      Amazing staff and awesome ebikes
Staff is very friendly, super helpful and they go the extra mile. The bikes have a big satchel at the back so no need to bring backpack. The easy hop-on/off have 3 speed levels while the other bikes have turbo mode which goes quite fast.

      An enjoyable eBike Guided Tour
I thoroughly enjoyed my bike ride with the guide Kali. She was very knowledgeable and provided an informative commentary of the landmarks, statues and artwork in Wellington. The bike was easy to operate on the flat tracks and also going up hill. Kali was able to help me with the controlling of gears. It was an added bonus of having the guided tour on my own -treated like a VIP. The gelato on the way back in Oriental Bay was a refreshing treat. I highly recommend the Guided Sightseeing Tour by Electric Bike. I now want to get myself an eBike. It was a great three hours.

      Great ride around Wellington.
Great bikes, great tour guide Jack (not Jake ;-) ) Just a short walk from the cruise ship shuttle drop off point. Overall a great tour at a much better price than the cruise companies charge.

      Great way to see Wellington
Fabulous tour--we toured past many sites in Wellington. We got some great views, great info shared by the tour guide and it ended with ice cream. Perfect way to get a taste of the city.

      Awesome ocean ride
Amazing tour along the oceanfront of Wellington. Our guide Jack was very knowledgeable and friendly. Stopped frequently to share the history of different areas. We both had experience on e-bikes but would have been fun for a beginner too.

I rented one of the smaller e-bikes for the day , went all along the beautiful coast to Shelly bat and before that up to the lookout on Mt Victoria! I had a super day the bike ran very well the turbo option was great for up the steep parts, it’s a great was to see Wellington and areas if you don’t have a car. Check in and our was a breeze with switched on bikes.

Ebike experience not to be missed!
It was a beautiful day in Wellington, sunny and not too windy. The guide took us around the wharf up to a lookout and back. He stopped often at various landmarks and shared some history about them. There was a great bike path so we didn't have to ride in the crazy traffic. Because we listened to our guide and didn't run anyone over, he treated us to a cone at the end of the ride. Ebiking with Switched on Bikes was well worth the price. Awesome guide!

      Ride against the winds
Wellington is in fact quite a windy area and you realize this especially on the bike. The electric support was helpful against the winds and also essential for the last route up the hill. I've never got an ebike as comfortable and modern as on this tour.

Electric mountain bikes on a some great mountain tracks.
Hired full suspension mountain bikes to go to Makara Peak mountain park. Bikes were in good condition. Staff very friendly and helpful. Made sure bikes were ready to go. Went through controls to make sure we were happy with everything. Web site was easy to use. Definitely use again.

Nice way to see the city and the coast.
We enjoyed this e-bike rental, and doing the recommended route along the coast was great. We booked through TA, and I rescheduled in an effort to select a day with a decent weather forecast, but things can change quickly in Wellington, and the day ended up being very gray and windy with a touch of rain. If you don't book ahead, you run the risk of not getting a bike, but for the days we were in town, there were always some bikes available. I asked one of the employees about the need to make reservations in advance and he said that on weekends when cruise ships are in, it is common to sell out. While we had fun and enjoyed ourselves, I think if I had to do it again (especially if I was in Wellington for a few days), I would not book ahead, as it would have been so much nicer if it had been an nice day.

We had a wonderful four hours of easy biking. Going up Mt Victoria was no trouble at all and, when the wind came up later on, we were very grateful for the electric boost we had so that we didn't have to pedal into the wind. We highly recommend this company as the whole process was so easy, from booking online to the information given about the bikes and routes. They were also very accommodating when we had to reschedule our initial reservation - nothing seemed to be a problem. This is a well-oiled machine! Thanks so much to everyone at Switched On Bikes for the wonderful experience.

E-Bikes are great in a headwind, something you're 90% certain to encounter in Wgtn!
Wgtn motorists are generally used to sharing the road, unlike the region we visited from : ( so safety in traffic wasn't so much of an issue.
The crew at Switched On are great, good advice about routes and selecting/setting up the bikes for us.
Highly recommended if you want to cover some ground, be independent, and have some fun.

    What a great little adventure.
Thoroughly enjoyed our bike around Oriental Parade and the bays and then out past the airport to Seatoun and back .
36 kms made so much easier , especially with the rather stiff breeze coming back round the bays. Turbo ride was awesome !!
We would definitely do this again not just because it was a fun thing to do but also because of the service we received from the friendly staff. They were helpful and explained things well and the bikes were comfortable and had been serviced and looked after well. Also the ease of booking and great communication I give top marks!
    A must do - it's fun !

What a great way to see the sights of Wellington - climbing easily to the top of Mt Victoria and then cycling around the beautiful bays. The e bike made the experience really enjoyable and relaxing because the wind and gradient were no problem.

As well, Ryan, the shop owner, was friendly and helpful. He found the right size bike for me, made any necessary adjustments and gave clear, easy instructions on how to use the bike. The bike was modern, in excellent repair and came with a carrier bag and sturdy lock.

    Highly recommended.

An awesome way to explore Wellington. Cycling in and out of picturesque bays while also stopping at landmarks and points of interest. The electric bike made this tour a dream, especially when riding uphill. We absolutely loved this tour.

We had an amazing bike trip with Switched on Bikes. The rental office was easy to find. Everyone at the bike rental were very helpful. Fitted our bikes and helmet and gave us a little bike around to make sure the bikes were working well. Than gave lots of options and ideas as to where to bike. We explored the coastline went in to the Weta Cave than for lunch at Shelly Bay Chocolate Fish Cafe EXCELLENT. Ended up biking all day SO FUN
    Thank-You Switched on Bikes

Outstanding tour! And great value! Genevieve was super knowledgeable, attentive and personable. Loved her stories and felt so comfortable with her guiding us. We all enjoyed riding these superbly fun bikes. Loved the break at the quaint coffee place with the chocolate fish. The food was amazing there as well. A must do to get you climatized to the area!

Hired 4 bikes from Switched on Bikes in Wellington on Boxing Day and circumnavigated the coast as advised by Ryan. Was a really beautiful ride (33ks) and mainly flat bike friendly paths & roads with beautiful scenery. We were only in Wellington for the day off a cruise ship and I booked it all online beforehand. Very simple and good idea to hire electric bikes for the kids. Highly recommend this experience even for novice bike riders.

We’re locals but wanted a fun day out with our young son. Hired a bike, and bike seat for a 16-month old and off we went! Really helpful staff member, and they supplied safe gear including helmet and well-maintained bike and child seat. Highly recommend

The team at Switched on Bikes are awesome and my family all enjoy an easy tour of the harbour on the bikes. We had to reschedule several times for various reasons but Ryan and the team were really understanding and flexible. We are looking forward to booking in another trip soon. Highly recommend.
