Overview
Fly upside down or soar like Superman on a zipline ride from the notorious Kawarau Bridge. The Kawarau Zipride lets you ride solo or in tandem with up to six friends across parallel cables suspended over the scenic Kawarau River. Select a single ride or choose a 3- or 5-ride pack for the optimal adrenaline rush, with round-trip transport from Queenstown.
What to Expect
On the Kawarau Zipride you’ll reach speeds of up to 37 mph (60 kph) as you zipline over the Kawarau River by way of a 426-foot-long (130-meter) cable. Tours depart every 40 minutes with convenient round-trip transport from central Queenstown to the Gibbston Valley, located just 25 minutes away.

On arrival at the Kawarau Bridge — famous for the world’s first commercial bungy jump — you’ll  receive a safety briefing before ziplining across the river. You have multiple choices: book a single ride or upgrade to three or five zipline packages. Go solo or share the experience alongside family and friends in tandem next to you.

You can ride forward in a comfortable seated position; flip upside down like Batman or fly like Superman in a lying-down position; or enjoy the thrill of zipping backward as you soak up the views of Kawarau Gorge.

JUST DO IT

We came here originally to see the bungy jump and it was a great place to visit. After hanging around for an hour or so, both me and my 11 year old girl decided to do this zipline together. I had to declare my medical...More

For those who want a less adrenaline pumping experience but still challenge your fear this is for you.

The staff were fantastic and inspired confidence in someone who doesn't like speed or heights. I felt perfectly safe throughout the whole experience. Great ride.

The wait is worth it

I was terrified the entire time I was there. I am petrified of heights and have a fear that I'm going to die in water. There was no way I was bungee jumping. Couldn't even look at other's doing it without getting that tingling feeling...More

Good for kids

Did the zipline with my daughter who was probably too young to take on the bungee. It's obviously underwhelming if you compare it to a bungee jump but it's not bad if you want your kids to experience something while you're there. It's also priced...More
