- belindadJ4939WZ0 contributionsDolphins on the sea kayakWhat a splendid day out on the sea. The kids were so excited to get up close to dolphins. And seeing the whales on the bus on the way there was just spectacular. Grateful for the experience.Written 30 September 2024
- 09876mk0 contributionsfantastic day on the waterA fantastic day with expert guides in a wonderful environment. The highlight was the pod of dolphins that swam all around us while we were paddling. The best day of our trip Noosa.Written 30 September 2024
- 603jarvisc0 contributions10/10Never thought we could get so close to these beautiful creatures; it’s definitely an unforgettable memory. The professional guides made us feel safe on the water and even provided some great footage of the whales. Highly recommended! This is something you can't experience on a whale-watching boat. Kayaking was indeed exhausting, and we got soaked by the sea, but it was totally worth it!Written 24 August 2024
- RoscoeandR0 contributionsGreat wildlife experienceThis was a great wildlife experience with numerous sightings of birds of prey, dolphins and whales. It was unique to be kayaking amongst the humpbacks and dolphins.Written 6 August 2024
- Maimint P0 contributionsAwesome tour with great guides! We got super lucky and saw a bunch of whales just on the drive over along the beach. Eliot and Steve told us a all about the different kinds of birds we spotted too. They really took their time explaining everything and made sure we could check everything out up close. During the kayak tour, we saw not just many whales but also dolphins. On the way back, we even saw a kangaroo and more birds. We totally recommend doing the tour with Eliot and Steve. They’re really cool and chill guys!Written 6 August 2024
- GeorgieR_120 contributionsWhales everywhere!Awesome day! We all piled into the van at Noosa and drove up through North Shores along the beach towards Double Island Point. Spotted a heap of humpbacks from the shore on the drive plus a load of different birds of prey which Eliot was super knowledgeable about. Had a quick toilet break at a rest area along the away with the goannas! Both Eliot and Steven were full of cool flora/fauna facts to keep us entertained on the way. At Double Island Point the guys unloaded the kayaks and we hopped straight in, having seen from the shore that there were some whales around. Eliot was great at reccying where the whales were heading, unreal instincts! Before long we were up close with them catching some incredible action, it really was amazing to see the animals really active, and seemed like they were everywhere. On the way back we got to see a whale interacting with a couple of dolphin pods which was really the icing on the cake. We headed back to shore and chilled on the beach for a bit before jumping back in the van and heading back. We were all tired from a good paddle but enjoyed some more bird watching on the drive back! All in all, epic day, Eliot and Steve really made it with their positive attitudes and vast knowledge. Thanks again legends 🤙Written 6 August 2024

- 824zoe0 contributionsHighly recommendBest day trip I’ve done in my whole trip to Australia. The two guides/instructors were great and clearly passionate about the local wildlife. Driving up the beach in a 4x4 was a fantastic experience. I have not surfed much before so can’t really comment on the quality of the waves, but the area around Double Island point had several locations you could split across if there were higher-level surfers in the group. Also was not crowded at all! Lovely backdrop with the Rainbow Beach coloured sands behind you. There were several toilet opportunities. Snacks provided were crisps and tim tams so do take the booking advice of bringing your own food too.Written 28 April 2024
- Nicole S0 contributionsA True AdventureIncredible experience! Such a fun drive out to the beach where we were surfing. Our guides made the experience comfortable and shared so much info on the local ecology of the Everglades. Very attentive instructors and gave great tips! I’m an experienced surfer so I took the lesson as a way to go out in a group, and learn about the local break. I’m so happy I did and would definitely take another lesson with this company.Written 24 March 2024

- dukehuh0 contributionsCool, chill day with the familyWe had an excellent time on our stand up paddle boarding trip. The guides are very chill with assessing capabilities, and my son was even able to do a bit of surfing even though we didn't really sign up for it since there was a board available (not sure if I would count on this, though). Saw many sea turtles and some rays. Driving to Double Island point was actually a lot more enjoyable than I though it would be just watching the beatiful beaches at the Great Sandy and listening to chill tunes. We lucked out with our weather as our day was gorgeous. Lastly, Vince, our lead guide and driver, is the true legend.Written 5 January 2024
- Discover6674560 contributionsCould do betterSpent 2/3rds of the trip being bussed along a bumpy beach to get to our destination - was advertised as a 4x4 experience. Other 1/3rd was spent kayaking including tuition and over half an hour standing around waiting for the guide to park the bus up. We did see dolphins which made the trip worthwhile. No rays or whales but we did briefly see one small turtle. The sea was full of jellyfish. Guide was informative and witty which helped. Food snacks very poor 1 small packets of crisps and a single chocolate biscuit!! Overall not great value for over 300 dollars…Written 21 December 2023
- Ingrid H0 contributionsFantastic experience not to be missed!Fantastic day from start to finish. The drive to Honeymoon Beach was beautiful and an unrivalled experience - we saw dolphins and whales and had a fun time kayaking . A baby whale was curious and swam right beside the kayaks. Tyron looked after our group really well and gave us lots of information about the area and wildlife .Written 10 October 2023

My husband, eldest son and I had a wonderful day and we were certainly blessed with gorgeous weather. We were promptly picked up from the J Theatre and were entertained by Vince's commentary. It was quite an experience to drive along the sand highway (even with the few maniacs that were also using it) and we were lucky enough to see a sea turtle and two pods of wild dolphins. After our kayaking, there was enough time to have a swim in Honeymoon Bay and when we got back on the minibus, water, chips and Tim Tams were provided. All three of us would recommend doing this 6 hour adventure with Epic Adventures when visiting Noosa.

My friends and I decided to take the tour mainly to see a part of the coast that none of us had seen before - it truly was spectacular. Vince drove along the beach and kept us informed and entertained along the way. Once we hit the kayaks we saw a sea turtle, stingray and of course a pod of dolphins!! That made the day! Have to give a shout out to Summer as well, who took our young fella on her kayak when I couldn’t continue. Thank you team Epic for a great day on the coast!

The guys running the tour were exceptional at making conversation to fill the day with laughs and joy, whether it be facts about the land we were visiting, the local area or even just a joke here and there. Great instructions when out on the water, along with some good knowledge about the sea life we encountered. Couldn't fault this trip at all, would recommend 10 times over.

Definitely an epic day out! Done both the kayaking and surfing trips now and both times Vince and Sam have been awesome tour guides point out birdlife, spotting whales, taking us to the best spots to see turtles and dolphins, it's a wildlife lovers dream and also just the best day trip on the Sunshine Coast. It's not to big of a day and will be my go to tour to do when I have visitors and highly recommend it to anyone wanting a true aussie experience!

We left at 5.30am and returned over six hours later. By any usual standard, that's a full day... and we were given 425ml of water, a mini snack bag of crisps and two biscuits... pretty much any adventure booking I've been on would've provided some food - sandwiches, fruit, and definitely more water. It was 33 degrees! I also don't think you call this kayak day 'kayak with dolphins' because that misleads you into thinking you will kayak with dolphins. When we asked how likely it was to see dolphins, we were told that nature couldn't be controlled. Of course, this is true, but it's probably more accurate to then describe the trip as kayaking with the possibility of seeing dolphins. We did spot some stingrays! The three hour return trip on the beach was also inside the most uncomfortable 4WD I've ever been in - skinny bench seats with no cushioning. Made for a tiring trip home. All this made it feel a bit 'budget' yet the price certainly wasn't. I also didn't appreciate being phoned after posting my review to ask what they could offer me to 'take it down'. Hmmm.

Dear Taryn,
Thank you for your feedback. We are disappointed with your response as we did our very best for your group of four for the day as you were the only participants from Noosa and was a private tour at group price. As the forecast for wind was strong in the afternoon we suggested an early morning tour for you would be best in which you were happy with. As you were the only participants on tour from Noosa on this day we provided our 2016 Landcruiser fully air conditioned just for your group with our most popular experienced guide. In regards to snacks and water yes we do keep it simple as the tours depart at different times of the day as we use the low tide for the 4X4 adventure up the beach. There are some neat recycled "Noosa" water bottles we provide complementary with refills available at the front of the vehicle and there was over 10 liters of water provided for you.
Yes it is correct that wildlife on the day is out of our control in the Marine Park and our experienced guides do their best to spot as much as they can. You will see in other reviews we do get some pretty amazing days on the water with dolphins and hope that most can appreciate that sometimes we just dont see them. The tour we believe is a really unique National Park experience not only including the chance to spot dolphins whilst kayaking but also the thrilling 4X4 beach drive, spectacular scenery and other wildlife including rays, turtles, whales in season and some incredible birds of prey. A day of nature and kayaking adventure to a Marine Park only accessed along the low tide we believe offers a rewarding and unique experience.
With it being comparable to other popular day tours in Noosa including one day Fraser Island Tours that sell at around $195 without water activities, we believe our prices are reasonably good. You may not be aware that the unique aspects of beach driving in a highly corrosive environment and kayaking in such a remote pristine wilderness location does involve very high operational costs also.
Regarding the follow up phone call we did want to ask that you made changes to some of the aspects of the review that were simply untrue. This review has been re submitted as it was flagged by Tripadvisor that had included information that was not first hand.
Also, the drive back from Double Island Point to your accommodation on North Shore is 1 hour and we are disappointed you have still suggested three hours as that as simply not true. A six our tour includes 2-2.5 hours of kayaking and swimming.
We do like to thank you in supporting local tourism with your booking during these harder times and safe travels back to Brisbane.

We are a family of 5 ( three children aged 9yrs,13yrs and 16 yrs). We had an excellent afternoon Kayaking Although we did not see dolphins - but that's the nature of animals in the wild and can not be controlled ,we had an amazing time seeing turtles rays and jellyfish.
The kayaking was great fun, and Vince and Tyron were exceptionally friendly ,knowledgeable, and engaging . I was celebrating my 50th birthday and myself and my family had a great time and would highly recommend the trip .

Before I even write what happened on our trip. Nick is a fantastic guide. He was chatting away in the 4WD and was so engaging about all of the wildlife and landscape that we were seeing as we passed by.
I am not a kayaker by any means but he made everybody feel so safe.
We then set out into the ocean….
We were initially treated by 2 x pods of dolphins who we followed out to sea. They were flipping and having a jolly good old time.
Then in the distance someone spotted some spray. We were thrilled that we had also seen whales. Then they came directly towards us. Six in totally. Dolphins still present (approx 15-20.)
Nick then informed us that in fact they were coming directly towards us.
Do not get me wrong this was one of the most unbelievable experiences of my life. But also terrifying. They had calves and went under and around our kayaks (all 6 of them.)
Nick throughout was completely calm/professional/reassuring.
I cannot express my gratitude to him and how wonderful he made the whole experience. Will be certainly something I remember my whole life.
Thanks bru!

Thank you for sharing your incredible experience with Epic Ocean Adventures Sea Kayak Tour. It's heartening to hear your appreciation for Nick, who proved to be a fantastic guide, engaging you with his knowledge of wildlife and the landscape during the 4WD journey.
Encountering two pods of dolphins and witnessing the spectacle of six whales, including calves, approaching your kayaks must have been awe-inspiring, albeit a bit thrilling. Nick's calm, professional, and reassuring demeanor speaks volumes about his dedication to ensuring your safety and enhancing the overall experience. We're thrilled to have been a part of one of the most unbelievable moments of your life.

Full disclosure: my husband and I are in our mid-60’s in average physical condition. We both have kayaked before in lakes on kayaks with back support. We took the tour anticipating a much more mellow paddling experience. We rode in the 4x4 van over the beach (which was cool), but when we got to the site in Noosa heads the waves off the beach and the current were more than we expected (it was pretty windy…we overheard some discussion about going to a lagoon instead, so conditions may not have been typical). But since we were there we figured we might as well try. Vince, our guide, gave instructions and off we went. Paddling was much harder than either of us anticipated and between the swells and the current it was tough to keep the kayak headed straight into the waves to prevent tipping over (one couple did). In addition, the lack of back support on the top-sitting sea kayak seat made for a challenging paddle (core and hip flexors were sore the next day). We couldn’t really appreciate the surroundings (Fraser island) and by the time we caught up with everyone (we were among a few kayaks that lagged behind), we missed most of the commentary by Vince, who was leading. We ended up riding the waves back in too soon (at the edge of the swimming area) because the current kept pulling us in amd we didn’t want to tip over (I was told a number of others did tip). So we had to carry the kayak down the beach back to the vans. Didn’t see any dolphin or much other wildlife either, but frankly I was so busy paddling a whale could have passed me and I wouldn’t have known. All in all it was a challenging experience and I’m glad we finished “successfully”, but not one I would want to repeat. I think the literature for the tour should probably be a little more forthcoming about the potential for rougher conditions due to wind.

Thank you for taking the time to provide detailed feedback about your recent experience. Your honesty is appreciated, and we sincerely apologize for falling short of your expectations. We always strive to deliver the best possible experience for every participant.
We understand that the ocean conditions, especially for those with limited ocean experience, can be vastly different and present unexpected challenges. Our team endeavors to accommodate the needs and expectations of each participant, and we continuously monitor forecasts and live readings to ensure a safe and enjoyable kayaking environment at Double Island Point.
The location of Double Island Point typically offers well-protected conditions, ranging from lake-like calmness to more oceanic conditions, depending on various factors. While we aim for perfect conditions every day, occasional challenges may arise, as you experienced during your tour with some wind and small waves onshore. Most participants navigated through it effortlessly, but we understand that it posed difficulties for some, however this is in knee deep safe water.
Regarding muscle soreness, we recognize that kayaking engages various muscle groups, and we briefed on taking it slow before entering the water. On the day of your tour, the majority of participants were beginners or had minimal kayaking experience, the option for the more adventurous to catch some small waves guided by Vince towards the end of tour was taken up by most who enjoyed the thrill and falling out in shallow water.
Your suggestion about improving communication in our literature regarding potential rough conditions is duly noted, and we will debrief the clarity of our information for future participants but also need to note the ocean and National Park is always variable.
Once again, we apologize for any inconvenience caused and appreciate your understanding. We hope you may consider giving us another opportunity to provide you with a more enjoyable experience in the future.

Our two guides Vince and Jack went above and beyond to ensure we had a great day out
The drive on the 50 km beach was extraordinary and Vince pointed out wildlife in our way
Our only disappointment was the secluded beach we were hoping to reach was full of people and half a dozen jet skis who were also there for a fun day out. They clearly frightened all the wild life away. This review is by no means a criticism of epic adventures who are a first class outfit but of the Queensland authorities who allow this pursuit to be practiced in a national park where you would have thought conservation would be their main criteria

Everything about the tour was special - Vince gave us fascinating facts about the environment, drove along the beach superbly, gave us clear directions on how to paddle through the waves, and led us to a spot where we were literally surrounded by dolphins. It was utterly epic! We paddled a little further to get a good view of the lighthouse, rested briefly and then paddled back, into the wind, spotting more dolphins, before catching a wave that deposited us safely back on the beach. Vince is accomplished, charming and patient - he clearly loves his job and living in the moment!

I am a single mum planning to come for a visit with my two boys 8 and 10 years old in July. Will they be divided in the kayaks? Is it possible also to book 1 adult and two kids or do they need to be with another adult? They have experience with kayak already.
Also is July a good time to do this? Thanks again!

My boss is going over to Noosa next week for 10 days, I was thinking of getting him a voucher for two with you guys.
As I don’t know there calendar is it possible for them to just ring and book a date when they get there or are bookings essential?
Thanks in advance

Hi there, general fitness level required. Kids from 7 years however we do take younger if the conditions are very good please contact us for any considerations on this. Guides will match up participants in kayaks if odd number or inexperienced and sometimes if preferred child can participate in the front of one of the guides kayaks. An excellent family day out and tour.

Just wondering about the rough seas and is the kayak portion of the trip affected. Thinking about booking in the next 2 days. Thanks very much

Hi there, Double Island Point has a number of excellent wind protected locations to kayak in most wind directions. Guides are trained lifeguards and will keep well within participants ability levels. Hope this helps and we hope to see you on tour for some adventures!
