- Nicola S0 contributionsOne Tour to Rule them allWe did a LOTR tour with Vicky because hubby is a fan (of LOTR, though we thought Vicky was awesome too 😉). Even though I am a LOTR novice, I thoroughly enjoyed the stream of anecdotes from the making of the movies, and getting to see the scenery was fantastic. A great way to see beyond the Queenstown city centre, and dressing up was a hoot too. Thanks, Vicky, for a fantastic experience!Written 26 September 2024

- lucygC14UJ0 contributionsThe best tours company! An unforgettable experience. We have just got back from doing the full day Milford Sound trip, which was a bucket list trip for us. Everything from start to finish went so smoothly. Graeme was our tour guide for the day and he was absolutely brilliant! He was extremely informative and we found out so much more about Queenstown and the history throughout the journey. Would highly recommend Altitude to anyone looking for tours/excursions! We can’t thank Graeme enough for such an amazing day. It’s our last day in Queenstown and it was made extra special! When we visit again in the future we will definitely be doing more excursions with Altitude and we will remember this trip for the rest of our lives. Thank you so much Graeme!Written 17 September 2024

It was clear how passionate he is about his job, and his enthusiasm made us feel completely at ease and safe throughout the journey. Thank you, James, for making our day even better than we could have imagined! Highly recommended and remember to drop his name - James for a 10% discount lol :))Written 12 September 2024

Do's excellent local knowledge combined with the sophisticated pallets of the sumilians made it a well worthy experience. - katehT4950OV0 contributionsEnchanting! Our visit to Glenorchy and Paradise was nothing short of magical. Do, our guide, was an absolute delight—she made the day so enjoyable with her warm personality and lively stories. Her enthusiasm was infectious, and she kept us thoroughly entertained from start to finish. The scenery was nothing short of breathtaking, with every turn offering stunning views that left us in awe. The kiwi morning tea was a lovely touch, and the cheese rolls were especially delicious—definitely a highlight of the morning. Overall, we had an unforgettable time and would highly recommend this tour to anyone looking to explore the beauty of Glenorchy and Paradise. (Just wanted to add that we took up Do’s recommendation for Frank’s possum socks, and I’m so glad we took her advice! They’re incredibly warm and comfortable—a perfect souvenir from such an amazing trip.)Written 27 August 2024

After a couple days of large coach tours, we were looking forward to a smaller, roomy van experience, as advertised. Unfortunately, we were the last pickup (Hilton) before leaving Queenstown. This placed us crammed in the last row (bench seat) with 4 people across, in a 14 passenger van. It was a miserable experience as my husband is a bigger guy and I have back issues. Every bump in the road was felt and it was difficult to see out the windows. Also air circulation in the back is limited. No accommodations are made for a persons size or special circumstances. We asked the driver if there were any other options and there were not. Last to load will be stuck in the back ALL day, except for the 3hr hike and brief stops for photos and food, etc.
On the plus side, the driver (Tommy) did a good job and the scenery and hike was magnificent. Lesson learned the hard way.

Thank you for taking the time to leave us a review and we're very sorry to hear that you didn't find the vehicle enjoyable. We are striving to provide a premium service throughout our whole tour, with our vans being a huge part of this. We have recently made alterations to the vehicle you were in to make it more spacious and comfortable, by taking out a row of seating and converting it from a 19 seater to 16 seats.
Our guides and reservations team do our best to accomodate to guests needs if made aware in advance however it is always a challenge when being picked up last. Your feedback is a timely reminder to ensure our guides are doing their best to ensure guests are strategically seated where possible.
Again thank you for your feedback and mentioning the positive feedback for Tommy and we are sorry we didn't meet your expectations.

What an absolutely amazing day. We were sooo blessed with nice weather and a magical full day at Mount Cook.
Ana who was our lovely tour guide/driver was really friendly, helpful, informative and knowledgeable throughout the day. The scenery at the Lakes and Mount Cook was stunning even in thick snow and we also had extra stops along the way. Ana was always happy to take photographs and ensure the group maximised their time at each place.
I would highly recommend this awesome Mount Cook tour to anyone who wants to see some beautiful and breathtaking incredible sights and some nice hiking with an exceptional tour guide.
Thank you sooo much once again Ana for a fantastic day even though it was very long but very fun and worthwhile day out which will remain in my memories for a really long time.

The professionalism and enthusiasm of our driver-guide Tommy is very much appreciated. The greeting at pickup spot was warm to begin with, the tempo of stops for coffee and photo session was well-planned, the introduction of all sorts of funny things along the way and good selection of music made the 5 hour one way drive just flew by.
What’s more valuable is that he doesn’t narrowly define his obligations and service - he walked the extra mile(s) sharing his number and responding promptly and comprehensively when I had question during the Hooker Valley hike, shared his story coming to NZD, and even tips on Fergburger! He always volunteered to help guests take photos at scenic spots, which I believe he didn’t have to. And the pics turned out to be great.
Last but not the least, had he not carefully and thoroughly checked the vehicle, my day would have turned from paradise to hell as I left my US$3000+ worth of laptop at the back pocket of a seat at the very back! He messaged me even before I realized the laptop was missing, and contacted office to leave me message. All of these done out of his office hour. I highly appreciate this as I fly out of queenstown the next day.
Thank you a lot!

This is such a lovely review of your tour to Mt Cook, it's great to read in detail all the extra treatment Tommy offers everyone on the tour, reading about his hospitality, friendliness, and great personality solidifies what we already knew but also make us extremely proud to have him apart of our team. It's so lucky you were able to get your laptop back before you left the country. I really appreciate you taking the time to leave such an in-depth review, and thank you for the 5 stars.

Trip to Mount Cook and the Hooker Valley walk were great as the day was sunny. The walking trail itself is well maintained and mostly goes through flat terrain, so its a very relaxing walk to the Hooker lake.
I did the tour with Sinchan. He was enthusiastic, engaging and kept the whole trip interesting with information about landmarks we passed through and history of the area. He never rushed anyone through the photo stops / bathroom breaks etc and he was also very organised about pick ups and drop offs. Overall he made the experience extra fun.

My girlfriend and I had one of the most amazing experiences filled w/ plenty of scenic stops, lookouts and commentary along the journey by our lovely tour guide Ana.
We had the privilege of being looked after by Ana, who was so knowledgeable and supportive throughout the trip ensuring everyone was comfortable and well informed.
If you ever get the opportunity, I highly recommend taking the time to go on an adventure such as this during your stay in Queenstown as it can definitely be worth it (as long as the weather permits it). Initially, we were considering to drive there, but doing this tour made it really stress free, as we were able to focus purely on the scenery of NZ Queenstown and what it had to offer.
I'd like to thank Ana for being an amazing tour guide, and because of you, we will never forget the experience you made for us!
All the best for the future ahead!

Just got back from the most epic tour to Aoraki/Mount Cook and I have to share how awesome it was, especially thanks to our guide Sinchan who helped make the whole trip unforgettable! Sinchan was a legend—super friendly and knew everything about the area. He kept us safe and entertained the whole time, which made a huge difference
Aoraki/Mount Cook itself is breathtaking. We hiked the Hooker Valley track, which was a bit tricky with the icy patches, but totally worth it for the stunning views. The scenery was out of this world too. The journey there was almost as good as the destination! If you’re ever in the South Island, this tour is an absolute must. Thanks again to Sinchan for making this the highlight of my trip.

I had a great day out visiting Mount Cook during my time in Queenstown. Pickup in the morning was quick and easy, the group size wasn’t overwhelming and the transport was comfortable. Tour guide Ana was very kind and informative, she was happy to help with anything required. The weather wasn’t idea during our trip but we made the best of it. I enjoyed a mix of walking, visiting the Edmund Hillary museum and lunch in the cafe at The Hermitage. I’d be glad to join another tour with Ana or anyone else in the team if I returned to Queenstown in the future.

We did the altitude Milford sound tour with Neville. He was a fantastic guide, a great mix of knowledge, humour, helpful and getting us to the destinations safe and on time. As someone formerly in the tourism industry, can say I would highly recommend both the tour and Neville as your guide. As for the destination, simply breathtaking. The stops were spectacular and the boat ride beautiful. Thanks Nev and Altitude tours.

It was a rainy day so I wasn't expecting much. But I had a great time. The landscape along the way is magnificent. We stopped at a cafe for breakfast and visited local farms (Salmon and Lavender). The Lavender Ice Cream was delicious. It was cloudy but Lake Pukaki was a wonder. Although we couldn't finish the Hooker Valley track because of the rain, it was still an amazing experience. James, our driver/guide was very considerate and helped us make the most out of the trip.

Hello. Are the following two options feasible for the tour? 1. Boarding with luggage (Bag) in QueensTown. 2. When the tour ends disembarking in Mt. Cook?
