Heavy rain but apart from that very enjoyable trip.if it wasn't for the rain it would be a 5.great experience at the farm watching a working sheepdog and sheep shearing

          Wonderful tour
Great tour with numerous stops. Guide/ driver was extremely knowledgeable. Bus/van seats extremely uncomfortable and cramped. Loved the wildlife tour. Back in time for ship departure.

Excellent shore excursion with a fabulous guide
Packed a lot into our day, and even though the weather was overcast we enjoyed a lot of sights. Scotty the guide was brilliant. So knowledgeable with lots of information about the city. The information about the earthquake and city centre rebuild and the red zone areas was particularly insightful. The antarctic centre after lunch was a highlight and it was great to have 2 hours there as less would have felt too rushed. You could always have more time at a lot of places but as a shore trip from a cruise time is limited and I feel we got a good taste of the city. We took in a vewpoint, a lovely garden area, drove through a lot of areas with good sightseeing from the bus, and had almost 2 hours of free time in the city for lunch and exploring. Tour was very punctual and we were back with plenty (but not too much) time to get back on the boat. It was an excellent way to spend our day. If you get a chance to take a tour with Scotty do it!

Excellent full day tour to Arthur’s Pass!
I can’t say enough positive things about our tour! Carmen our guide and driver was excellent! The views from the train ride were amazing! Our short hikes were exactly the right length and difficulty for the group. The stop at Castle Hill was extraordinary! The sheep farm was a delightful experience! I highly recommend this tour! Thank you Leisure Tours and Carmen for an excellent day!

          Lots of fun all around
The whole experience was so much fun. The scenery was so beautiful and the wines were really good, even wines I don’t typically like. It helped that we had a really fun group as well. Highly recommend if you like wine and good views!

You just have to do this
Wow just wow. Stephanie our driver was wonderful and full of knowledge. Small group of 12 which was just right. The day was 830 to 530 but time just flew by. The lunch was lovely and the boat trip to see the dolphins, penguins and seals was magical. We had the best time. Everything was perfect. Even had a little nap on the way back as we were all so relaxed

          Amazing day
Stephanie was a lovely host, we had such a great day. As the weather was a bit cloudy she decided we would do the tour in reverse order so thankful she did. So we started our day by going out to Akaroa via the cheese factory, she was knowledgeable providing commentary along the way. We then had an explore through Akaroa and had lunch. We elected to not included lunch and just got some fish and chips from the takeaway. Then we did the two hour nature cruise. Finally we got lovely views from the lookout back over Christchurch.

Solid option to see much NZ beauty in a single day.
Tour was amazing! This was our first activity in NZ vacation, and it did not disappoint. If you're looking to see the majesty of NZ South Island landscape then this is a solid choice. I did drop one star because of the narrow seating in the mini-bus that was used to transport us home. If you're a small person then it's not likely to be a problem, but for larger folk you will quickly discover that the seat belt receptacles jam into your hip when sitting, and they can't be moved (at all). Kind of uncomfortable for a 3.5 hour ride.

Great 1/2 Day Experience in Christchurch
Visited 3 great wineries, plenty of tasting’s at each and an enjoyable lunch at the first winery. Would highly recommend this tour while visiting Christchurch.

          Great! But couldn’t hear…
I enjoyed the cruise and the lunch but I have to say on our journey there, I could barely hear our tour guide/driver. I could hear him at first, when he asked if we could hear him but then a couple of minutes later, I could no longer hear him properly. I don’t know if it was his mic or if he just got quieter as he talked but it was a shame. That’s the reason I didn’t give it a five.

Nice excursion; you'll appreciate a driver navigating the winding roads!
The day started with an on-time pick up from my hotel in Christchurch. Our driver/guide ("steerologist/interrupter") Tania immediately made me feel welcome and like I was in good hands. The scenic drive to Akaroa was absolutely beautiful but I appreciated that someone who was familiar with the long and winding roads was driving and not me. Of course Akaroa and surrounding areas are the highlight of this tour, but I think Tania was instrumental in making the day enjoyable, relaxed and safe. We got a glimpse of Kiwi life and culture with her anecdotes, jokes, and stories. She really was warm and welcoming and obviously proud of her country (and rightly so). I got the package that included a lunch at Bully Hayes. There was a preset menu for those on the tour, but the selections all sounded delicious (I enjoyed my grilled salmon). Tania walked us to and from the restaurant and the nature harbor cruise. She even gave us a tip of the best place to sit on the boat (great advice, which I've followed on other boat cruises since!) and gave us enough time to enjoy ice cream after the cruise. We stopped at scenic points to take pictures that weren't crowded with other tourists but were also safe places to stop. The nature cruise was amazing! We saw fur seals and the elusive Hector dolphins, the smallest dolphin breed in the world. The boat had a lot of people on it but it didn't feel crowded to the point that you couldn't move around to see different parts of the bay. The only slightly disappointing bit was the Barrys Bay Cheese Factory. Perhaps I read too much into the description from Leisure Tours that "a stop will be made at the Barry’s Bay Cheese factory, where you will get to sample some fine New Zealand cheese" because that was literally all it was -- we stopped by the store where they had cheese slice samples on the counter and we got toothpicks to try them. The cheeses were delicious, the shop was cute and quaint (I did buy a few things to snack on), the shop clerk was friendly, but it really wasn't more than that. Looking back, I don't think Leisure Tours was necessarily misleading in their description, but I think I had different expectations. (I was hoping/expecting that the cheese samples would at least include a short intro or description of the cheeses that were being sampled that day.) Overall, I still give this full day excursion into Akaroa 5 stars! And if Tania happens to be your guide, then that's a real winner. Thanks Leisure Tours and Tania (with an "I")!

          A wonderful experience
Had a wonderful day touring some of the wineries that Christchurch had to offer. Met some lovely people and our driver Tania was lovely and friendly and very knowledgeable about where we were going. Highly recommend 5 stars

          Great Afternoon Out
We had a great afternoon visiting 3 wine vineyards with Tania our driver, who was very knowledgeable of the area. The lunch was perfect too. We had an enjoyable time, with the small group we were traveling with in the van as well. Thank you.

We loved the thermal pools. There re lots to choose from. The sulphur pools are nice and quite hot. The mineral pools are lovely. The best for us was the jet pools....lots of jets gives you a nice massage. There are three of them, and the middle now had a central area with super jets....you had to hang on to the bar so you don't shoot away! Heavenly! We did not do the family pool or the water slide.

If you love water, you will love this. A great range of water options including private pools and therapeutic pools. Wonderful location, great staff, thermal spring water which is not too sulphurous. Must do if you are in the area. All ages and ranges.

Thanks for the awesome review. It's great to hear you had such a nice time on your Hanmer Springs Day Tour. The thermal pools in Hanmer have a lot to offer its visitors, including therapeutic pools, communal pools, hydroslides, lazy river, spa and massage options, etc. As you said, it's a must do for water babies and anyone in the area. And the staff at Hanmer Springs do a fantastic job with maintaining the pools and keeping their customers happy, so it's nice to see them appreciated. Thanks again for the review and I hope you get to visit NZ again soon.

What a great place to visit, quite an unexpected pleasure to go swimming in such a cold place. Highly recommend the private pools and look for vouchers in the local free tourist magazines, we managed to get a free upgrade to the private pools which saved us some money. I only wish we had stayed longer and planned an overnight visit so we could have seen more of the town around the springs. Well worth the drive from Christchurch even if it is for just a day.

Our Hammer Springs Day Tour started with a trip to a sheep farm for a very brief tour and a sheep shearing demonstration. We then moved on to Thrillseekers Canyon for an exciting jet boat ride. After the jet boating we had lunch at the Garden House Cafe at the Hanmer Springs Thermal Reserve and spent the rest of the afternoon relaxing in the Hanmer Springs Thermal Resort Pools. On the journey back to Christchurch we made a brief stop at a North Canterbury Winery for wine tasting. Overall the trip was fine, we enjoyed the driver and the other guests on the tour. We did note that our arrival appeared to be a shock to each of the places we visited other than the sheep farm, I suspect that the tour company did not inform the Thermal Reserve or the winery that we would be stopping by. Our lunch was supposed to be ready for us when we arrived at the Garden House Cafe but due to a mixup we had to re-order when we got there and lost an hour that we could have spent in the pools or walking around the adorable town. Overall, the trip was fine but better planning would have been helpful.
