          Worth it!
We had a private full day tour with Tom and had a blast! He was very knowledgeable, enjoyable, and went above and beyond what we expected of our tour! We definitely would recommend Tom and his touring company to everyone!

A great way to see the area with fabulous wine tastings
Although this is listed as "solo", we are a married couple traveling together. This is a private tour which picked us up and dropped us at our hotel. We had a great tour. Bryce, our guide, was very knowledgeable about the area, stopping at places of interest on the way to Martinborough and sharing personal anecdotes from his life in the area. The wineries we visited were all top notch, and it was a pleasure spending the day with Bryce. Tom, who owns the tour company went out of his way to meet us as we were leaving town on the ferry, and thanked us with a nice gift. Highly recommended.

Our outstanding guide, Tom, excelled in sharing his knowledge and artisan friendships through majestic summer scenery.. learning wine secrets, tasting superb cheeses, dunking more olive oil flavors than we knew, spotting the Queen and witnessing the births of her worker bees 🐝.

          A tasty and multifaceted outing
This was a terrific tour, featuring scenic stops, an informative and hands-on experience at a coffee roastery, and an olive oil tasting at an olive farm. Janice was a very pleasant guide who knows the local area and took us to tasty spots for an Italian lunch and for gelato.

          An unforgettable day
Our guide, Dean, did an outstanding job telling us about our stops. He was knowledgeable and congenital. We learned so much and tasted such delicious food and wines. The tour was well worth the price!

Wonders of Wellington via Kaewa Tours and guide Tom Collier.
My husband and I were traveling with another couple (friends) and we had some doubts about signing up for a tour which included a couple of stops we were not interested in, but Tom Collier was immediately agreeable to adjusting the planned schedule to suit our preferences. Tom was knowledgeable about every site we visited, took good photos along the way, and was great fun to be with. We like to find our own way around cities to see the sights, but this tour allowed us to see sights that are less accessible without a car, such as Evans Bay and the suburbs of Seatoun and Brooklyn. A sidenote: one of our group left his jacket in Tom's car and Tom was most gracious about returning the jacket to our hotel. We all were thrilled that the day was full of interesting sites and incredible views, and that our guide, Tom Collier, was a delightful guide/companion.

          A DAY TO REMEMBER
I always try to find companies who are happy to take on solo travellers. It’s not my fault that I’m travelling alone any more so I welcome being taken on board, especially when I’m happy to pay the premium that goes with it. Tom an Kaewa Tours we’re happy to do this. He contacted me almost straight away after making my booking and I appreciated that greatly. Then, when two days out, he hit a snag but he contacted me immediately to ask whether my plans were flexible enough to change. When I replied that it was not possible, he just said he would find some way to honour my original booking, no sweat. What more could anyone ask? A man who keeps his promise has my instant respect. He organised another guide, Simon. This was a master stroke … A big rugby and cricket fan and we were best mates right away. Coincidental, yes, but, hey, it works … that beside though, he knew his home city like the back of his hand. Simon was a brilliant guide. He was friendly and knowledgeable, a man of good humour and nothing was a problem. I saw the city with the help of a Wellingtonian born and bred. Every sight was interesting and informatively presented, lunch was included at a lovely seaside eatery and the time just flew by as he guided me round this beautiful place, making my first day ever in it completely memorable. If you’re looking for a personalised tour of Wellington then look no further than Kaewa Tours. They deserve to succeed on this quite magnificent day that I was able to enjoy.

          OH A MUST
NEVER have I ever.. written a review part way through a tour but this is justified to ensure all would be wine loving travellers to Wellington book this tour. Tom greeted us warmly at our hotel which set the scene well for the day ahead. He takes photos so you don’t have to, he provides so much information and the day so far is just so memorable. How luck are we to have found this tour and more importantly our guide Tom

Martinborough Foodie Delight Tour from Wellington, New Zealand
Martinborough Foodie Delight was an awesome, fantastic, informative day out with our tour guide Janice! We were looking forward to the day and it was above our expectations! Janice pointed out so many extra areas of interest during the day and explained everything so thoroughly….it was a lot more than we expected. We truly felt spoiled by the end of the day which as much as it was a full exciting day…it was over too soon. As a local business Tom from the beginning with his friendly welcoming emails and thank you for supporting a local business really added that personal touch. We just received an email with which totally explained and reviewed exactly what saw and and did that day…a day we will remember for a very very long time. As retired dairy farmers from Canada, supporting local is always number 1 too us. THANK YOU AGAIN JANICE!!!! What a great day we had …you made us feel like family 🥰

          Fun and delicious!
What a great tour! Tom was a great tor guide and chose really interesting places for the tour. My favorite part was roasting our own coffee beans. Pete at the roastery has built an amazing business. We also had a Sicilian lunch, a French cheese tasting and a beer tasting. All of the locations were so good and everything was delicious. Thanks Tom for a wonderful experience and fun day!

Great tour when in Wellington, good for cruise passengers.
Absolutely fantastic tour with Tom! We had a full day off the cruise ship, explored all of Wellington with sites we never thought we would see. Tom is knowledgeable and personable, navigating the streets we could not hope to drive ourselves on! Had a fabulous time, private tour for two couples. Highly recommended.

Come for the coffee, olive oil and crafted cider…delicious!
Fabulously informative and friendly guided tour of local coffee roastery, Sicilian restaurant, olive oil and cider producer’s offers. A deep dive into the agricultural challenges and delights of Kapiti with the lovely Janice to steer us along the way. Wonderful to experience the passion and craft of people who care about eating and drinking excellent products. Thank you all!

My friend and I spent some time trying to figure out what the best scenic tour in Wellington, New Zealand is. We are both experienced travelers and we have a good feeling about what is worth your money and time. Tom, a guide and owner of Kaewa tours, provided us with one of the most welcoming and informative tours of Wellington we could not imagine of having. He loves his job and he loves his city and he will show you everything you have planned on seeing plus more. He is very professional but also a nice and friendly person. We would have not been able to see and fall in love with Wellington if it wasn't for Tom. Thanks to him we are planning on going back and revisit New Zealand. We offers a wide range of tours around. We highly recommend his business!!!

The tour was fascinating, including sightseeing along the coast, wine tasting, lunch and even a drive thru Wellington. As delightful as the tour was, it was our guide, Tom Collier, who really made it special. He is everything you would hope for in a tour guide- entertaining, knowledgeable, friendly, a very good driver and very responsive to our particular interests. We highly recommend the tour and, especially, Tom Collier.

What a great day we had with the lovely Tom Collier of Kaewa Tours. It was a great itinerary - a full day, but easy going so nothing felt rushed. Tom is a mine of information and nothing is too much trouble for him. What makes this a great tour is that it's "bespoke" in the way that he focuses on individual groups rather than large mixed groups so my husband and I enjoyed our day with just ourselves and Tom. All the sightseeing/visit stops are different in their own way so nothing was repetitive. The lunch platter at Poppies vineyard was superb - a "must-do", and the cheese and chocolate shops were irresistible. The 2nd wine tasting at Cellar Door was informative and not too long which is great. Cape Palliser Lighthouse felt like NZ's answer to Cape Horn (if you've been to Cape Horn you'll know what I mean!), and the Seal Colony and iconic Ngawi beach topped off the day. Finishing with fish and chips at the Lake Ferry Hotel brought this perfect day to an end. Thanks Tom for your great guiding and lovely company.

Thank you so much to the amazing Tom Collier who made our day one to cherish for a very long time. Tom is a very warm, friendly, caring person. And we got along well straight from the beginning. He is very professional and sticks to his itinerary well including his OH&S duty of care. He goes over and beyond what is on the activity sheet.

He doesn't seem like he was working when he was with us. He was really enjoying what he does and it made us feel that we have a long time friend we haven't seen for long while who is just taking us for a joy ride around Wairarapa and his personal favourite places.

He was equally disappointed that the weather wasn't on our side when we reached the summit 555 and we couldn't take pictures. Likewise, the C'est cheese tasting closed before we reached the place and he was not happy that we didn't get to experience this.

It was quite late when we got back to Wellington. However, he went over and beyond to take us for an extra drive around town to Wellington's best kept secret spaces. Amazing! And really enjoyable.

Our best moments includes Honey tasting at Greytown, lunch at Poppies, Cape Palliser lighthouse, watching seals at the seal colony and of course, Rivendell (Lord of the Rings location set), which I originally thought was just a fantasy land.

The big bonus was he brought his Canon DLSR professional camera with him and happily took candid pictures of us (with our permission, of course) to fully document our happy day.

Again, thank you so so much Tom and Kaewa Tours for an incredible 5 star experience. You rock!

The tour guide was very polite and attentive to each location. There were exchanges and brief introductions along the way, especially to the distant seal habitat and lighthouse. The seaside scenery was excellent and the trip was pleasant. At the end, the tour guide gave me a gift chosen by my wife before leaving. I really appreciate his kindness.

If you are going to Wellington, you need to hire these people as your tour guides. Gina took us to the light house, to see the seals, to a winery—everything was perfect. She tailored the tour to our wants and needs. She was fabulous. The area is so beautiful and worth spending the day exploring. I cannot imagine how any other company could have provided better service.

It was a fantastic day! The views while driving were amazing and Tom pointed out so many interesting things. There was a bit of everything. A relaxing lunch at a winery, a lighthouse and seal colony, and a small trek into a park to see a Lord of the Rings filming site. It was a wonderful way to relax and enjoy how awesome New Zealand is!

I trust you all had a fabulous time at Maddie's wedding and that you had a safe trip home to the States. Thanks again for booking with me. It was an absolute pleasure hosting you all. Best wishes and take care, Tom

Relaxed day chocka full of food, wine and beautiful scenery. We saw so much in a few hours. So many outstanding boutique businesses in this lovely area I need to come back and explore more! Thanks Tom, you were the perfect host and ambassador.

Thank you very much for your kind words and thanks for taking the time to post up your review. It was my pleasure hosting the Orewa/Whangaparaoa team for the day. I'm pleased you all had an enjoyable time away in Wellington for WOW and took the opportunity to explore the fabulous South Wairarapa. Best wishes, Tom
