Mt Cook with Altitude Tours is a must!
This is a must-do excursion and be sure to book with Altitude Tours. Our driver and guide, Shawn, was informative and courteous. We had a perfectly blue-sky day and were a group of 7. True magic. We have been in NZ for almost two weeks and found Altitude Tours to be 5*.

    Mt. Cook trip
Amazing trip, beautiful views during bus trip and later during hiking, even Mt. Cook was bit shy that day and was hiding in the clouds. Our tour guide Ana did great job. A lot of interesting information about NZ, culture, nature. Thanks a lot 😀

    Altitude Aoraki/Mt Cook day trip
We were expecting more stops along the way, probably not worth the cost. However the guide was lovely and made the drive interesting.

    Milford Sound Tour
We chose Altitude Tours for a full day Milford Sound trip from Queenstown. They picked us up early near our Airbnb so we didn't have to walk far. We opted for the glass roof shuttle. This was nice, but it's not a must when you are choosing which tour time to do. Our driver, Andy, was great. He was super knowledgeable, friendly, and kept great time. He knew exactly the best places to stop along the drive and kept the group on time so we would hit the Milford port right before our cruise. The cruise itself is a couple hours and travels out of the Sound to the sea and back. My recommendation is to sit in the back of the boat on the way out and the front of the boat on the way back. This keeps you shielded from most of the heavy winds and gives you the best views. The left side of the boat offers the best views out and back as that is the side of the ship that will be closest to the cliffs. The Milford Sound offers some truly staggering sights. For the most part, this is the type of sight where the photos and videos will just not do it justice. What you see in photos will be so much better in person. I advise taking a few photos of the big sights, but to take it in through your own eyes. Your memories will be better than the photos. This is a long trip, but a good one. Your driver will take good care of you and keep you on schedule. This is definitely something you should fit into your Queenstown itinerary and Altitude is a good company to take you.

Milford Sound Scenic Tour & Cruise - Jono is a great guide
Took the Milford Sound Scenic Tour & Cruise with Jono as our coach driver and guide. Did a great job describing the sights along the way with insight into the history of each. His unique life experiences added depth to our understanding of the Māori people and culture.

    Milford Sound in Luxury!
An amazing way to get to Milford Sound, semi-private and very comfortable with a knowledgeable guide (thank you Amy from Venezuela!) There were plenty of stops on the way there and back, and the cruise was the highlight for me even as someone who gets anxious around boats. The team made sure I felt comfortable and let me know I could simply stay at the port if I didn’t feel comfortable boarding. But I did! Amy was able to arrange for my mother to get a plane ride back which was so special and saved her some time on the van (although, as the one who stayed in the van, it was the best way to see the sights in my opinion! I couldn’t look away.) Tip: get the raspberry shake at the stop on the way back in Te Anau. Bring your phone charger, take more photos than you think you need - the guide will be happy to assist you - and make the most of the true 8th Wonder of the World. We’ll be back for Mt. Cook in July, Altitude! Thank you!

This was a fantastic tour, with a fantastic guide. Shaynay took us along the lake to Glenorchy and paradise, with great views and a lovely tea stop along the way. She was super friendly and gave us tons of information. Would recommend for sure.!

    Exhilarating
Do our driver to Milford Sound made the trip very enjoyable. She was full of facts telling us stories and pointing out and explaining the biodiversity of Milford Sound. Milford Sound should be considered as the 8 th wonder of the World.

Paradise tour is a moment in heaven
Thomas was amazing - funny, providing Māori stories, lord of the ring moments and a picnic morning tea. Paradise was a moment in heaven and the mindfulness in the beech grove forest were all highlights of our time together. Thanks to altitude for a great tour

Ana as a guide was truly excellent
I booked the Mount Cook tour with Altitude, but it was a rare drive/fly booking. Apart from being an outstanding guide overall, Ana took truly incredible care to ensure that I made my flight back to Queenstown from Mount Cook Airport. A star of a guide! ⭐️👍

    Great private tour through Bannockburn
I booked Altitude Tours for a private wine tasting tour for group of 16 who were on holidays in Queenstown. Altitude were very obliging over a number of months prior as the itinerary was discussed, changed then agreed and finalised. They were happy to be flexible with our plans, making suitable suggestions for wine tasting locations and lunch when requested. Our final agreed itinerary was just right. Our driver Beth was very friendly and accommodating to our requirements. The Mercedes bus was relatively new and very comfortable. We were picked up from 4 separate locations in Queenstown without fuss. When lunch ran about 1.5 hrs over time Beth was happy to extend her time beyond was was previously agreed, something we were most grateful for. As a tip for anyone else organising a wine tour of the region, when selecting the specific wineries just check that you are going to the winery itself and not a separate sales room / shop front. While pleasant and informative, our visit to Misha's in Cromwell was located in town due to difficulties in getting to the winery itself. Overall, a very good day. Happy to recommend Altitude when organising a tour in the Queenstown region.

We were fortunate to take the Best of Queenstown trip with Dan, who although apparently a "newbie" driver, did an excellent job of narrating our trip. In 4.5 short hours, we were able to see several views of Queenstown, bungee jumping, a jet boat on the river, a boat ride, and we even had a wine tasting at Church wines - which was excellent. Since we knew nothing about Queenstown, we would highly recommend this tour to familiarize yourself with the area.

Lucky in some respects as it turned out to be just the 2 of us so we had a wonderful tour at the hands of the likeable , informative and friendly Ash . Highlights were panning for gold , wine and cheese tasting along with wonderful scenery. Unluckily we became aware at the end of the tour that the boat trip wasn’t possible because there was only the 2 of us . Were given some vouchers for underwater observation but was closing when we got back and were leaving next day . The receptionist did let in for 5 mins to see the fish but I’m not sure if that was the same monies worth as a boat trip . However on the whole great trip made more enjoyable by our guide

Thank you for your feedback—while we're delighted you enjoyed the tour and Ash’s excellent guiding, we’re sorry the boat trip didn’t go as planned. We’ll investigate this further, and please don’t hesitate to reach out to our team if we can assist further.

It has been an absolute delight to be part of this day tour. Jono is the best, full of knowledge and very passionate on his job. He makes all of us well informed. Keeps the guests involve in the tour. Never a dull moment really. The enthusiasm is contagious. Even at stopovers... other guests of tours wants to listen to him and full of admiration like we did. The tour is amazing and I would definitely recommend. Thanks Altitude tours! Big thanks to Jono! Looking forward to more in the future😊

The tour in general was very good with well chosen locations that were interesting. Our guide, Kevin, was very personable and knowledgeable and we wouldn't fault him. Unfortunately the highlight of our trip was to be the boat trip. We were told near the end of the tour that this is had been cancelled due to the weather. Despite it being fine and warm all day, if a little windy. In mitigation entry to another attraction was offered but turned out to be closed ( an experience documented in another review so this has happened before). On arriving back at the lake there were several boats on the water !
What would've been a very enjoyable day ended on a sour note.

Jono completely made this tour for us! For someone only being in the country for 2 years, he was extremely knowledgeable and very passionate. He offered to take pictures of us at every photo opportunity and was genuinely a lovely guy. So happy we got to meet him on our trip. We booked another tour with Altitude after that to Glenorchy because we knew Jono was going to be the driver on that particular day. An absolute asset to Altitude. Thanks Jono :)

Delightful tour of an assortment of places and activities. Tour included several spots in the city along adjacent areas outside the city.

Also included a lovely wine and cheese tasting, for a relaxing start to the day.

Lily was an amazing guide, giving us an useful commentary as well as patiently answering questions about Queenstown.

Her driving was safe and smooth.

Driver guide Dan gave us his best. The introduction and safety was right.
Luckily we were comfortable in a 7 pax group in a 12 ? seat luxury bus. A good look talk on Queenstown and then down the road to Arrow town quaint with really friendly people. Also watched a bunny jump and a Quick Look at Shot over jet boat river action.
The church wine n cheese matching was educational and enjoyable. Will now have to shop for more cheese variants.
Overall a great half day outing and only $119

Almost forgot the ride in a powerful boat in the lake in Queenstown very good finish.🇦🇺🚌✅

This is a great morning out to get your bearings in and around Queenstown. Our guide Holly was excellent and very informative and led our party to locations where we could see the town, the shotover jetboat, bungy jumping at Kawaru and then a look at Arrowtown. After that, a wine tasting and a ride back to Queenstown on a motorboat.
The tasting was fun, and seeing the adrenalin activity sights is great for the curious, or those deciding whether they might go back and have a turn later.
