The drive up is almost as exciting as the ride as the road is so tight and twisty! 😂 We were offered glasses to protect our eyes and jackets for the wind - both advisable! The ride is exhilarating at the start then it slows to calm and silent to give you time to soak in the views and enjoy the experience. Really enjoyed the skywire. So lucky to be able to see that native bush on private land. Absolutely breath taking. The Skywire experience was really good fun and felt completely safe. We loved flying above the trees at high speed and the views were amazing! We did the Bayview Circuit and I highly recommend this adventure-based activity. Our guide was Ben, and he was fabulous. Right from the start, he was methodical in going through all of the safety precautions and rules and he also provided detailed explanations on what to expect. My friend was not comfortable on the quad bike during the practice run, so Ben offered her an alternative ATV vehicle that suited her perfectly. After the practice run to ensure we were confident with our chosen vehicles, we headed off on our adventure where we rode through mostly untouched forest to make our way to the Bay View lookout where we enjoyed refreshments and beautiful views in a tranquil and peaceful environment.
As part of this activity, we also included the Skywire experience which I also highly recommend to everyone. The scenery is amazing and flying through the air at around 80 km an hour gives you such a sense of freedom.
The entire team at Cable Bay Adventure Park were a pleasure to deal with, and I would definitely recommend any of the adventure options offered by Cable Bay Adventures.
Ben, thanks for a memorable experience, your professionalism, and attitude ensured that we are confident with our vehicles and therefore we thoroughly enjoyed the entire experience.

One of the funnest experiences on our trip to NZ. My wife hadn’t ridden a quad bike before and with a bit of coaching from Richard Ussher she was underway and smiling. The circuit up through the native forest to the skywire is spectacular. The skywire itself was exhilarating and so much fun. My kids loved it especially riding around on the quads up to the Bayview lookout. We also had a lot of fun petting and feeding the animals. All in it was a great day out and I highly recommend a visit!

I contacted them before booking to ensure they could accommodate my wife sitting on as a passenger which they can with special double quads. She remarked it was the most comfortable quad bike experience we’ve ever done.
They organise a competency test to ensure you are comfortable on the bike before you set off which I’ve never seen before however provide invaluable as one of the other guests did not have the confidence needed so they have a 4 by 4 with a steering wheel which she used perfectly.
The view are amazing as you drive around as the playground of hills and river crossings at the end are great fun.
Would highly recommend this experience

We had never taken a quad bike tour in any of our travels, but this sounded like a fun experience, so we decided to give it a go. It was AMAZING! The bikes were well-maintained and easy to operate. The paths were easy to navigate, and our guide, Colin, was EXCELLENT! My husband teaches Environmental Science and Zoology, and Colin was extremely well-versed in the local birds and plant life. We were fortunate to be the only two on the tour as we are in NZ during the winter, and we felt as though it was catered for us! We enjoyed the beauty of the ride as well as the exquisite Harbour View. In addition, we walked out and saw the farm animals at the adventure park. This is a must do experience for anyone visiting in the Nelson area!

Fantastic afternoon. We landed at 11 am and were on our excursion by 1:30 pm. Karin (sp) our guide was super personable telling great stories and sharing suggestions on other activities and hikes for us to consider while on the the south island. The ride was great and he suggested we add on the Sky wire experience when we stopped for the view. So glad we took him up on it! The views and ride was amazing!

Now i have never driven a quad bike before and I'm not sure which instructor i was with but they didn't explain how the quad bikes worked very well at all and were very belittling when you have trouble with them. The practice track was filled with holes so it was impossible to get used to how the quad bikes control before being thrown all over the place. They didn't have the patience to teach you and give you time to get used to the controls, it's either get it perfect first try or you have to be a passenger. So essentially if you have driven a quad bike before and are familiar with how they control you might have a good time but if this is your first time? Definitely don't come here, very not beginner friendly.

With quad biking being at the top rate of accidents and fatality in New Zealand, there are a lot of steps and protocols to adhere to, to be able to offer such a tour, especially to those who have never driven a quad bike before. We would say that on average about 80% of our customers have never driven a quad bike before. For the terrain that we take you on up through the native forest, their 100% needs to be clear signs that you are competent in operating the quad bike. There does need to be a cap on how much time is spent on the practice track, for us this is 3 loops and by the 3rd loop you need to be showing signs that you are comfortable driving the bike. Their does need to be a bit of a "click" as to to how the bikes feel to drive/stop/turn and maneuver through uneven terrain.
If this is not shown, then our second best option is the side by side vehicles, and then finally the option to either ride as a passenger or to not join the tour as we don't think we can safely guide you.
All of the above steps are to ensure the safety of our customers as the main priority. Accidents can, and do happen and at the end of the day, we would rather give the customers money back then to risk their safety.
I hope you can understand a little where we come from from a health & safety aspect. Under no circumstances should you have ever felt belittled, and if that is the case then i do sincerely apologize on behalf,

Fantastic experience. Very robust bikes. Good introduction to riding. Fletch was a great guide both about the bikes and also the plant and tree life.
Views from the top of the ride were spectacular.
Worth doubling up with the Skywire on the way up.

We loved the combo experience of quad biking and the flying fox. We had our kids on the back of ours. The staff were extremely friendly, knowledgeable and helpful. It was a great activity and we all loved it. The total time was about 4 hours.

Georgia was a brilliant guide from start to finish, everything explained thoroughly and answered all questions throughout. She was friendly and knowledgeable and made our ride the best it could have been. A really enjoyable experience with amazing views. Would definitely recommend.

My party of 4 will be in Stanley Brook and looking for something to do for 1/2 day while others are fishing. There is a 10 and a 1330 tour? Would you. have any recommendation as to how we can get to Cable Bay Adventure Park from Stanley Brook? We won't have our own transportation, thanks
