          Extraordinary day in Abel Tasman
We couldn't have spent a more glorious day in Abel Tasman park with our wonderful guide, Lucy, who was so courteous, patient, knowledgeable, and fun! Lucy pointed out all the plant and animal life to us, packed all of the essentials (sunscreen, water, a delicious lunch, and even a towel to dry our feet after crossing a small stream), and took care of all the details (the water taxi schedule, which place to stop for breaks) so that we could take in the beauty without worrying about a thing. This is a very special corner of the world, made all the more special by being able to enjoy it with such a an attentive guide.

          Forest, mountains, lakes
We had a most pleasant day touring Nelson Lakes N.P. with our guide Sonya from Wine Art Wilderness. She picked us up at our accommodation in a fine Mercedes and drove down to the park. The visit started a morning walk that focused on the nature recovery section near Lake Rotiti where efforts to eliminate predators are ongoing to help restore the beech forest. Educational with spectacular scenery all through the day. A very good lunch is included in the trip. Great fun.

Wonderful coastal walk and boat ride.
Abel Tasman is one of the best National Parks in New Zealand, not be missed and only accessible by boat / water ferry. This trip picks you up from Hotel and arranges travel via boat to Abel Tasman, your guide will be one of the best, and take you on a wonderful stroll along the coast pointing out animal and flora points of interest. The views are stunning and what’s better your be offered a great lunch as well . Great day out and well recommended.

          Hiking adventure
Lucy was a great guide, and very informative. The trail was beautiful. Vistas from every turn. This is a must do hike when in Nelson. This company has 23 different tours, so look into all of them to find one that fits your desires.

Not a good value - you are paying over 300 dollars for another company's $50 tour.
This tour company is charging over $300 us dollars for another company's $54 dollar tour. For that 250 dollars you get a tour guide for the day, a ride to and from Nelson, and a standard box lunch. This is not a good value, particularly in New Zealand. A guide is not needed for the walk. It is very well marked. There are inexpensive buses to and from Nelson or you can take a taxi. I do not recommend this tour, and I feel taken advantage of as a tourist. Go with Abel Tasman Sea Shuttles directly and save yourself hundreds of dollars.

          Allen our guide rocked it.
Allen our guide was amazing! The park was of course beautiful and we got to see more than the itinerary as we were in shape and therefore had plenty of time.

What an incredible experience! Lucy, our guide was phenomenal! She provided incredible knowledge about the region, the history, taught us about all the different types of native plants/trees, preservation efforts and a lot of about the native birds as well! She was so much fun and she took great care of us! Definitely recommend this experience. Great day!

          Fantastic day out
This was a great tour. Luxury for sure. Lucy our guide was exceptional. She was able to give us lots of information about the region, plants and the history. Lucy provided us with everything from sun lotion and hiking poles to a great picnic lunch by the beach. Nothing was too much trouble for her to ensure we had a great time and got the most out of the tour. Quite clearly she loves her job and this comes through continually. As Aucklanders we felt that we really got to know another part of New Zealand. This is an excellent way to do it. We highly recommend this tour.

          Amazing Able Tasman
We had an absolutely wonderful day with Zane as our host. With a short boat ride to the national park we embarked our on walking tour. We loved the focus on native plants and wildlife with plenty of insightful information on the care and restoration of this picturesque part of NZ. Delicious lunch and snacks and plenty of quality chat it really was a special experience. Highly recommend.

If you only have a day for the Abel Tasman National Park, this is THE tour.
Enjoyed every aspect of this experience in Abel Tasman National park. Extremely accommodating and friendly staff who managed to work around my delayed flight. Our guide Lucy was knowledgeable, friendly and clearly had a passion for this part of the world. The scenery was every bit as good as I had imagined and the lunch first rate.If you only a day this is the Abel Tasman tour.

          Awesome Art in Nelson
My husband and I took two tours with Zane and Sonya of Wine Art Wilderness Tours, a kayak/hike in the Abel Tasman and a art and wine tour in and around Nelson. I am reviewing the art/wine tour as my husband has already reviewed our day in Abel Tasman National Park. While hiking with Zane, we chatted about our interests, especially in art, as I'm a jewelry artist myself. Zane was able to organize a visit to a phenomenal jewelry artist living in Nelson, as part of our art/wine tour. The artist welcomed us into her home studio and spent over an hour discussing her work with me. Her talent, generosity and enthusiasm blew me away. This was honestly the highlight of my trip to New Zealand and an experience I will treasure always. Thank you, Zane. Sonya was our guide for the art/wine tour and shared several favorite galleries with us. She was so patient while I asked a lot of questions. She also was very knowledgeable about wine production which made the walking tour of the Flaxmore Winery very informative. Wine Art Wilderness Tours is the group to use when visiting the Nelson area! Zane and Sonya are fun and easy to be with, and really know the people and places to visit. I will recommend them to any friends and family that plan on seeing New Zealand.

Memorable Kayak & Hike of Abel Tasman N.P.
Fantastic tour with Zane, kayaking Abel Tasman for 1/2 day, then hiking to several spectacular overlooks in the afternoon and a water taxi back to our starting point. Zane enjoyed sharing his vast knowledge of the park and its wildlife and fauna and we loved learning about it. Abel Tasman should be on the top of your list for a visit to NZ and we heartedly recommend Wine, Art, and Wilderness tours to see it and the Nelson area. My wife and I are, I guess, in that senior citizen age range, and Zane took extra good care of us. My wife had never kayaked in anything but a modest sized lake, but with Zane's care and concern she loved kayaking in the Tasman Sea and talks (brags?) about her accomplishment! He got some great pictures of us hiking that will receive a 2-page spread in our photo book of NZ. Thanks Zane! This was one of the very top experiences we had during our month in NZ, Most highly recommended. BTW, one of the other top experience was on their Wine & Art tour. Great job!

Great service and wonderful tour guide!
We changed our planned tour at the last minute without any issue - great communication and response. And even better, we had an amazing day learning about Nelson, visiting various sites and had a wonderful picnic lunch at Rabbit Island. Would highly recommend! Loved our guide Lucy!

Zane is a consummate guide with an engaging manner that will transform your tour to a lasting memory of an unforgettable experience. We rate Zane as one of the best guides we’ve encountered. Golden Bay is s must-see while in NZ. We’ll never forget walking on the compact sand of Wharariki Beach and seeing the arch. We were ever so fortunate to see seal pups frolicking in a pool while being watched by one of the mothers. And Zane prepared a gourmet lunch of home-smoked salmon and turkey.

A stunning set of locations with a lot of variety packed in. It was a rainy day so we were all aware we weren't seeing the locations at their best but they still looked incredible. Our tour guide Lucy worked around the weather to adjust plans and make our trip as comfortable and memorable as possible. Lucy's local and national knowledge of NZ was flawless and she gave us all lots of travel ideas and advice as well as unique local insights. A really excellent day overall despite disappointing weather.

Sonia, our guide for the day, did an excellent job of showing us all that the Golden Bay area has to offer. She arranged tea and coffee on the beach and took us on several wonderful park walks. Her choice of a restaurant for lunch was ideal. Our afternoon was spent on a relaxing stroll to PuPu springs as well as other short trecks.
On the return trip to Nelson, we stopped for ice cream and fruit as well as a fun cheese specialty shop where my wife and I stocked up on the local favorites to enjoy later on our New Zealand adventure.
In short, Sonia went above and beyond to ensure that our day exploring the region was a successful one.

The Golden sands and that beautful beach is well worth the costal drive from Ruby bay. The last time we visited the beach was 30 years ago. We were pleased to find this hidden gem again.

Noel arranged an amazing 2 1/2 days for us in Nelson, New Zealand, making it the highlight of our 2 week trip to New Zealand. He picked us up at the airport, and noted that our travel agent had basically booked us for the same area for 2 days. He therefore arranged the following really fantastic tours for us. The first day we took an all-day boat rideat Abel Tasman National Park with a very knowledgeable and kind guide named Rod Stewart (not THE Rod Stewart, but quite attractive), had a lovely lunch, then kayaked with seals, and took a very nice hike in the bush. The second day Noel arranged for us to go with Blair as our guide to Golden Bay, stopping to hike to a waterfall, walk to the clearest lake in the world, and then having lunch at Golden Bay (with lunch partially and deliciously prepared by Noel's wife). Because it looked like it was going to rain in the afternoon, Noel and Blair were really flexible and made arrangements for us to visit 2 wineries on the way back. Noel also suggested a wonderful restaurant in Nelson (Hopgood's). We felt very cared for and had a fantastic time. We would have loved to do the art tour with Noel if we'd had another day in Nelson.

I spent 3 days with Noel, on day trips from Nelson to Golden Bay, Tasman Bay, and, the very best, the "Wild Northwest". He was personable with a good sense of humor and has a vast amount of knowledge about the history, art, culture, geology, flora and fauna of the area (and NZ generally) which he shares enthusiastically but, rare in a tour guide, in my experience, also knew when just to be quiet so we could soak up the natural sounds and beauty around us. He was only stumped on one question, and I asked a lot! Comfortable van, tasty and healthy picnic lunches, ANZAC biscuits for tea breaks. Noel - please don't retire before I have a chance to get back to Nelson and go out to Wharariki Beach again!

Lucy's wealth of information about the area's history, economy & especially the local flora & fauna made for an amazing day. Our upcoming trek on Abel Tasman will be so much richer because of our increased appreciation for the wildlife.

I had a great day with Noel visiting the Golden Bay. There were a few short and longer hikes, many beautiful viewpoints, very varied landscape, from forest to sea to springs and waterfalls to mountains. Noel knows every stone and plant and I found out lots of stuff. As I was alone, we had time to cover more than the usual tour does, including a beautiful waterfall hidden in the forest. Everything was included, lunch, tea, coffee, water and snacks, with a special mention for excellent cookies baked by Noel's wife. I will definitely book another tour with this company when I'm in the area again!
