GOING BLUE E BIKE AMAZING EXPERIENCE
We had an incredible experience with Going Blue Queenstown, thanks to Jay and his amazing team. We hired e-bikes for the trail from Arrowtown to Queenstown, and Jay made the whole process seamless. As newcomers to e-bikes, we really appreciated the detailed instructions Jay provided, ensuring we felt confident before setting off. The trail itself was absolutely breathtaking, with spectacular scenery that made us stop frequently just to soak it all in. The ride exceeded all of our expectations, and by the end, we had successfully completed the journey—even as beginners. Jay and his team were there to pick us up, along with the bikes, which was such a convenient and professional service. We can’t recommend Going Blue Queenstown highly enough, no matter your cycling ability. Jay and his team are professional, friendly, and extremely knowledgeable about the area, making it a truly memorable experience. On top of that, Jay went above and beyond by organizing accommodation for us at an Airbnb hosted by James. James was the perfect host—friendly, accommodating, and thoughtful in every way. The apartment was spotless and equipped with everything you could need for a comfortable stay in Queenstown. Its location was ideal, just 5 minutes from the airport. Thank you to both Jay and James for making our trip to Queenstown so fantastic. We highly recommend Going Blue Queenstown for anyone looking to explore this stunning area!

      The best in queenstown
What a fantastic experience we had today!! At the start of the day Jay dropped off the bikes right to our door step (so convenient :), we did chose to ride on our own way so it was just perfect for our little family! A quick and easy explanation about the bikes and when we were ready on our own time we went off from Arthus Point to Ayrburn. Jay was so kind and offering ride back in case we wanted, but we just love the bikes and the track, we decided ro ride back home. The bikes did just over 35Km with no issues and some battery left still. Did great job up and down the hills even with a Junior Adventurer Trailers at the back ( buggy). We had an amazing experience and a treat for my husband's birthday. Thanks a lot Jay and Going Blue team!!

A very good experience with gorgeous scenery.
The booking process was easy, and we were picked up on time. Our driver was very nice and informative. We loved the ride and the scenery from Arrowtown to Queenstown. The bikes were good, but we did have some issues with the gears/chain on a couple of the bikes. Overall, we had a great experience with Go Bluebikes.

Great ride and very helpful staff
Really great trail ride - we were glad of the e-bikes in part, as there are some steepish hills. Mostly fairly flat though. Found a decent pint at Arthur's Point. Worth the ride just to see the Millbrook Resort - blingy or what!

      Beautiful hilly ride
Beautiful ride! The views were lovely. The bike path was easy to follow. The shuttle driver gave us lots of interesting info and tips on the drive to Arrowtown. However, the ride was more strenuous than expected. We rented the regular mountain bikes and wished we had rented the E bikes. There were several uphills that we had to walk the bikes up. With an E bike though, the path would be easy.

Great scenery great bike very poor directions
This is an extremely scenic rides & the e-bikes are great BUT the rides have a number of very challenging steep down hills & a couple of steep up hills At time we were frustrated by the lack of directions especially going through golf resort section & other intersections on the trail Final frustration was where to park the bikes But I would recommend doing the ride just make sure you have them spend a few detailed moments on getting through golf area & where to leave bikes

      Very accommodating
Hired two ebikes for two days. Bikes, which were Trek hard tails, were dropped off and picked up from our accomodation and were perfect for what we wanted to do. They also seemed to be much cheaper than other providers that we looked at. Staff provided great advice on tracks that would suit us which we followed and thoroughly enjoyed.

      110% recommend! Amazing!!
This was an absolutel highlight of our trip!!!! We had booked our bike winery tour as part of our 30th birthday holiday celebrations. Firstly, our guide Christina was INCREDIBLE. She was extremely professional, shared valuable knowledge about the regions wineries and was very easy to get along with. Christina made our trip extremely enjoyable and fun, and kept up the good vibes as we were on holidays for a 30th birthday. Christina was accommodating and even let us play some of our own music on the way home, which was great! We were given a map to follow, and solid instructions on how to use our bikes. We were also given a number to call Christina if we needed any assistance at all along our ride. The wineries were beautiful! The wine was great - but the ride was honestly the highlight of the whole day. Incredible scenery and a beautiful trail to follow. We have been recommending this tour to all our friends and family and look forward to coming back to tour with you again in the future!!

Easy from the outset to book, getting the bikes and being collected was a breeze. The staff are so friendly and knowledgeable and make the best experience even more special. Will always use Going Blue as our go-to when hiring e-bikes, the service they provide is top knotch every time and worth every penny. Christina was an outstanding tour guide—professional, friendly, and easy to connect with. She made our trip incredibly enjoyable and kept the positive energy flowing, after our day of touring the beautiful wineries, by even allowing us to pick our own music! We had a blast playing some trending songs you often hear on the radio that we could all sing along too. We were celebrating a 30th birthday and it topped off the day with the 4 of us. It was great to have a guide who encouraged us to have fun, share some laughs.

The e-bikes were incredible, easily handling the trails, and the scenery was breathtaking. Christina provided an exceptional explanation of the multiple wineries, atmosphere of each winery which helped us pick and choose, specific and detailed directions and a thorough explanation of the map provided. Christina also ensured we felt confident and comfortable to use the e-bikes providing her number ready to be contacted at anytime if required. Neck warmers were also offered with the bikes which was great in winter! The information provided prior to the tour was extensive and very informative.

The views were something we had never seen before, crystal clear blue waters and beautiful mountains. The bridges were a lot of fun, so many animals along the way and this tour easily was the highlight of our holiday. I wish we had this at home because it was so much fun and absolutely beautiful to witness.

We also met some other wine e-bikers who were down to have a laugh and enjoy the experience just as much as we did!

Thank you again to Christina and Going Blue, you provided exceptional professionalism and a fun uplifting service to make our holiday even better!

    Wow!
This is a stellar tour and a must on any visit to Queenstown!
Going Blue provided such an awesome experience from start to finish!
Thank you Christina for expert guidance, bike fitting and personal recommendations for winery and food stops.
This is a self guided tour which is perfect for those wanting a leisurely pace and time to take in the magnificent views, stop for a snack or the opportunity to do the famous bungee jumping in addition to visiting a great selection of the local wineries.
Going Blue has top notch, newer equipment including Specialized and Trek in the mountain bike and e- bike line up. Instructions were thorough and the e-bikes intuitive.
Highly recommend for anyone who has ever ridden a bike and has a passion to see the outdoors off the beaten path. You are on curated bike paths with next to no riding on public roads.
    Thanks again fora great day!

This was a wonderful bike ride for our family (two parents, two 20-something kids)--a great way to ride the Arrowtown and Gibbston Trail along the Arrow and Kawarau Rivers. Christina and her colleagues were wonderful at picking us up, getting us kitted out on e-bikes, and picking us up at the end of the day.

The ride was breathtaking! The ebikes were essential for covering the ~20 kilometres from Arrowtown to our last stop at Kinross. The gravel trail was more than I had anticipated (probably because of my fear of heights), and the many (many) vistas offset my acrophobia.

New Zealand vintners are serious about their craft! We sampled at Gibbston Valley, Gibbston Tavern, and Rockburn. Staff/owners at each locale were incredibly knowledgeable about their grapes, their wine, and the wonderful ways to describe the many reds, whites, roses, we tried. I regret not bringing a bigger backpack to bring home more bottles.

The shuttle from Kinross to Arrowtown back to Queenstown made for an easy finish to the lovely day.

Thank you for sharing such a detailed and thoughtful review! We're thrilled your family had a wonderful time riding the Arrowtown and Gibbston Trail and enjoyed the stunning scenery along the way. It's great to hear Christina and the team made your experience seamless from start to finish! We're glad the eBikes made the 20km ride enjoyable and allowed you to fully take in the breathtaking vistas—despite the gravel trails and heights. It sounds like you made the most of the incredible wineries along the way! We agree, New Zealand vintners are truly passionate about their craft, and it’s always a treat to sample their exceptional wines. We're so pleased the shuttle made for an easy and relaxed end to your day. Thank you again for choosing Going Blue—we’d love to welcome you back for another adventure! 🚴‍♂️🍷🌿

When we found this activity online we never expected that it would be as amazing as it was! The customer service and communication from
Jay prior to the tour was very good! Once on the tour he took the time to explain which wineries to go to for the best food and drinks. He also went through exactly how the e-bikes worked and how to get the most from the experience.
The scenery was amazing and though we took a few wrong turns we easily redirected ourselves back on track.
I would recommend this for anyone who doesn’t mind putting in some effort - a 20km ride - to get rewards of good wine!
Included in the tour was pick up and drop off which was helpful after a long ride and a few wines ;)
Thank you for a great time! Will definitely do this again if I come back to queenstown!

A well organized tour starting with a convenient pickup in Queenstown and drop off in the Arrowtown City Park which has the cleanest and most high tech toilets I have ever seen. Go Blue's electric bikes effortlessly carried us down the smooth trails and over many suspension bridges. The tour runs through the Central Otago wine country that offers more marvelous wineries than is possible to see in a week let alone a day. The surrounding area is spectacular and our driver was very knowledgeable and courteous.

The views were amazing and the route was very cool, would give that 5 stars. Unfortunately, the quality of the ebike was poor. The display on my bike was old and could not read it unless in perfect light. The touch on the assist button was also poor compared to the many other ebikes I have used. Made it difficult to change assist levels and this is important as the path is dirt, gravel, and sand, and changes elevations constantly. The water bottle holder was bent and some bikes had none. The instruction for routes was poor. The sign after the bungee jump pointed you across the street to other wineries in the wrong direction. So you lose 1 star for quality of the bikes, and 1 star for instruction

Hi m9620, Thanks for your feedback! We’re really glad you enjoyed the views and the route, but I’m sorry to hear you had issues with the bike quality and the instructions. We always encourage our customers to reach out if something doesn’t feel right, and we’re more than happy to swap out bikes or equipment if needed. Our e-bikes, which are from Trek and Giant, are high-quality models valued at $4,000 or $6,500. They're never older than 1.5 years, so they’re not outdated. The LCD brightness setting can easily be adjusted with a simple touch—it’s designed to be intuitive. The auto function also adjusts the power level automatically based on your cadence, so you don’t need to fiddle with settings during your ride. As for the water bottle holder, it’s part of the ergonomic design to maintain the bike’s geometry. Only the small Giant e-bikes are designed without a holder, which is something we can’t change. The ride is only about an hour without access to water unless you bring a backpack. Regarding the route and map, we take pride in offering clear instructions. The sign after the bungy jump is clearly labelled, and the map is tailored to ensure you don’t miss any important spots. You weren’t lost—you just went toward Chard Farm Winery, which is marked on our maps and the meter-wide road sign before you crossed. In fact, we haven’t had anyone get lost on the route for over two years. The sign doesn’t misdirect; there are just multiple wineries in the area. As always, we’re just a phone call away if you need help. Thanks again for sharing your experience—we always aim to improve and ensure our guests have a great time! Cheers, Jay

We’ve just done the Valley of the Vines bike tour yesterday with Jay from “Going Blue” which was great.
Punctual for our pickup which was centrally located towntown Queenstown and we were driven through to Arrowtown. Jay was friendly, informative and helpful and set us up well with great e bikes. He informed us where to go for our day biking from Arrowtown to the many wineries. He checked in on us during the day and promptly picked us up at 4pm from a pre arranged venue.
100% recommend Jay & Going Blue for a great days biking of the wineries & there were many other biking options they offered also. We loved it !! 😎😎

Really good trip, collection from both the meeting point and our final stop (you text and let them know where you are along the trail) were really prompt. Bikes were great - track is reasonably flat but there are some hills so I'd recommend e-bikes if you're not a keen / regular cyclist.
The trail is really scenic as you'd expect and there are lots of lovely stops at vineyards and various eateries along with lots of picturesque photo opportunities.
Arrowtown itself is also worth a look prior to setting off on the trail.
Overall a great experience, staff were really friendly and professional, highly recommended.
