Thank you, Kevin for your 5 star review. The Theomin family gave so to the community when they were alive and as you saw their legacy lives on.

I would highly recommend taking the guided tour, as I did on Monday, February 21, 2022! The tour guide and Jan Davies offered extremely lively and fact-filled commentary of the house and gardens--their love of this place is contagious. They were happy to answer my many questions without appearing exasperated. Most importantly, to me; I was allowed to take photos to my heart's content, both inside and outside, in the garden. Jan even went out of her way to personally guide me to the key vantage points, and, afterwards, she most graciously emailed me a few photos I had missed. Be sure to bring extra memory cards and fully charged, spare batteries for several hours of stunning photo opportunities. The still-like opportunities are endless, the colors are glorious, the eye-candy is phenomenal! So thrilled to have visited! Just outstanding in every way!

The story about the work the Theomins did.. they were wealthy and yet Mrs Theomin played a significant part in establishing Plunket, which for the next 100 years played a huge part in providing support and education to New Zealand families. The place settings in the dining table names others involved in setting up the service.
Thank you, Kevin ( our guide yesterday) for taking time to show us not just the material wealth of the family.
