Went the extra mile, highly recommend.
We booked a drop off to do Spooners Tunnel, then ride back to town. We had our own bikes. All was good until we struck a strange technical issue with a tyre. Mike was amazing. He took us back to Richmond, got it fixed, then dropped us back close to our original goal. I got to ride through the tunnel twice in the end. Thank you Kiwi Joutneys for making what could have been a disastrous day into a memorable one.

      An exhilarating three days
Bursting into the light as we came out of Spooners tunnel led to my favourite part of the trail: freewheeling down the old railway line, high above the wide valley, and gently descending to the valley floor. Reminded me of galloping a horse on the beach. My daughter's favourite section was the Waimea estuary at high tide, where the cycleway often crosses the water. When the tide was lower, there were so many shorebirds calmly feeding as the water retreated. At one point we had a strong head wind for a while, but our e-bikes took care of that! So much fun.

A Fabulous Ride ,The Great Taste Trail, thank you Kiwi Journeys
Kiwi Journeys made sure our experience of the Great Taste Trail was tremendous. Right from first contact, the reservations team were a pleasure to deal with as they took a personal interest in every aspect of our arrangements. The details of every day of the ride, options for great taste experiences and descriptions of route and accommodation were provided well before our trip starting date and it was no effort to tailor these to our group of four. It was no problem to add on a stay in the Abel Tasman National Park which included a kayak tour. There is great variety of experiences on the trail and diversity of beautiful scenery . The accommodation was excellent and in great locations Could not recommend them more highly and hope to return in the future.

Kiwi Journeys with a big group of 17 friends on the Dunston bike trail from Clyde to Carrick winery
I would highly recommend Kiwi journeys who could not have done a better job right from early engagement to completion. I did loads of research with other providers with Kiwi Journeys coming in the cheapest. Best service + best price = best experience! Thanks team. We all had an amazing time!

      Lake Dunstan - E Bikes
Kiwi journeys were very easy to deal with during the booking process, we had a group of 15 women. On our way to the South Island we checked the weather, the forecast for a nice day wasn't looking promising. I quickly emailed them whilst boarding the plane. Time we had landed we had a missed called an email to follow up with options for changing the day for our bike ride. It was so very accommodating moving the whole booking to the following day. We couldn’t of got better weather either. There hospitality, bikes and gear were 5 stars. highly recommend using Kiwi Journeys.

      Amazing trail ride experience!!!
We just completed the Dunstan Trail and Otago Central Trail Ride and could not fault the service of Kiwi Journeys. Extremely responsive, professional and such a well run company. Everyone we dealt with was friendly and helpful. The logistics of transferring our bags each day were seamless, the digital itinerary was fantastic, the bikes were of top quality, the accommodation and dinner reservations were outstanding. 20/10 recommend!!

Amazing cycle ride Cromwell to Roxburgh. You will not be disappointed.
We spent the most amazing day cycling the Lake Dunstan trail to Clyde and then onto Roxburgh. Almost 100km including the jet boat, so It is a big ride to do in 1 day but totally worth it. The mountain bike was excellent for the terrain and also lights available. Kiwi Journeys were amazing, organising the bikes to be available the day before and also picking us up at the end and taking us to Clyde. They also made excellent recommendations for hotel and restaurant reservations. Thank you Sandra.

Exhilarating challenges at times along the narrow winding trails reveling breathtaking panoramic views.
Amazing views, thrilling and scary moments with sections very narrow and nerve-wracking on the first 2 days of the 6 day trail. It was easy to navigate the route independently and well signed which add to the adventure. The accommodation was very comfortable and perfectly suited to our needs. The experience offered an exhilarating and memorable journey which was both challenging at times but offered picturesque terrain. A debriefing at the end would have allowed for us to reflect on this great bike trail.

      Otago Cycle Trail
Loved our cycle trip along the Dunstan, Roxburgh and Clutha Gold trails. The hire bikes, accommodation, transfers and communication's with Kiwi Journeys were perfect. This is the second time we have used Kiwi Journey's and each time the service was perfect. Doing two long days and then a short 3rd day in Millers Flat is a great way to break the journey. The stand out accommodation providers were Roxburgh Motels with so many added extras, the friendliest most helpful service, cleanest and well presented accommodation. The shipping container cabins at Millers Flat were perfect for a longer stay in a very private setting.

      AWESOME KIWI JOURNEYS
WESTCOAST WILDERNESS TRAIL From start to finish this was a fantastic trip, brilliantly organised by Kiwi Journeys. A lot of trips start in Greymouth and end in Ross but we found going the other way was a great option - cycling down the switchbacks, harder than going up I'd say. We were met by friendly, happy and hilarious Lauren who along with Suzanne looked after us throughout. We had equally friendly and happy drivers in Dee,who was also a great guide at the Hokitika Gorge, and Kira also was entertaining and great fun to talk to driving six of us to Ross. The bikes were top and the accommodation was superb. Also great advice for first time E-bike riders. We hope to do more cycling trips so will be in contact for the next one. Highly recommend.

      Great 4 day ride
Booking process and information pre trip was faultless. On the day everything worked well and we were collected at the correct time and delivered to the base. All organization from that point was well done and no complaints at all. All staff were very friendly and went out of their way when bad weather caused us to re-think the ride. All accommodation was again superb Special mention to Susanne who was so helpful

We had a great ride out to Mapua from Nelson leaving at 9.00am and returning at 5.00. 4 of us hired the bikes and we loved the E-bike experience, especially valuable when returning home. Really excellent service from staff in helping us get set up on our bikes, which were in great condition. Mapua ferry ride added an extra dimension to the trip also. Mostly well signposted and pretty rides along the coast especially when the tide is in.
Fantastic food at Apple Shed cafe.

    Thanks Kiwi journeys!!

We were impressed with the e bikes and found the service at both Nelson and Mapua excellent. It was the most beautiful day to take a leisurely ride through to Mapua. Good spots to refresh on the way, if off the trail a bit. Watch the swing bridge....it gets the speed wobbles.😄 Even for the least fit of the 4 we found it very manageable. Gel seats could be good!!!!

Hi Jillian So pleased to hear you guys had an awesome day of riding and enjoyed the e-bikes and exploring the Great Taste Trail. Yes the Swing Bridge gets a little shaky if too many people are on it at the same time. We look forward to seeing you next time you are in Nelson Lynnie

We had an awesome experience with Kiwi Journeys! They were incredibly accommodating and helpful. They got us all set up with great quality bikes and helmets, complementary water, a lock, and a map. They also make sure we knew where we were going and how to reach them if there were any issues. We biked the Great Taste trail from the Mapua shop into Nelson and it was a gorgeous and enjoyable ride. Would highly recommend doing this!

Many thanks for your great review and we loved hearing about your great day out. The ride between Nelson and Mapua is such a lovely 32km ride with plenty of cafe's, wineries and craft breweries to visit along the way. We look forward to seeing you next time and maybe you might want to ride the Spooners Tunnel next time. Lynnie

We booked a self-guided cycle tour through Kiwi Journeys. The route followed Tasman's Great Taste Cycle Trail, from Nelson to Mapua, via Rabbit Island. Kiwi Journeys provided bikes with odometers, helmets, trail maps, ferry transportation from the island to Mapua, and shuttle service from Mapua back to Nelson. The 33k cycle ride followed the coast along boardwalks, bridges, and paved trails, with beautiful water views. We had time to enjoy a great beach on Rabbit Island before boarding the ferry to Mapua and catching the shuttle back to Nelson. It was a great day, thanks to Kiwi Journeys.

So pleased to get your review and thrilled to hear you enjoyed one of our most popular day tours the Nelson-Mapua day out. Always good to know you only have to ride one way and can sit back and enjoy the shuttle back after taking in the vibe of Mapua Village. Next time you are in town you will have to try the Spooners Tunnel day out.

Quite a lot of the Tripp is along busy roads and industrial parks. Rabbit island has a pleasant beach but not worth 3 hours on a bike.
They screwed up my reservation and neglected to give me a water bottle or any direction on where the pickup spot was supposed to be. Staff in Nelson was chatty but dim. I would skip this outfit and head to Abel Tasman instead.

we hired a tandem to make it a bit different. despite the weather it was an amazing ride, the bird life was brilliant and the scenery wonderful. The bike was good and we were provided with drink bottles and a map. The staff were excellent in helping us decide our trip for the day. The pick up and ride back was great George even turned round and went back when I realised I'd left my new hat in Mapua. The route felt safe, there were no hills - always a bonus. I would highly recommend this trip.

Great service from the Kiwi Journey team, they were incredibly helpful from the moment we made our booking. Great tips given about where to stop since we started our cycle tour really late. The actual ride was "ok" the last 20mins was the best part and then arriving at the incredibly beautiful Mapua was mind blowingly gorgeous.

We had a fantastic vineyard bike ride experience with kiwi journeys.
We hired an e-bike, and using the provided map managed to navigate our way across the Upper Moutere wine valley, visiting three vineyards. It was wonderful!! We cycled down beautiful country roads, visited cellar doors & had exceptional wine tastings, stopped for lunch at the Moutere Inn, the oldest pub in New Zealand.
Vineyards we visited were Neudorf, Moutere Hills & Kahurangi. We biked passed acres and acres of hops, apple & plum orchards, strawberry farms, eucalyptus tree farms.
It was a delight to the senses! Highly recommend you go with Kiwi Journeys for your bike experience.
