Unforgettable
Mar 2021
Unforgettable experience surrounded by unique fauna, waterfalls and looming caves.

Things to note:
Allow 4-5 hours each way from Queenstown if you are driving.
No eftpos on board.
Bring your own lunch as 4-5hours will leave you wanting much more than the on board snacks.
Parking close to the terminal costs $, the free option is 25 minutes walk away.

Things I liked
The operators, the crew on board were all really friendly and knowledgeable.
The cruise captain, took us right to the biggest waterfall and we were soaked in it!
So def bring a change of clothes, or rainproof everything.

Things I didn't like
The long drive their, so perhaps staying over somewhere locally is a better choice or taking the coach option.

pleasant milford cruise
Jan 2021
we were lucky that we were the only cruise on the sound at the time. we did the 9am cruise so getting parking at the free parking carpark was a breeze. the weather was fine as well, and the wind was low, so it was a pleasant cruise.

saw lots of seals, but no dolphins

Just wow!
Jan 2021 • Family
Our wows started on the drive into Milford but increased from the moment our Go Orange cruise set off in the majestic Milford Sound. The boat was large and had comfortable sitting areas inside but we preferred to be out the front of the boat taking it all in. The captain gave good commentary about the sounds and geological events that have shaped them. He also took us up close to the preferred seal resting spot and right under the waterfall, which was lots of fun.

Must Visit
Jan 2021
Just stunning scenery! Booked through Go Orange and boarded the Mariner boat. Plenty of outdoor space to take footage out on the 2 decks and comfortable seating inside. Options to purchase food at the small bar/cafe with reasonable prices (eg $5 cake). Good commentary giving a history of each area passed. Favourite part was getting up close and personal with the waterfall - prepare to be drenched if this is your thing! Can otherwise stay cosy and warm inside. We were lucky enough to have had good rainfall the day prior (and during) felt like the waterfalls were singing to us :) Just magical!

Great day out

Great day out, you won’t be disappointed
These guys are total pros at what they do. This a slick operation on a very comfortable boat. The lunch was generous, tasty and well cooked. A good value for a tourist/scenic experience in Southland.

Spectacular
It would be fair to say we were incredibly lucky on the day we sailed. The weather was picture perfect. Beautiful sunshine. And next to no wind. We saw dolphins and a seal. The dolphins put on an amazing performance for us. So blessed and lucky to have been out on such a wonderful (non typical) winter’s afternoon.

Milford Sound
Jan 2020
Our family thoroughly enjoyed this scenic and entertaining cruise of Milford Sound. We toured with our adult daughter, who chose this location as the main destination she wanted to see in NZ. It did not disappoint. We had some laughs which is always important. The waterfalls were gorgeous. We live in the Rockies in Canada so nothing compares but we felt it was good value.

Excellent service and amazing food!
From the moment we walked into the shop to book our trip to when we were dropped off by the coach we had an A* experience!

The whole thing is very well organised which is great for those that simply just want to enjoy the experience and not have to worry about driving etc

I loved that the coach made lots of stops to some of the key places like mirror lakes, and also the wifi onboard was appreciated.

Me and my husband both had to note though the highlight of the trip was the insane food on the boat! It was honestly some of the best we've eaten in NZ and so reasonable too! We had the tofu roti and fish burger and it was inspired! The nori In the burger and paprika aioli! Wow! Anyways thanks so much we had an amazing day!

Excellent, budget friendly service!
Excellent, budget friendly service!
Got this activity at a discount on BookMe. The bus was prompt to pick up everyone and our driver talked just the right amount - let us snooze for a bit as it was a 6:40am start.
It’s a long day, you don’t return to queenstown till 7pm.
But so worth it! Beautiful scenery.
Also to note, similar to the last review, tea and coffee is not free unlike what was noted in the booking.
Loved that the bus and the boat wasn’t crammed with people. Commentary was loud enough and had enough information.

Sounds like you had a great time, if you could please let us know via email where 'free tea and coffee' was noted in your booking this would be much appreciated as we do not offer this due to our amazing on board cafe :) info@goorange.co.nz Thanks again

Beautiful scenic cruise through Milford Sound
Dec 2019 • Family
What an experience!! My family and I booked a scenic cruise through Milford Sound, the Fiord itself is absolutely breathtaking as you can imagine but Go Orange definitely added the extra touch, taking us under waterfalls! We got to see Dusky Dolphins and Sea Lions too!
Awesome, I would 100% recommend
