      Nice day
We had a great day. Met some nice people. The plated lunch was good. Other food later should have been served. Something simple would be fine. The seating was crowded but no waiting and the dividing up of the group could have been done better.

Moa Tours . Southern Odyssey: Stewart Island & The Catlins
Such a great trip with Moa Tours , made better by the fabulous tour guide Anh . Kiwi spotting at Stewart Island , Royal Albatross viewing at Kaka Point and seeing smaller albatross flying about the boat as we made our way from Stewart to Ulva Island. The Catlins is just so beautiful. And being silly and hopping in a replica of Burt Monroe’s “ fastest Indian “ . So much and a glimpse of where I want to return to .

      Akaroa - Tres Magnifique
Our driver Tanya (with a "Y") was a hoot - very much the character, and quite a knowledgeable guide. The boat and crew for the cruise were outstanding and you're in good and safe hands should you sail with them. One of the patrons had a medical episode and the crew put into play their training and dealt with the matter efficiently and carefully. Akaroa and its harbour are a must see for anyone visiting the South Island.

Great tour to stay ahead of the crowds at Christchurch.
The meetup was easy. We had Scotty who knew lots of interesting information about Lytlleton & Christchurch. The morning was touring Christchurch with plenty of recommendations for lunch. The Antarctic Center was a must visit. We had another guide for that tour. DH had a great time on the Antartic rover (hagglund). This was a great tour with no problem getting back to the cruise ship on time.

      Wine trail review
A delightful choice of boutique wineries. We had a superb tour guide who went out of her way to ensure our comfort. She was very knowledgeable about the area

      Entertaining and informative.
Interesting trip. In the company of some hard core fans of the Lord of the Rings movies. Their passion was captivating but could not match it. Driver and guide was very entertaining and learned a lot from him about the trilogy of movies.

      Some good some bad
We did the Christchurch city and Antarctic Centre tour.First the bad— the bus broke down after only a few minutes and the driver worked valiantly for 45 minutes to fix problem but we sitting in a very stuffy bus all that time. The bus broke down again on the way home and this time it could not be fixed.Driver again fantastic and arranged for a ship shuttle to get us back. My point is I know things happen but it is the responsibility of Leisure tours to provide a safe and reliable vehicle. They did not do that, clearly it was a maintenance problem , radiator hoses disintegrated. On the plus side, driver ,under stress did a fantastic job giving great commentary. Antarctic Centre is not to be missed.

Not enough time to see the International Antarctic Center
Today was a bit problematic. I would not recommend this tour. Some of it was Leisure Tours and some was the International Antarctic Center. We were asked to arrive at 10:15am to leave at 10:30am. At 10:45am we were still waiting for people who never arrived. So the 90 minute drive to Christchurch was fast and furious. No time for the Botanical Gardens. It was never even mentioned. Arriving in Christchurch we split into 3 groups and with a quick talk through town arrived at the International Antarctic center (IAC). First thing the IAC tells us the Hagglund ride is not included even though it is stated in the description. Finally they give in after an argument. Now we are on a race to see as much of the center as we can in 90 minutes since that is all the time we have in order to get back to Akaroa in time for our departure. We didn’t get to have the penguin experience, didn’t see the huskey presentation and despite standing in line for 30 minutes of our previous time we got turned away from the Hagglund the 2nd time and could not wait any longer we had to go. In summary the drive is too long to have enough time to see the attraction and the attraction was way overbooked today. Find something closer to the port. There was some discussion of partial refund from the IAC but I’m not holding my breath

Boat cancelled 1/2 hour before departure. Flight substitute offered totally underwhelming as far as Whale Watching conc
We were told 1/2 hr before due to depart in catamaran that it had been cancelled. We were offered a flight to Wales instead. As it had been a 2 1/2 hour drive from Christchurch, and we asked if you got a clear view of the Wales which was sad as yes. We decided to go for the flight. Sadly it was a very underwhelming trip. Although sightings of a couple of sperm whales and a blue whale, we could not see that you really could only see the shape of the whales and we even missed a couple by the time the plane had circled around. Although it was a nice flight on a small aircraft, if you have done this before, there was really nothing special about it. I would go for a full refund which was offered, and go another day if you are able. On the positive side, our driver here was a wonderful Spanish lady called Carmen , was absolutely brilliant. Her knowledge was amazing, she was very personable and made every effort To make a trip as enjoyable as possible. There were four people that went on the flight and we were extremely disappointed. I appreciate that there is no guarantee of the Wales, however, flying in a small aircraft which obviously has limitations to help closely, I thought was a wasted trip journey journey

      Scotty made this tour
The best tour we did in NZ! Scotty, our guide, was super knowledgeable and informative about everything he spoke about, including all the geology (even explaining liquefaction!). The Mona Vale gardens were nice, and Scotty expertly handled the small narrow roads around Lyttelton. A great way to spend a couple of hours seeing the highlights of the Christchurch area. An option was to leave the tour at Cathedral Square (the final point) and make your own way back to the cruise ship via the cruise shuttle, which many took up so they could spend more time in the city.

      Well worth the time
We had a great time on this tour led by Tania. The journey out to the wine area took about 45 minutes and Tania gave us a good history of the area. We had a very nice tasting of about 6 wines before a cold lunch of pates, cheeses, salami and crackers which was tasty and helped absorb the alcohol. We visited 2 further wineries and drank a lot more wine, most of which was extremely pleasant. Had we not been travelling and thus limited on luggage space, I'm certain we would have purchased some of the products. The whole afternoon was enhanced by a lively group of people from the UK, US, Australia and South Korea

      Scenic visit from Christchurch
We booked this day trip as a quick turnaround after our Adventure Park zip line tour was suddenly canceled (due to wild fires), so didn’t have much time to research. Our driver, Andrew, picked us up directly from our hotel in an air conditioned small bus. Had a total of 10 passengers, and Andrew provided commentary with a headset/microphone for the passengers. We quickly squirted up the mountainside, and at first we thought we were missing out on some photo ops, as he seemed determined to stick to a schedule, but ultimately we had other opportunities to get some great shots. We made it up to Akaroa, which is quite the scenic little town, and we had lunch arranged at a place called Bully Hayes—good food generally. Then we had an afternoon cruised arranged on Black Cat dolphin watching tours for about 2.5 hours in the afternoon. The weather was quite nice (for the area), with blue skies, temps in the mid-20’s, and we definitely saw some Hector’s dolphins, a variety of seabirds, some fur seals, and someone (not us) spotted a white flippered penguin. The boat slipped outside the bay into the ocean, and the captain took us to some volcanic points of interest, since the Akaroa area is essentially a volcanic caldera. After the tour, Andrew gathered us up and got us back down to Christchurch, stopping at Barry Bay’s cheese shop for a quick sampling. The cheese shop has a number of different items for sale, including some wine and other snacks. Everyone—something we’ve noticed—was very nice compared to visiting locations in the USA. There’s a general warmth here (and Australia) that evades service industry people in the states. Overall—a nice trip, good people, good food, great photo ops.

      Great time at Dunedin
Warren from Leisure Tours was awesome! The sightseeing was great because Nathan knows the area well. He took us to world’s steepest street, lookout points, beach front, city centre, Lamarch castle, Chinese Garden. We had lunch in the city and Nathan gave us plenty of time to enjoy the spots and take photos.

Disappointing Shore Excursion Akaroa NZ Tour
After minimal sightseeing and two rushed 5 minute stops for pictures, driver wanted to drop group off at Giant’s House and leave. Told people to walk back to ship and then finally agreed to return in an hour. Tour was nowhere near 2.5 hours. Save your money and walk or cab to the Giant’s house on your own.
