Making the long trip to Milford an easy ride
My husband and I had a lovely time from Queenstown to Milford sounds. Our entertaining guide Sinchan was great and gave us interesting facts catered to what our tour group was interested in. We made some cool stops along to the way to get photos and experience the New Zealand sights. It made the 4 hour long trip to Milford fly by a little faster. When we got to Milford Sounds we had a nice lunch and enjoyed the cruise where we got to see some sea lions and of course the lovely waterfalls. We were lucky that day as it poured on the way there but cleared up on the cruise so the waterfalls were really pronounced and left us dry (unless you opted to go under the waterfall) on the cruise and way back. I can't recommend the experience enough!

      Ice and snow !
We were blessed with fine weather, no wind, snow AND ice. We could not do Hooker Valley walk due to ice on the track which made it dangerous without crampons. Sinchan our guide dropped us to Tasman glacier viewpoint. Sinchan provided a wonderful experience through facts and peaceful interludes.

      Milford Sound must have experience!
Had an amazing experience on our trip to Milford Sounds. Our guide Tommy was excellent, he was extremely knowledgeable about the areas we drove through and we stopped off at various stunning locations along the way including the mirror lakes! Thanks Tommy for a great trip :)

      Great tour to Mt. Cook
This is a great organized tour company. Prompt communication prior to our tour date. Our tour guide, Tommy, provided great commentary along the way. Bathroom breaks well planned! The hooker valley track was lovely.

      Best of Queenstown NZ 2024
Driver guide Dan gave us his best. The introduction and safety was right. Luckily we were comfortable in a 7 pax group in a 12 ? seat luxury bus. A good look talk on Queenstown and then down the road to Arrow town quaint with really friendly people. Also watched a bunny jump and a Quick Look at Shot over jet boat river action. The church wine n cheese matching was educational and enjoyable. Will now have to shop for more cheese variants. Overall a great half day outing and only $119 Almost forgot the ride in a powerful boat in the lake in Queenstown very good finish.🇦🇺🚌✅

Mountains, valleys, history and some welcome cafe stops
This is an excellent trip with options to stop off at a salmon fishery/cafe en route as well as hike the Hooker valley track if you are so inclined. Important information is included in the trip notes (of particular relevance if you are hiking up the Hooker Valley). You get to see a number of sights en route including Lake Pukaki (with all of its vibrant blue hues), as well as getting a good view of the mountains as you get closer to Mount Cook (if the cloud is co-operating). A comfortable van makes for an easy ride.

      Great day tour
Trip to Mount Cook and the Hooker Valley walk were great as the day was sunny. The walking trail itself is well maintained and mostly goes through flat terrain, so its a very relaxing walk to the Hooker lake. I did the tour with Sinchan. He was enthusiastic, engaging and kept the whole trip interesting with information about landmarks we passed through and history of the area. He never rushed anyone through the photo stops / bathroom breaks etc and he was also very organised about pick ups and drop offs. Overall he made the experience extra fun.

Mt.Cook Hike and Day Tour from Queenstown
The day to Mt. Cook was perfect as it was sunny when we arrived. Tommy, our driver and tour guide, made the trip enjoyable from start to finish with care and professionalism. Tommy provided us with lots of great information & recommendations throughout our ride to Mt. Cook with history, facts, and personal stories that related to the trip. We made several stops along the way for breaks and pictures opportunities. Tommy was kind enough to offered everyone to take their picture for them and even provided his numbers when we left for the hike in case someone needed to call him. We got to Mt. Cook and weather was perfect. Got to witness the glacier lake and the view was amazing. Definitely recommend the hike if you can. 3 hours is plenty of time for us to get to and back from the hike. The hike took approx. 2 hours in total so plenty of time for you to enjoy at the lake as well. Recommend this tour to anyone looking to enjoy day trip to Queenstown!

So nice not having to drive it yourself!
We really appreciate someone else driving when its going to be such a long day. So this tour was perfect for this. The drive to Mt Cook wasn't to bad, a few stops along the way, which was very much welcomed. Once we got to Mt Cook we were left to our own devices, which was what we expected. We had booked the Glacier Expedition (AMAZING) and had just enough time on arrival to grab a quick lunch. The drive home was less enjoyable. The stops were few and far between, we felt like we just floored it the whole way back and when there was a toilet break on offer you were told to hurry up as much as possible so we could make good time. So it was a little less "fun" on the way home.

      Breathtaking landscapes
This tour is nothing short of exceptional guided by Sincha. His attention to detail, passing for the area, thoughtful selection of music complementing the breathtaking views, and inclusive approach made the journey to Mount Cook unforgettable. It left not only with memories of stunning landscapes but also a profound sense of tranquility and connection to the nature. Thanks Sincha!!!

      Outstanding Gin Tour Queensland NZ
I have spent 3 weeks in NZ and can say this was one of the highlights. Ana was our driver (amazing on the Crown twist & turns!), friendly and fun. We had her first all women tour just by coincidence and we all were friendly and fun folks. I loved all the locations and near Cardona we saw Bradona- a once in a lifetime experience 😊 I bought a bottle of The Source gin at Cardona where we learned from our expert (name starts with an E) on how whisky (not whiskey!), vodka and gin are made. At Broken Heart I bought a bottle made with Quince fruit- a new experience and delicious! If you’d like to explore gin with various botanicals this is the right tour plus a beautiful scenic drive.

      Fantastic Experience. Thanks, Shanay!
If you're going to put stock in any of these reviews, put some in the review from a guy who took three tours with Altitude. Altitude does a truly remarkable job running a seamless operation while still making it super fun and informative. Even though the clouds were out to test me, Mount Cook was still a totally stunning experience. The hiking there was challenging yet rewarding, and I can't wait to try it again on a sunny day. Lastly, my tour guide Shanay was awesome. She had deep knowledge of the local tribal lore and kept us entertained with the tales behind the phenomena around us the whole way there. I would consider myself lucky to do another tour with Altitude before they become too popular.

The entire trip was insta worthy with most of the iconic spots covered in and around Glenorchy and Paradise. Our tour guide Andy is amazing and welcoming. He made us feel really comfortable and knew a lot about the history and the local folklore. The morning tea, especially the ginger crunch, bread rolls with that location in background is priceless. Thankyou Altitude tours

I took the Glenorchy and Paradise Explorer tour with Altitude Tours, along with my wife, and I highly recommend it. It rained heavily the day we were supposed to go, and they offered to move the date, free of cost and with no hassle.

We took the tour 2 days after with Andy, which is a very knowledgeable guide and gave us a lot of facts about the region, as well as handy suggestions about places to visit and things to do. He also showed us many locations from the lord of the rings throughout the tour, while driven in a fairly new, comfortable Mercedes van.

We got plenty of photo stops and a nice picnic next to the river. In fact, we liked the tour so much that we booked the next day's wine tasting tour with the same company. Thank you Andy!

Did this trip at the start of the week with my husband . We were the only two on the tour which was pretty cool and didnt hinder us in anyway we had a great time . Our guide Jamie was super , very bubbly , full of knowledge and more than happy to act as semi pro photographer so we have awesome photo memories . The tour is a mix of LOTR information and filming spots but also can be enjoyed by anyone looking to see past queenstown to glenorchy , paradise. We got heaps of info on the filming of lotr and the spots but also on the surrounding area and history which was really cool . Cant recommend this tour any higher it was really great way to see the area and with loads of little touches of morning tea, little chocys .

We originally booked a tour of Milford Sound but it was cancelled due to bad weather. We chose this option instead, and it was a very good decision! We went to Bennett's Bluff which has an amazing view at the top, Glenorchy which is a quaint little town, and Paradise which has a lot of Lord of The Rings scenes spots. Our tour guide even set up a small picnic table by a stream so we can have some of the coffee, tea, bread and fruits that she prepared. Everything was beautiful.

If you are looking for a quick tour outside the Queenstown city center, choose this. I also recommend booking via Altitude Tours and look for our tour guide/driver Ana -- she's the best!

This tour was the best of the 3 organised tours I have been on since coming to Queenstown. The scenery was stunning, we were lucky with the weather which was beautiful, but I particularly liked that we were a small group and no where we went was crowded. The tea was delicious and a perfect setting to have it in a quiet spot by the river. Alana was great, her love of NZ shone through in her enthusiasm to impart information. She is very knowledgeable and the little gift at the end was such a nice touch. Thank you Alana.

Not having booked the tour myself, I wasn't sure what to expect as I joined last minute to accompany a friend. The weather was perfect, the bus comfortable and the tour guide, Megan, super enthusiastic and friendly. For those trying to pack in numerous activities in a short time, don't be put off by the length of time the tour takes. The scenery is spectacular and the bus stops a number of times for photos, loo breaks, a picnic, an optional LOTR character dress up (I declined - lol!), and a quick stop in Glenorchy. The tour is casual and small, so chatting with fellow visitors is interesting. Would highly recommend and thought it was well worth the time and money.

Our guide was Erik who is nice and very knowledgeable of the different places we went to. Apparently he is also very knowledgeable in local plants. I have learnt a bit about different local plants in New Zealand! Erik also shared his personal story of running away from a potential volcano explosion during his skiing with his family which was exciting and fun.

We went to a number of places including Bennetts Viewpoint, Glenorchy, Paradise, a spot where we can see Remarkables from afar and also two Lord of the Rings spot. We also had tea in one of the Lord of the Rings spot. Food is good.

It’s a small group of 8 people and well paced. I had a relaxing morning and would definitely recommend someone who is travelling solo without a car to join the tour as there is no public transport going to Glenorchy.

    Happy holiday.

Breathtaking views. I enjoyed the scenic sights and Kiwi style morning tea. Our guide Holly is accommodating and friendly. She's an expert in sharing local stories and filming locations. Also, she exerted an effort to contact/meet me after retrieving my sunnies (it fell under the back seat of the van). Informative and fun tour. It was a great experience for me.
