is an amazing unique tour taking in the spectacular drive from Noosa North Shore to the coloured sands near RainbowGreat to be able to drive up to the lighthouse at Double Island Point to incredible views. Lots of sealife.Written 11 November 2020
- 123MCC0 contributionsGreat beach driveA wonderful day trip, not too long, driving up North shore beach for 55 kms, up to Double island lighthouse. We saw a manta ray, lots of turtles, small dolphins, ospreys, sea eagles, Brahminy kites, oyster catchers. Then went on to Rainbow beach coloured sands, stunning reds and ochres against the turquoise blue of the ocean. I loved making hand prints on the wet sand with the coloured sand. If you don't own a 4WD, this tour is definitely worth doing.Written 11 November 2020
- Zencourt0 contributionsSTUNNING SCENERY ON A GREAT DAY OUT.Definitely a must do tour when staying in Noosa and worth every cent. Craig, the driver and tour guide was extremely knowledgeable about the local history of the area and the wildlife and made absolutely sure we all had the most amazing experience. The beach drive to Rainbow Beach requires enormous skill and an experienced technique and Craig handled this admirably. Breathtaking scenery all around, viewing the coloured sands, whale and dolphin watching and then relaxing on the beach whilst enjoying lunch and a glass of wine made for a truly fantastic and memorable day.Written 22 October 2020
- Chipmunk23070 contributionsSpectacular Experience of the Sunny CoastAfter years on neglecting Noosa, I recently spent several days reacquainting myself with the area. Noosa Heads and the adjacent national park are beautiful places. But to really get the fulfilling experience, you need to venture a little further out. The only let down for this tour was that Viatour/Trip Advisor had not booked this properly so I was fortunate that confirmed my reservation beforehand. Pickup for the day was directly from accommodation which is a plus. And our driver and guide for the day, Craig, proved to be a hearty character. He delivered a wealth of information about the important things without it becoming a school geography to lecture. Also, he threaded some humour into the mix to make sure it was entertaining too. I should also add that Craig was highly skilled when driving the Toyota Landcruiser we were in. His extensive knowledge meant that soft sand didn’t become a bog and that the journey was extremely comfortable and safe. It’s not often that you view a sandy beach to be a road, but that’s what the drive along Teewah beach in the Great Sandy National Park is. Dotted throughout this impressive trek is some beautiful wildlife in addition to the majestic and size defying sand dunes. A bonus of this experience is the stop at the Double Island Point Light House. The views from here are completely amazing in showing where you’ve come from and where you’re going. If you’re fortunate you may spot migrating Humpback Whales but unfortunately they were not out on the day of my tour. Finally we made our way to the Wide Bay side of the peninsula where we stopped for a picnic lunch and a swim. I think one of the nice touches to lunch, personally, was the addition of wine and beer. It’s quite pleasant to enjoy a glass or two of wine with lunch; feels almost French. The icing on the cake was getting up close and personal with the colourful sands of Rainbow Beach, which we did after lunch. Photos do not do the e perimeter any justice. The cliffs of sand are a kaleidoscope of colours as well as fragility when you see where the sand has avalanched through natural events. There were a few magical moments at Rainbow Beach. Firstly, Craig delivered a sublime story from the Aborginal tribes as to how the place evolved. Secondly, making a hand print, Aboriginal art style on the beach using the coloured sands. Lastly, when Craig suggested we go for a walk at our own leisure, I started walking back in our direction of return, and soon enough the beach was my own. It’s not very often when you can wander a beach with no one else around you and enjoy the sights, sounds, and the splash of water on your feet. That was pure relaxation. Fortunately, Craig did collect me on the start of our return journey which is why I can post this review. But in his hindsight, my challenge of humour to his using the punch line of “50 Shades of Grey”, would probably make him think twice. Ha Ha! From here it was the return trek back to our starting points with a convenient bathroom stop and discovering some more native fauna. So let me end this with my EGBU (EggBoo): Exceptional: - All of the natural scenery and wildlife; - Value of the activity, I think it’s fairly priced; - Learning and Knowledge. An experienced guide figures out quickly how much the travellers want to know. - Craig was a great driver, fountain of information, with a people focussed personality. Good: - The swim opportunity at lunch. - Lunch was very good. Bad: - Not a criticism of lunch as I know that CoVid makes things much more difficult. But I think a beach BBQ would have been spectacular. - Again, it’s very difficult to make this sound like a criticism. But I think adding another 30-45 mins to the tour for another swim would be great, especially over the hotter months. Ugly: - Nothing. Not even the couple of “Dad Jokes” that Craig dropped in here and there. :D If you’re going to spend at least a few days in Noosa, DO THIS!Written 21 October 2020

Incredible - the perfect day tour - Craig was a fantastic guide. Nothing was too much trouble, and he was so passionate and knowledgeable about this beautiful area.
This was the highlight of my recent solo trip to Noosa and the best tour I did by far. Rainbow Beach is absolutely stunning and driving along the beach in a 4wd is an amazing experience.
Make sure you do this tour - it's worth it!

We had an outstanding day exploring the Great Sandy National Park.
Craig is an excellent driver and knowledgeable guide.
The day started with the cable ferry from Tewantin and then on to the beach for the drive up to Double Island Point & the historic lighthouse. Craig took us right to the lighthouse, far better than hiking in the heat! The views were wonderful, we saw many turtles in the sea below.
We then went to Rainbow beach, spectacular coloured sand hills along the pristine beach.
Craig provided a great healthy lunch, complemented with a lovely white wine.
We saw lots of wildlife, including monitor lizards and a variety of seabirds.
All in all a great day out.

I can’t recommend this company enough!
Yesterday I went with our very knowledgeable driver Craig to visit Double Island Point and its lighthouse, the coloured sands and Rainbow beach where we stopped for a picnic lunch.
An amazing beach drive with lots of bird life and we also spotted large manta rays, schools of fish and many large splashes made by the travelling humpback whales.
A small group in a new 4WD made for a very comfortable day’s outing!

It was pretty special driving in the front along the beach. Craig gave some really good tips on beach driving which my adult nephew may use in future. We went to a stunning spot and had a lovely swim in the warm shallow sandy bay of Rainbow Beach. It was great to see the other side of the Noosa Peninsula. We did see some whale action and some dolphins, lizard and were lucky enough to see a turtle but it was mainly the beach driving experience and the coloured sand cliffs which were spectacular.
