What to expect
Make your way to the Port Airlie marina in time for an early-morning departure. Board your air-conditioned high-speed catamaran and set sail for the Whitsunday Islands. We went in January which isnt meant to be the best time to go from what i heard but it was so clear and such a nice day. Went with my family and had an amazing time swimming around and exploring the beach. We avoided all the crowds as we went to the other end. Beach was amazing and i see why it was the 2nd best rated beach in the world at the time i went (today i think its rated number 1) how great is it to have something like this in Australia?

smooth ride on the boat i think about 30 mins from memory. Staff member tried to top me from taking photos on the beach of my family as they wanted me to pay for their photos which were not very good and they were very pushy. On the way back people where pushing to get onto the boat knocking my little sister over who was 7 and then had a fight over the free crackers like animals. The staff member came back and kept pushing us to buy the photos. Other than that it was really good and would say everyone should go here

Whitehaven beach in our stinger suits in the pouring rain in 27 degree turquoise sea is a fantastic memory to take away.
Had a great day even though weather not ideal.
I’m sure if sun had shone it would have been even better. We did beach am and Hamilton island PM. As we didn’t actually know what or where to go when we got off ferry at Hamilton island I’d recommend a bit of research in advance. We thought we were in an American movie set as everyone wizzing around in beach buggies.

Enjoyable day out today on Whitehaven Beach and then on to Hamilton Island for lunch. The staff of Cruise Whitsunday were informative and polite, Liam even promised sun over Whitehaven for the 2 hours we were there after a very lumpy ride across and he delivered.

A good day out 👍

half day to whitehaven from hamo on a rainy windy day .
To improve this experience , our group was left with only one choice to go or lose100%
(we were offered $10 extra cost to move our booking)
But as the weather was to get worst for the next few days this was not really an option.
We all understand staff costs etc , but we all would have pull the pin if we received 50% money back.
Pelting rain stinging your face was hardly a nice time. staff were great , but this tour should have not gone ahead.
We found out later that day the full day trip had been cancelled and full refund to all customers.

I am sorry to read that the weather was less than ideal on your recent Whitsundays visit. As one of the largest tourism providers in the region Cruise Whitsundays does have a reputation for persevering and operating in wet and and windy conditions. As guidance our terms and conditions do suggest all guests check the weather forecast in the lead up to their departure dates. Our Full Day Tour is operated on a smaller ancillary vessel and the decision to cancel this tour based on the safety on our gests on the smaller vessel. As our Half Day Tour Vessel is a large 240 seater it can safely navigate the ocean.

Whitehaven was amazing although the trip getting there was quite rough (very windy day) so make sure you take sea sick pills but worth the trip getting there. Hamilton island was easy to get around with the free shuttles although the included lunch was very ordinary and not worth what they would’ve charged if not included. Definitely worth doing the trip to see both destinations. The marina at hamilton is very pretty and watching the planes come in so close was definitely great to watch.

Experience was overall great. The boat ride was very bumpy, although luckily we had a lovely group of staff who were very attentive to those that were sea sick, and looked after us all very well. Arriving at whitehaven beach there was a few paddle boards, and a lovely scenic walk, however if you didn’t want to do either of those you’d be rather stuck with just the beach in the warm sun, which was fine for us. Arriving at hamilton island once you get dropped off you have a lunch voucher, however after that there isn’t a lot you can do unless you pre-book, and you’re basically stuck unless you’ve booked something, buggies are hired out largely in advance, therefore transport options are limited. Overall a great experience, highly recommend looking into hamilton island and booking transport / and or things to do.

Explore cruises to Whitehaven Beach and Chalkies Beach departing from Hamilton Island Marina. 4th December 2020
This is the group to snorkel and cruise with. We went on one of their catamaran On The Edge skippered by Mark and his crew Helena and Luke.
This team worked expertly well together, were extremely organised making our time with them memorable.
Highly recommended

Cruise Whitsundays provided a wonderful tour of Whitehaven Beach and Hamilton Island. A beautiful lunch provided at Hamilton Island and all swimming equipment provided at Whitehaven Beach. All crew were very friendly and helpful - Rima and Cherene were very helpful in answering our questions and going out of their way to make sure we were having an enjoyable time.

Wife and I enjoyed a cruise out to Whitehaven and then on Hamilton after lunch.

Must say was a long day for only 1 and a bit hours on Whitehaven. More travel then time on beach.

Nobody's fault but the weather also did not really happen for us either, seas were rough, bit of sun on the beach but that's about it.

Have been to many beaches around the world and I think it is a big call saying Whitehaven is best in the world. Def a nice spot but I do not think it lives up to the reputation it has gained but my opinion only, pretty yes but best in world a big call

Staff on the cruise were fantastic and very friendly from start to finish. Cannot fault them at all. Thank you

Would I recommend it yes, would I do it again No. Been there done that.

As stated it was still enjoyable and we wanted to do it also for the sake of the tourism in Airlie, they have done it tough like the rest of Australia and need out support.

We went on a rainy day but the crew did their best. Water warm and sand is white. Worth a visit,
My kids all teens, would be terrible on a wet day to take a baby / toddler.
The critical message that no one tells you is that you are dropped off 4 km from the inlet where all the amazing photos are taken. The beach is great but the Whitehaven signature photos are all taken of and from or above ( helicopter or sea plane) the inlet. The crew actively tell you not to walk there and back.

I am sorry that the weather was less than ideal on your recent visit to the Whitsundays, but as you stated we are quite lucky to still get to enjoy the warmth. We do aim to advertise with complete transparency and all brochure and website material do state that this tour visits the southern end of Whitehaven Beach only and does not visit the Hill Inlet or Lookout. Unfortunately there is insufficient time to do the return walk from the Southern Beach location.
