Waste of money
Apr 2021 • Family
Utter waste of money. If you are after a thrill then this is not for you. Total zipping time of aprox 4mins the rest of the time is waiting on the rest of the group and a 30min walk. Staff are awesome but the experience is not ... even at discounted rates. I would NOT RECOMMEND

Kia ora Linda, Once again, thank you for your review. We are always looking at our offerings and how we advertise them and appreciate your honest feedback. As mentioned in the response to your email yesterday, I am very sorry that your experience with us was not a positive one. I can empathise with your frustrations with the timing aspect as your expectations were that you would be ziplining for the full time of 3 hours and that was not the case. Again I am sorry that in this way your expectations were not met affecting your overall experience with us. The educational aspect of the tour, based around sustainability, is integral to the experience we offer and this is part of the scheduled time frame we allow for the tour. It is great that you noted our efforts around sustainability in your original email as this sits deep within the ethos of our business and is usually a positive take away for our guests. It is great, as well, that you noted how awesome your Guides were as our Guides are integral to our experience and have a passion for what they do. The Kea 6 Line Tour which you did does involve a 15-20 minute downhill walk through the forest which we understand can be a challenge for some. In instances where guests express concern we can offer a drive around option which removes most of the walk. I am also sorry that you did not feel the tour was cost effective. As addressed in the email we feel that the pricing sits well within the market and especially for those who avail of our 25% off discount like yourself. Again, we take pride in our experiences and are truly disappointed that we failed to meet expectations here and additionally we apologies we are not able to provide a refund as you had requested in your prior email. Kind regards, The Ziptrek Team

Enjoyable zipline and patient guides
Apr 2021
The Zipline was great fun. My wife was very nervous and Esther was very kind and helpful, we ended up completing everything. Wear some warm clothing and the walk back will be difficult if you were very unfit. We enjoyed and will definitely do this again next time.

It was a fantastic experience. We did this with our two kids aged 7 and 9. We all absolutely loved it. We were a little nervous at first, but the guides put you at ease. They were very experienced and made you feel totally safe. We would definitely do this again.

Super fun!
Really enjoyed our trip. Max was super friendly and highly recommended as a guide for your trip! Super chatty and made you feel confident and comfortable. Only downside was having to pay extra for the gondola to get up and down the mountain with no discounts or anything for doing the zip trek.

Awesome Zipline
Apr 2021
Did the number 6 zipline with 15 year old. The Tiki TrIl to the zipline was a struggle, as I honestly did not realise how steep or unstable it would be.
We found the staff very friendly and the zipline was definitely worth the walk to it .

Kia ora Caren E, Thanks so much for leaving a review! Awesome work on taking the Tiki Trail to reach our treehouse! We always say to allow 1-1.5 hours just so you can take your time and enjoy the views while you have a quick break. Great to hear you found the staff to be friendly and the experience was worth the walk up, it certainly is steep in parts! Thanks again, The Ziptrek Team

Fun Zipline But Must Be Able-Bodied
Apr 2021
While I enjoyed the experience, it was not as professional an organisation as I have experienced elsewhere in NZ and the views were not as spectacular as I had expected (due to the trees). It should be noted that you need to be fairly able bodied to be able to do this adventure, not due to the zipline itself, but due to the "20 minute" walk at the end. This walk is over very rough and uneven terrain downhill and even in dry conditions it was not an easy walk. In our group there was someone slightly unsteady on their feet and neither guide provided assistance, relying on another (unconnected) member of the group to provide the support and physical assistance down the path. You also need to dress warmly as there is a lot of waiting around if the group is on the large size.

Kia ora Debra, Thank you for taking the time to leave us with your valuable feedback. I am glad to hear you enjoyed your experience with us recently. However I am sorry to hear you did find it didn't quite meet your expectations. Our guides do their best to make the details of the walk clear when mentioning it as part of the tour introduction so that everyone is aware. We can then offer vehicle assistance to avoid the walk for any guests who express concern at this point. (We have many elderly guests and also guest with mobility issues who opt for this) Poles are also offered prior to the walk to all guests, and in this instance one guest was offered both poles and vehicle assistance as the guides had noticed they were struggling a little. The guest declined both the poles and the vehicle assistance and so the guides continued onto the trail. When discussing this with our Guides they explained that they offered assistance during the walk also on noticing a guest was being helped by another friendly group member but again they said they were fine. We have provided the feedback to our Guides that at this point they could have insisted on offering support rather than continuing as is. Thank you for the feedback so we could pass this onto our guides. Great tip to other readers to dress warm, it certainly does get chilly up in the trees! We have some information boards with lots of information to read while you wait but this is certainly more enjoyable when your warm! Thank you again for taking the time to leave a review. Many thanks, The Ziptrek Team

Flying through the trees
Mar 2021
We did a nice and early zip-line tour and we were not disappointed with the views and thrills that we got from the experience. The two tour guides did an awesome job with both the zip-lines and keeping each one fresh as well as the educational side with helping with conservation. Cant wait to go again.

Mar 2021 • Friends
We came all the way from Wellington to experience the Ziptrek zipline because we had looked at the reviews and were impressed. We wanted to do an easy course as we had never done ziplining before.
Although the weather was very cold on the day we all had the best time and it was super fun.
It was definitely the highlight of our trip.
Our guides were very cool and they made us laugh alot.
It was awesome learning about the sustainability efforts.
The views were spectacular.
100% will be doing it again and recommending to everyone.
Thanks to all involved!

Zip line Queenstown
Mar 2021 • Couples
Absolutely stunning views and amazing rides. Guides were excellent. A task every zipping which tested you mentally. If you're a walker i would suggest walking up the track rather than take the gondola. The gondola was $44 which is really expensive. Make sure you allow time yo get ti your zip line because the ques at the bottom can take a while. Allow plenty of time and check gondola opening times.

Kia ora Mike O, We're so glad to hear that you had an amazing time on tour with our excellent Guides and found the views to be stunning. Those optional tricks are a great way to add some extra excitement to the experience! The steep hike up the Tiki trail really is a beautiful way to make it up the hill to our treehouse. The gondola also offers stunning views, and you're absolutely right about the queues at the bottom, this is why we recommend allowing at least 40 minutes for the gondola during quiet times and more for when it's a bit busier. Thank you so much for taking the time to leave us a great review and the valuable tips for our guests! The Ziptrek Team

Awesome time!
Feb 2021
Awesome time Ziplining with Obe and Juan on Feb 24th, 2021. The guys were super friendly, made us feel welcomed, and helped calm some nerves. Their knowledge of the Queenstown area, and their passion for the conservation of the area through their efforts in planting trees was great to see. Great tour and will happily come back down and do it again.

Kia ora HitandSunita, Great to hear you had an awesome experience on tour with us recently, and that you're keen to come back for more! Juan and Obe love guest interaction and getting to give their best insights into this awesome town. As well as chatting about it's flora and fauna and how we can help preserve it. We're so pleased to hear that you enjoyed having them as your guides and that they helped you feel at ease up in the trees! Thank you so much for taking the time to leave us your great feedback!
