We had an awesome time on our full day canyoning in the Routeburn - our guides, Dan and Oscar, were professional, extremely knowledgable and gave us all the best tips and tricks. The canyon is gorgeous, and the combination of jumps, abseils, zips, slides and climbing was so much fun! Highly recommend Canyon Explorers - that’s for a brilliant trip!

I had the absolute best time canyoneering with Canyon Explorers in New Zealand! From start to finish, this experience was nothing short of amazing. This was a great trip in a beautiful setting. I cannot compare it to the half-day, but the Routeburn valley is stunning and worth the extra time. Safety was a priority, to be sure, but there were still some challenges and stepping out of comfort zones (which is a very good thing!). Simply put, Dawson and Oscar were professionals. I was worried we would be cold, but the gear and the hot drinks helped immensely. My wife absolutely loved this trip. This was our first time doing canyoning (although we have rappelled and done Via Ferrata), so if you are ultra experienced, this may be a bit more of an introduction to the sport. But overall, very well done. A minor criticism: the drive to the valley is excellent, but the van's obscured windows took away from it for about half the guests. It may be wise to get some unobscured windows so the drive (which is not insignificant) feels a bit more enjoyable.

As it was our first time canyoning, we were a bit nervous going in, but our instructive and supportive guides made the experience well worth it. The full day canyoning adventure in Routeburn Valley was truly an experience of a lifetime. The scenery was breathtaking. Our guides, Lorna and Oscar, were spectacular. They had the perfect balance - warm, friendly, instructive, and encouraging. They prioritized safety and made everyone feel comfortable pushing their limits just enough. We appreciated the background about the land and plant life throughout our time together. Lunch and snacks were yummy too! They were thoughtful in accommodating food allergies. [Context: I am an avid hiker, have moderate indoor rock climbing experience, and have cliff jumped in the past … adjacent experiences like this definitely help!] Background: we were only able to go canyoning one day while in town and the date wasn’t available online so we emailed them to ask if it would be possible to open a trip on that day and they responded promptly and opened the trip for us! It’s worth the ask 😊

An amazing trip and first time experience canyoning with the team at Canyon Explorers, my partner and me really enjoyed the day, safe a helpful team, lots of fun zip-lining, abseiling and jumping through the canyons! Would definitely recommend this activity with these guys!!

We had a great time with Canyoning Explorers! We did the half day canyoning option and felt like we got to do a lot within our time. We really enjoyed our guides, Lorna and Dawson. They were super nice, knowledgeable, and fun! We did everything from zip lining, swimming, hiking, jumping and bellyflopping, to abseiling and more. At the end we got nice warm drinks to warm up from the cold water. Would recommend this activity if you like an adventure!

The trip was so much fun! I had never done anything like this before. It was so fun exploring the canyon, wading through the water, jumping, sliding, zip lining and repelling down!

The half day experience was great! Felt like we got a bit of everything Queenstown can offer within one activity- zip lining, abseiling, water activities! The guides were super friendly and knowledgeable on the area and the process of the day. We were given extra layers as it was quite a cold day which kept us completely warm. The canyoning was super exciting with slides and jumps - and a few surprise dunks! Such a good day overall. My only point of feedback as that we got told photos were being taken throughout the day- it was never mentioned we’d have to then buy those photos afterwards if we wanted them. I feel like for the price, you should at least get 1 photo included for download. Thanks for the experience though, it was awesome!

We got to do a bit of everything, but nothing too difficult or extreme. Even the jumps can be skipped if that isn't your thing. I think it would be a great group activity for all fitness levels.

I went on a half-day canyoning trip with two of my friends and we had an incredible time! Our guides were helpful and kind and made us all feel very safe while fostering a great experience! This trip was definitely good for beginners and was a great introduction to canyoning. Highly recommend!

Really amazing experience. Lots of fun. Guides were helpful and clearly very experienced. Only piece of constructive feedback would be around photos. The guides take photos for you but many of them came out blurry. Besides that, 10/10 would recommend for a really fun activity in Queenstown.
