      Great day in Marlborough
It was an amazing day of riding through the vineyards! Graeme was a great guide, very relaxed and informative. They retrieved our purchased wine at end of day so we didn’t have to carry in our baskets. The winery personnel was so welcoming and informative giving us a history lesson as well as the description of their processes. Could. To have been a better day! Have lunch at St. Clair’s!

      Pleasant cycling & informative tour
Thanks April for an informative and fun cycle tour. There were 6 of us on the morning tour. We visited 3 wineries with many wine tastings. We enjoyed cycling through the countryside.

The perfect way to explore Marlborough wines
Cycling around Marlborough is definitely the way to explore the wineries in the region. The service provided by Explore Marlborough Wine Tours is excellent, we had a pick up from our hotel from our lovely guide James. We were taken to 3 wineries during the course of our morning, where we enjoyed a variety of exceptional wines and excellent scenery on the way. The bikes were comfortable, easy to ride and in very good condition. We felt safe at all times and even when it unexpectedly poured with rain in the afternoon, the office gave us some ponchos to keep us (sort of) dry as we continued to our lunch stop (recommended by EMWT) and final winery. A brilliant day.

      Really good tour!
Bob, our tour driver, was GREAT!!! He knew his wines, chose the route and provided us with a fun and interesting commentary on the region. He chose some delightful wineries…with lovely wines which were a surprise to folks who live in very rural areas of the states with little access to some of the different very nice Marlborough wines. Thanks, Bob. We all appreciate your sharing your time, talents, and knowledge of the region…and your great sense of humour! Let the season begin!

Wine not, do cycling wine tour, great experience would highly recommend!
Loved every moment, smooth pic up from oir acommodation and our guide Roo was fantastic, we really enjoyed his company and he was very knowledgeable. Did 3 guided stops, gorgeous wine and met great ladies at each winery who educated us on the vineyard story and wine and made us feel very welcome, comfortable and relaxed. Laid back atmosphere in each vineyeard. Then we had about 3 hours self guided tour and Roo gave us some great tips and a map so we felt very comfortable doing the second half of the day on our own. Couldn't fault it, would recommend as a must do when visiting south island and would tell everyone to do it with Explore Marlborough wine tours!

We were very disappointed to miss the port and this tour due to bad weather at Picton. The tour operator was understanding and provided a refund given the circumstances. Thank you.

No full eefund if your cruise ship can’t dock
Our boat didn’t dock at Picton due to weather. That morning at breakfast we read on their website , that there would be a full refund minus credit card fees if boats don’t dock. We contacted them later via email and were told then that we would only get back a partial refund.‘as we didn’t give 24 hours notice… we would suggest you don’t use this company for this tour

Great Wine and Food in Marlborough
We had an excellent day touring the Marlborough wine region. Unfortunately, we neglected to get our guide's name, but she was excellent. She offered us lots of information about wine growing in Marlborough and the specific wineries we visited. We especially enjoyed lunch at Allen Scott, one of our favorite wines back home.

      Highly recommend this tour!
What a pleasant day exploring with Graeme. It was a fun day, small group. The platter of nibbles served at Huia helped soak up some wine and kept us on track. There was a delay getting lunch due to venue demand but we all got fed. Thoroughly enjoyed the company and our guide was the best.

Had a fabulous day exploring the wines of Marlborough by bike .. We were well looked after by our guide and by staff at each of the cellar doors. Cycling along quite roads and tracks between the vineyards is a great way to soak up the atmosphere of Marlborough

Excellent day out, would highly recommend - the staff were very friendly and helpful. They provided good info at the start of the day including recommendations and letting us know if any wineries were closed (COVID). The bikes were great (electric) and we felt very safe getting around. There was plenty of storage for wine and stuff on the bikes. The best part was that if you buy wine, the Explore Team are able to pick it up for you so you don’t need to lug is around the entire day.

The wineries were relatively close together, all up we cycled about 20km over the entire day, visiting six wineries. It was very easy on the electric bikes - even when it got a bit windy at the end of the day heading back. Places get busy so I would recommend deciding where you want to go for lunch and booking that in advance.

The website said bike hire for full day was 930 - 230, but we actually didn’t need to be back until 5pm.

The perfect day out. The wonderful host was friendly & helpful, provided all the info we needed to navigate our own tour, even picked us up & took us back to our accommodation. The ‘full day’ went very quickly, u could not visit all the wineries in a day, but we gave it a good crack & we were very satisfied with our achievement. All establishments we visited were lovely - customer service & product wise. Fresh air, easy bike ride, coffee, wine, gin & a scrumptious lunch - what more could you want! And at a very affordable price. So glad we did it, even though the weather prediction was cloudy, a bit of wind & slight chance of rain - u r never far between stops, so don’t let the weather stop u

We were a last-minute booking for the 1:30 3-hour self-guided bike tour which we sent through at 12:45. Being a family of 6, we needed 2 adult bikes, 2 kid bikes, 1 attached buggy and 1 tag along. We arrived about 10 minutes early and an extremely nice gentleman arrived at the same time. Got us all ready and was incredibly friendly throughout the whole time. The equipment was clean and nice. Needless to say, we (and more importantly the kids) had a fantastic time. Just a wonderful experience in a beautiful area with a classic bike ride to wear the little ones out. We would all highly recommend this group and we thank them for being able to make this happen with such short notice, and the whole time with a smile!

    BE PREPARED TO WAIT

Yes there are bikes. Yes it serves a purpose. But be prepared to wait. We arrived on time but it’s a shuttle bus and so you end up waiting 20-30 minutes in the morning for people who are late, have forgotten things, are generally unorganised. When you return your bike at 5.30pm, don’t bother being on time. You’ll have to wait 37minutes for the shuttle bus to come back. So yes, it’s an option so you don’t have to drive but given our time again we’d book taxis.

Kia ora, Thanks for taking the time to provide your feedback about your bike hire. We sincerely apologise for the delays you experienced. Yesterday was an anomaly as we were short staffed due to a health emergency. We are a small family owned and operated business. The service you received was unacceptable and we will do everything we can to prevent it from occurring to others. Thanks again and we hope you enjoy the rest of your time in Aotearoa.

We had a lovely day on our self guided wine tour however the company was 45 minutes late picking us up in the morning (after I called them twice), meaning we didn’t get started until 11.30am which wasn’t ideal for a full day tour as all the wineries close at 4-4.30pm. They were also 30 mins late in the evening taking us back to our accommodation. We were offered $15 vouchers for their gin/whisky facilities but they didn’t cover the full cost of a drink so we ended up spending more money there. The staff however were lovely and bikes worked great.

Thanks so much for taking the time to provide your feedback. We're really pleased you found the staff lovely and the bikes great. We're so sorry for the delays you experienced. That is not acceptable, and we can only apologise. Unfortunately we were short staffed on that day due to a health emergency. This was a one off event. We are a small family owned business that strive to provide an amazing experience for our guests. It upsets us that you did not receive this. The vouchers you were given at the start of the day, were enough to receive a free wine tasting at Whitehaven wines; coffees at the Cafe or you could choose to pay extra at The Gin Shack or Cheese and Cheese.

Had a Great day visiting wineries in the Marlborough area. Picked up at our motel and taken to the start to be briefed and given bikes. They offer different sizes to suit all and adjust to fit, and also kiddie carts and E Bikes at extra cost (Book in advance) for the very young. Helmet and locks provided and the bikes have basket or panniers to put any purchases. the staff were informative regarding who offers what and best places for food. The tastings cost between $5-10 pp for a selection of upto 5 different wines. If a keen cyclist you can cover a good distance and visit further afield wineries but there are many close by for those less fit. A great day out tasting lovely wines.

We are 24/25 year olds from NZ who wanted to taste some local wine and see some more of the area. With a sunny day forecast we chose to hire bikes to see the area at a slower pace. We chose e-bikes because of the windy day and wanting the experience without the exercise. We were picked up from our accomodation that was 15min out of Blenheim at 9:30am. We were issued our near new ($4k) Bosch Avanti ebikes (that were amazing). Visited 5 vineyards and one gin distillery throughout the day and got dropped to our accomodation at 5pm. We covered 33km. We recommend prioritising the family run and smaller vineyards in this COVID-19 world to support them. Our favourite stop was Bladen. Also recommend Wairau. Beautiful day.

Absolutely fantastic day! We were picked up at the hotel right on time. About a 15 min drive to the bikes which were in excellent condition and very comfortable (they even have a basket). Given helmets, locks and and safety vests. Was also given great suggestions of wineries and easy cycling routes. Riding the bikes was so much more fun than being in a van. We bought wine at a few vineyards - we texted the team and they collected the wine for us so we didn't have to worry about riding around with bottles. Overall, it was a fantastic day. I highly recommend this tour!
