This trip exceeded our expectations! Not only did we – mom & son - get amazing photos (wow!), we had a glorious time learning from Glen and enjoying the “adventure” of the tour. Highly recommend.

The day started bright and early, so that we could capture a beautiful moody snowy sunrise in Glenorchy. After freezing our butts off, we took a short break in the warmth of the local cafe before heading up the Rees valley. We returned to Queenstown for a few hours downtime before heading out again mid afternoon. As I've never traversed the Skippers Canyon Road, it didn't take much persuading to see how far we could get (with the recent snow on the ground). Not quite to the bottom, but breathtaking all the same. We finished our day at the Remarkables, capturing a 'remarkable' sunset. Glen provided outstanding personalised tuition, demonstrating a genuine commitment to individualised learning. He knew exactly which locations to head to and the perfect time to capture breath taking memorable photos. Glen is incredibly easy to get on with. He's super relaxed and humourous and so talented. He has a wealth of knowledge and global experience punctuated with entertaining anecdotes. No question is too stupid (and I did have a few) but he very patiently talked through any issues. A friend recommended Glen and helped my husband to plan the trip for me. We are both keen to do more trips with Glen and I highly recommend him. A genuine and all round 'good guy'.

I went on two trips with Glen, sunrise in Glenorchy, and a day including sunset in the Nevis Valley. Both trips were very productive and I came away with some excellent photos. Glen is very enthusiastic, attentive, and helpful. My photography skill set is keen amateur and Glen was very capable of helping with settings and composition at my level. Creativity was part of his toolbox which I have tried to illustrate in the attached photos. Locations were excellent. I found him very personable and we chatted constantly both sessions. I would recommend Glen for a photography assignment. A real pro.

Glen is a highly accomplished professional photographer and we learned so much from him during our half day adventure. We had many stops at pristine locations to take pictures and appreciate the beauty of the lake Wakatipu area. Glen was very patient and skillfully managed our group of photographers of varying skill levels from iPhone to enthusiast amateur to an advanced level individual, providing each with valuable tips. He knows the region extremely well and his unique insights enhanced our experience. We had exceptional weather that provided a wealth of opportunities for creative photography that Glen took full advantage of. We highly recommend Glen for a fantastic learning and fun experience in the broader Queenstown area.

Four of us took a Sunset Tour of Skippers Canyon with Glen. His knowledge of the road, capable 4WD vehicle, photography expertise and general enthusiasm made this adventurous trip enjoyable. I captured some unique photographs while also learning about the history of the canyon.

This was full day trip over the Nevis. Glen knows the area well and the best locations and times to get great photos. His positive no problem attitude made this a perfect day. 100% recommended

Had a great 1/2 day tour with Glen in and around Wanaka. He was wonderfully patient and explained everything in great detail. We came away with some amazing shots. Had a great time.

We went out with Glen twice on private photography excursions, once into Skipper’s Canyon at sunset and once at sunrise in Glenorchy and the surrounding area. Glen is a talented photographer and a great guy, a delight to spend time with. The road into Skipper’s Canyon, while not as bad as some online descriptions suggest, nonetheless takes a skilled and experienced driver. Glen has done that drive a zillion times and we felt totally comfortable with him. We captured a number of glorious images in Skipper’s Canyon, mostly the scenery but also inside an old goldrush era schoolhouse. Glenorchy is also a terrific area to photograph, though we didn’t catch a break with the weather conditions, it was more overcast than we would have preferred. Still, Glen’s creativity was on full display as he still was able to come up with good things to shoot despite the conditions. In addition to the photography, Glen is a great area guide—we learned a lot from him on both of our expeditions. Highly recommended.

My two tours with Glen; sunset in Skipper Valley, followed by sunrise in Glenorchy, were one of the key highlights of my 5-week trip in NZ. Glen works hard to ensure you get the most out of a tour while his easy-going laid-back style makes for a fun engagement. Very passionate about his craft and generous with sharing his knowledge on image taking in some stunning locations. As a follow-up, I engaged Glen remotely from Ireland in a couple of Advanced Lightroom processing sessions using the images taken on the tours as the subject matter - got some great tips for creating compelling images. My plan is to regularly engage Glen in refresher sessions

Did the sunrise photography tour and it was raining a bit by the time we reached near the Skippers Canyon area. Glen was super helpful giving critique (technical things such as aperture, focal length and ISO plus lenses) and creative tips on improving the shots and framing as we went through various spots of photo opportunity. He also shouted us morning tea which was very kind and thoughtful. There were 4 of us in the group and we all had a great time - lots of banter and laughs in the car! Breathtaking views and absolutely worth it. AAA+++

A truly memorable experience. We crossed our fingers than the rain would clear after our pre-dawn pick up. With no break in the clouds, Glen helped those with single lens cameras set up for moody long exposure shots with the car headlights. As the clouds lifted, he guided all of us in framing and exposure. Our group had a breadth of equipment from phones to multiple lenses and Glen helped everyone in framing and taking stunning photos throughout the trip. Skippers Canyon is incredibly scenic. If you have any interest in photography, this is the way to see it.

Glen was able to teach a Beginner, my sister, to the level that she spent the rest of the trip wanting to get the shot "right" with enthusiasm As for myself, it was my first landscape course and i was enthralled. Glen worked through lunch and drove us to very unusual landscape in the Nevis valley. We managed to catch the Moon Rise on the way home. The next day was Sunrise in Wanaka- very early start and some good images of pastures and a waterfall.

Our visit to New Zealand was truly memorable, with the attention to detail and personalization that Glen provided. As an amateur photographer, I learned techniques to take better landscape pictures. My photography lens was a 24-70 GM; for a moment, I felt I was missing out on some shots since I did not have a longer lens. Glen also brought his gear to seize the moment, which was an unexpected surprise. I traditionally have Sony Gear, but I was able to use his Nikon cameras and lenses to capture the moment. I never felt rushed when site seeing and felt safe even though the roads were narrow when going off-roading. Glen was exceptionally attentive and willing to go the extra mile on this private tour. Oh, and the blood orange tea that he made was excellent! Thank you, Glen!

Glen has a wealth of experience that he's only too happy to part with. I learnt so much in such a short time. He is flexible to make the most of light, locations and photographers ability. He is passionate about photography and showcasing the beauty of New Zealand landscape. We spent 5hrs around the Wanaka area. Great value for money. I will be back next year!

A thoroughly enjoyable learning experience over three full on days. Glen is an enthusiastic and knowledgeable guide - both photography wise and environmentally. He knows the region and its special places, is utterly flexible in accommodating changes to ensure the best experience and generous with his knowledge. We planned each day based on weather and preferred objectives and along the way had a lot of fun. He will even model if you ask him nicely!
