      Memorable family trip
We had a private charter for a large family group of 21 people. It was an amazing way to show all of the overseas family the beautiful Bay of Islands. Skipper Nick was excellent and knowledgeable. Everyone loved the trip, thank you

      Great Experience
A must to do. Trip advisor kept us well updated. The crew of the boat were very nice and polite. We managed to go through the hole in the rock as conditions permitted. We were lucky to see several Dolphins. Would highly recommend going with Bluebridge.

Day cruise around the bay of islands
We had a fantastic time, it was a beautiful cruise, and we even tried paddle boarding and snorkelling for the first time. Our hosts, Nicola and Zac were great and really looked after us. Would highly recommend this trip

What a fabulous experience. Zac was our tour operator who was informative and experienced out on the water. The hike has a load of stairs but worth the view at the top. The swim stop was a gorgeous place that we didn't want to leave. Most of our tour went snorkeling, with a few who tried stand up paddleboarding. There were only 22 on our tour which is the perfect number.

A wonderful adventure for the whole family. A great way to get tiff the mainland and see the wonderful Bay of Islands. The snorkelling and paddle boarding was also a highlight for our family. Friendly and knowledgeable staff. We definitely recommend this as a must do experience.

The best Bay of Islands hole in the rock cruise.
Right from booking our trip we were treated well with a discount for our family of 4. We couldn’t have asked for better service, our trip was amazing with stories of the area, penguins, schools of fish, bird life and amazing dolphins. Island visits with an incredible lookout and to top it off snorkelling, made our day so memorable. The crew were perfect and friendly, so grateful.

Highly recommend for seeing the Bay of Islands
Nick and Leon were excellent tour guides who clearly explained some of the interesting history behind the Bay of Islands. The activities were an excellent addition as we enjoyed seeing the marine life close-up while snorkelling, as well as giving paddleboarding a go. Overall, this is a fantastic experience for gaining a glimpse into the Islands while having a bit of fun. We even saw some dolphins (although this was not intentional). Do keep in mind that the experience is 3.5 hours long, so it will not be for everyone if you are looking to spend a whole day exploring

      Very recommendable
Truly a great experience. The crew was extremely welcoming and gave interesting infos on the islands and the region. The stops, especially roberton island, were beautiful and with a good timeframe. The boat is not a big as other companies so we had a less crowded experience. For the boat transfer I recommend wind resistent jackets but the crew provided blankets. All in all a very nice trip

Wonderful half-day cruise with fantastic views of Bay of Islands!
An excellent half-day excursion out of Paihia or Russel. Island Gateway Tours is a wonderful locally-owned and operated cruise. Skipper (Hashim? - please make spelling corrections) and staff (Trisha, Nicola and Floppy?- corrections?) were informative and congenial and they seem to truly love what they do each day. Cruise was well paced with a variety of activities and scenic views with nice narrative of history. We were even able to cruise through the Hole-in-the-Rock (tide-dependent, I think). If you take the mid-morning tour out of Paihia, consider ending your day with an afternoon tour/evening sunset meal in town of Russel and then take water taxi/ferry back to Paihia after sunset. Only suggestion for Island Gateway: a more detailed description of track up to vista at first island stop. Skipper was correct (10 minutes), but only for those who are fit. Track is steep, with lots of steps. We had no problem, but others on cruise may have been surprised at effort needed, and were a few minutes late to returning to vessel, perhaps due to this.

      Excellent trip
We had an excellent trip with Island GetawayTours. We did the 4.5 hr trip as a cruise shore excursion (but organised independently from the cruise ship). Staff were freindly, heplful and attentive. We visited the Hole in the rock Roberton and Urupukapuka Islands. BYO lunch, although there is a cafe at Otehei bay on Urupukapkua Island.

      One of the best!
I had one of the best memories with my family visiting Paihia and doing this tour! The crews (Lynn and Tedd) were very helpful throughout the tour. My brother and I was doing paddleboarding and was pushed away by the strong wind and big waves but fortunately Lynn was there to accommodate us back to shore. Appreciate it Lynn! All in all, I would give this tour a 11/10!

A must do trip for the Bay of Islands
Had a fantastic time on this half-day tour! The Staff was super professional and casually funny. Very attentive and always just seconds away to help open and close the clear windows if the sea spray or rain was too much. With multiple stops along the way, it was great to see an assortment of islands and the hikes/wildlife. I had forgotten about the snorkeling option on the second island stop and would remind everyone to bring a swimsuit. The boat was super clean and we even got blankets to keep us warm. A reminder that this tour is on the ocean and there were a few rougher spots as some of the islands are more exposed to the ocean but the staff was great at making us feel at ease. To maximize comfort I recomend taking your favorite motion sickness remedies beforehand. The actual hole in the rock is very impressive and we were lucky enough to see a penguin as well as many interesting fish and birds out on the water. I'll recommend this to everyone.

If you are visiting the Bay of Islands, I'd put this at the top of the list of things to do. You get an incredible day out and the tour is considerably cheaper than most of the tours offered by other companies.
Lin and Jake did an amazing job of making everyone feel welcome and as result everyone on board were happy getting to know and talk teach each other throughout the day. They both have a really good knowledge of the area to learn new things along the away.
The islands they take you to are amazing. One of them had another small tour group and the second island we had completely to ourselves. It was great being at spots which weren't packed with people and we could enjoy to ourselves.
The islands are stunning, water is beautiful and you get to see plenty of wildlife
along the way. There's fun activities to do, coffee, biscuits and tea.
If you are in the area, do this tour. You won't be disappointed!

This was a fabulous day out. Wayne and Bluebell were superb hosts and ensured we both had a great time
Lots of detailed information en route to a variety of Islands, opportunities to paddle board and snorkel during a 2hour break on a beautiful island beach and an interesting talk about sea urchins !
One of our best days in NZ so far
This was excellent value for money and I would highly recommend it.

We had a great time on the Island Tour and are really happy we went for the 5 hour tour. The time flew by and was a great way to check out the sights and also relax on the beach. The staff (Lin and Eloise) were very relaxed and friendly, and also gave us the full Kiwi experience. The experience was well worth the money and I would definitely recommend it to everyone going to the Bay of Islands.

This was the second time I've booked a Sea Shuttle trip while on holiday in Paihia and I will absolutely do it again! Linford and Blue were amazing hosts and provided the best experience. You learn a fair bit about the history of New Zealand and the Bay of Islands and even about some of the local wildlife. During the trip, you stop at different islands and are given time to explore, paddle board, snorkel, and have a bite to eat. The trip isn't too long or too short and has a perfect pace of activities vs downtime. The Sea Shuttle crew are sincerely the nicest and most professional people and I'm definitely looking forward to booking another trip the next time I'm in Paihia!

We had the best time on this excursion! It was very comfortable and relaxing. We hiked to lookout points, explored desolate beaches, snorkeled, SUP’d and saw what felt like the entire bay of islands. The best part was our tour guide, Lin, who made everyone feel welcome, safe and like we learned a good bit about the area. I would highly recommend this tour to anyone. Thanks again Lin!

We all enjoyed the cruise and tried to come up with what was missing. Cold drinks for morning tea? That very minor point aside our guide Linford was informative and seemed genuinely interested in our enjoyment. We appreciated the time available to relax, explore or partake in water activities at our second main stop and our exploration of the islands. A very relaxing last day in Northland for all four of us. Highly recommended.

My husband and I loved this trip! Our guides/captain gave us a wonderful tour of the islands with stops to:
    1. Walk up to a lookout on one island (we saw a kiwi bird on this walk which brought tears to the eyes of a native NZer on the trip who had never seen one in the wild before)
    2. Snorkel and hike a bit and have lunch on a different island
    3. Look for marine life in the ocean and enjoy a day out on the water
Highly recommended. You can either bring your own lunch or pay for the very good one they provide. A great way to enjoy a beautiful part of New Zealand!

What a fun afternoon in the beautiful Bay of Islands!
We were met by our super friendly guide Nic and taken out to the beautiful bay. Stopped on Robertson Island for some history and stunning views. Then on to a sheltered bay for play time snorkelling, paddle-boarding and enjoying the stunning bay. Loved the smaller more personalised experience - would HIGHLY RECOMMEND
