A wonderful and educational beautiful hike along this amazing trail, guided by the very knowledgeable and engaging “PC”. Followed this with the Mitre Peak Milford Sound boat trip. A really great combination. Highly recommended.

A wonderful experience. Our driver/guide Madeleine did a fantastic job. She was not only very kind, she learned us a lot about the nature she loves. The additional walks we’re just a wonderful experience. The day tour is the best way to experience Milford Sound.

We did the amazing Fiordland great 3 day package. What a wonderful experience! From the beginning T+T's communication was prompt, providing reassurance on fitness levels required, experience, heights etc. Their gear (they offered complimentary use of new wet weather gear and walking poles), their guides and their knowledge was outstanding. There were 6 on our walks, with 2 guides each day. Ro, John, Tamara and Grace were knowledgeable, patient, encouraging and fun. Informative on plants, birdlife and the area generally - this totally enhanced our experience. The helicopter ride was a highlight, and all three walks and cruise provided an amazing introduction to this special area of NZ. Could not recommend this package with Trips and Tramps more highly.

Extremely efficient and Highly organised business. Staff were amazing, knowledgeable and entertaining. As a solo travel I was welcomed and included in the group. The interlinking services from the heli flight, water taxis, cruise and bus transport as well as lunch provider were all awesome services. Absolutely loved my 3 day hike over three great treks.

Wow - just wow! Trips and Tramps were absolutely fabulous to travel with. Small, personalised tour with expert guides who not only educated us, fed us with delicious lunches and snacks, but also knew the ‘tips and tricks’ to do and see the best. We originally felt as though we were ‘cheating’ a bit by not trekking each track completely and camping overnight, but boy, were we wrong 😑. Having completed 3 magnificent walks each day, we knew we got the best-of-the-best and experienced each track at it’s peak. Routeburn - magnificent. Milford Sound - spectacular. Kepler Track - simply amazing. We would not hesitate to recommend Trips and Tramps and we plan to return to do another tour with our adult children. So much for not being ‘tour’ people - this was not a run of the mill tour but a well planned, informative and well executed, lifetime experience. Thank you Trips and Tramps - until next time. ☺️

Our best day exploring in Te Anau, Milford Sound. Ross is a walking almanac with so much knowledge about the area, wildlife, history, and more. A comfortable drive to Milford sound and back with plenty of stops along the way for walks and photo opportunities. A lovely lunch provided and some insider tips to get the best views onboard our Milford cruise. I really enjoyed the personal one on one interaction.Ross is a true gentleman ensuring we were well looked after the entire day. Can't wait to return for another adventure! Highly recommend Trips and Tramps. Five star all the way.

We absolutely loved our day walk at Routeburn Track with John, he was so knowledgeable and very accomodating to our interests. He really spent the time to get to know us and in turn used this to tailor the experience to us. We couldn’t fault the entire day!

What an incredible experience! Geoff is an excellent guide who really cared about every person. The highlight for us was the helicopter ride over to our first trek. Spectacular! If you’re looking for a small, personalised experience to see some amazing New Zealand walks - this is it. We also really loved the town of Te Anau. ❤️

We did the 3 day package of 1) Kepler Heli hike 2) Routeburn + key summit 3) Milford Cruise and tour. Everything from booking to the start of the tour ran smoothly. Excellent communication and very friendly service. We did not feel out of place at all(Its only me, my husband and the guide). The first 2 days we did the Kepler and Routeburn key summit, the guides were fantastic (Jeff and John)!!! They are so chill and knowledgeable. Its like we knew each other from before! On our 2nd day we were actually expecting that we will have a bad tour because it was all rain and clouds, but John made sure that we will have a good time. Lastly we just finished the Milford day tour, our guide Andrew, talked to us all the way about the stuff we found on the way. Very informative and we were able to see some rare birds. This is our first time in NZ and this tour made it more memorable. Highly recommended.

The photography workshop instructors have chosen Steve Norris, Trips and Tramps, to be the driver/guide for the 10 day New Zealand workshop for several years. Steve is excellent at making the drives between locations comfortable, knowing when coffee breaks are needed on cold days, knowing where the good cafes are for lunch stops, etc. He is very knowledgeable about the South Island geography and history, providing commentary along the way. Very helpful, highly recommended.

Steve Norris, the CEO of Trips & Tramps, was our guide for a 10-day photo workshop. He is very knowledgeable about points of interest for photographers. He is also personable and compassionate when extra help is needed. He allowed me to do more than I could have done without his help. Oh, he also knows the good places to stop for lunch—a great buddy and guide to have for your dream trip to New Zealand.

Firstly , nothing Bad !! All good. The trip took the stress of driving away so we could enjoy the wonderful scenery! John , our guide was attentive and informative. He was a great companion for the day !!Truly enjoyable and memorable.

Trips & Tramps drove us to Milford Sound from Te Anau. It was much more fun than expected. Lots of great information from Ro, our driver. She kept things interesting even with the fog hiding the views for the first part of the trip. She made us feel special by showing us her favorite spots and being flexible if some place wasn’t accessible.

Andrew was a wonderful guide and driver to Milford Sound. He was knowledgeable and gave an informative narration about the region, the flora and fauna, climate change etc. during a 2 hour drive to Milford Sound so that the time passed quickly. There were a number of stops on the way there and back including an easy hike through the woods to talk about the beautiful trees and magical wooded spaces that make New Zealand so special. The boat ride on Milford Sound was terrific and the rain held up so that there were clouds hovering near the waterfalls. It was magnificent! A great trip! Thank you Andrew!
