      Can't remember getting home!!
This tour was awesome.. Stella took us around some great Cocktail bars and we tried some new and some favourite cocktails. Really laid back and enjoyable time. Problem was after Dinner, when we knew where the cocktail bars were on the way home.. and how good the cocktails were!! Took me a day to recover!! 🤣

      Fantastic Cocktail Tour
Jon and Peter were excellent hosts. Wellington has some very cool tucked-away bars and venues. The highlight was to see a different side of the city I have lived in for 20 years. We enjoyed 8 or more split cocktails which was a great way to have a small amount of each. Great way to start a night in town and a great way to end a long day of work. This tour is classy and very non-pretentious. You get an insider's take on the hosptitality scene in Welly, Jon has a great reputation and knows exactly where to go! Highly recommend.

      Queen's birthday tour
Jon provided us with an intimate food tour for just the 2 of us. He was easy to get on with, very knowledgeable about the food and hospitality in wellington. He personalized the tours for us and took us to multiple locations inside and outside the CBD, all the latest fads. Highly recommended as a relaxing day out, with a knowledgeable and friendly guide.

Great food, great guide and a great day out
The half day food odyssey tour was brilliant - Jon was super friendly and knowledgeable on a variety of subjects. From food to history it was a great way to spend the morning and we were lucky enough to be the only ones on the tour! Highly recommend if you need to get a feel of Wellington or even if you’re long time residents who want to see what you’ve been missing!

Best tour guide we've ever had!
Most of the time when I feel a distinct urge to write a review for a product, company, or service, the experience has been woefully negative. The Wellington Food and Spice Odyssey shatters that tradition by providing one of the most enjoyable experiences during my 15 days in New Zealand. The perfect traveler would have an old friend conveniently stationed at every city that he or she could possibly travel to, serving as an easy and relaxed way to find the best spots. This friend would cut the crap and head directly to where THEY like- what's interesting? What's consistently good? What is that one bar that you show your friend who only has a night in town? Our Guide, Jon, met us promptly at a the designated address on time. Dressed smartly, but with no uniform or touristy tackiness, he introduced himself and got straight to it! Without being overbearing or strange, Jon swept us around the city, guiding us to a number of bars in the area. Each location had a bartender waiting to explain their choice cocktail to us- and had saved us prime seats to watch and ask questions! Jon suggested at the beginning that no cocktail would be similar to each other. With some of the bars providing multiple tastings, its seemed like quite a stretch! To our surprise, every single drink was unique and special in its own way. As we left each hidden building and moved on to the next one, Jon took charge, expertly identifying our interests and catering his thoughts and information about Wellington to his guests- now his old friends. As he opened the door to the next bar, we are swept into a new world that we would never would have found on our own. Jon stepped aside, inviting the expert behind the bar to impress and delight with his craft. When the mixologist was finished, Jon took the reigns once again, steering our cocktail cruise to a successful voyage- Onward on our Objectively Outstanding Odyssey. Odyssey has clearly developed real and meaningful relationships with the cocktail bars that he brings guests to. At no point did this feel like a cookie from a box. Please- stop reading reviews and ratings and book this tour!

A fortnight's experiences in a long half day
Thank you so much Jon. Perfect day of ge uinely interesting and tasty food and drink experiences and informative touring of so many Wellington highlights. So well organized and balanced we didn't feel rushed ...or bored. From truly good coffee to 360 degree views to 'best pies in NZ (the world?)' to Greek, Asian, chocolate delights to art deco to WATA Cave to craft beers... all with cheerful, knowledgeable- with a touch of dry humour- commentary from Jon. Thank you very much.5 stars for everything.

      Lovely Host and Delicious Food
Our tour guide was incredibly accommodating to however we wanted to go about the tour and in whatever order, always open for a chat about anything while cracking a few jokes in the process. The food stops were amazing, with the owners/chefs being the most interesting part of the foodie experience. Just talking to them and listening to their passion for food and drink was well worth it. Highly Recommended.

We had a great time on the Walking Food Tour of Wellington. Our guide, Jon, took us to places that we normally would walk past or would not have known that they existed.

The tour began with coffee and scones, followed by a a local butcher shop for lamb chops and a fish market. Then we tried to a Chinese restaurant for dumplings, a kombucha shop, an Argentine/Italian restaurant, and finally an ice cream shop. We sampled the food at each location.

Jon has great local knowledge which he freely shares.

I had different expectations for this tour. The tour guide, Jon, was nice and quick with some local knowledge of the area we were in but the food was not great. Since we were in Wellington, I expected the food tour to feature New Zealand cuisine (lamb, beef wellington, or some other new zealand dishes.). It did not. We sampled food from vietnamese, korean and indian restaurants. None of the restaurants were that good. They were certainly places I would not have gone to on my own, so in that respect, it did broaden my experience somewhat. But they are not places I'd go back to either, so tour was of limited value.

OMG! this was exceptional. Once again Jon knew all the little places to take us to and was so passionate about each and one of them as he had built a good rapport with the owners. It was meant to be a half day tour but Jon kindly extended it to a full day. I have never been to so many places and all very very good, so yummy!. Thought my stomach was going to explode. This is also so well worth the experience of trying some of the fabulous eateries Wellington has to offer. Thanks again Jon for an amazing day

“As long-time residents of Wellington, we thought that we had a pretty good knowledge of the Capitals great eateries, and unique food experiences. How wrong we were!
On our walking/eating/drinking tour, Jon took us down back streets and side alleyways that we didn’t even know existed. He introduced us to some wonderful food and coffee experiences. Some were so good, we will definitely revisit. A great investment.”

Had a delightful experience on our Walking Food Tour of Wellington today with our knowledgeable guide Jon and his friend Peter. We thoroughly enjoyed all the offerings which were orange infused coffee with chocolate...grilled coconut jam sandwiches...brick oven baked bagels with avocado, tomatoes, and basil...crumbed fish and chips...a grilled lamb chop...a kimchi pancake...pork and chicken boa buns...and gelato! Not only was the food delicious, it was nice to become more acquainted with Wellington which is a lovely city. Can’t recommend this tour high enough. A must do for any tourist, especially those who love to eat!
