      Perfect trip and experience
Excellent trip. Great guide and equipment, really enjoyed the experience!!! We were able to visit the waterfall and experience it up close!!!!! enjoyed learning the history of the area and even got to explore some of the mangroves growing along the river and view wildlife.

For kayak newbies that we are, we felt very safe and at the same time had the adventure of our life ! It is an exciting one -- there are pit stops so we can rest, interesting stories about the area being shared, awesome bird sighting, and kayak challenges like going isnide the mangroves and of course, conquering Haruru falls (it is optional, but when you see it, you will decide to go for it).

Nice and friendly guides, wonderful experience and very supportive guys who ran the tour. Changed the schedule in time because of low tide.

      Excellent activity
We booked this activity late the night before and Taylor messaged us immediately with availability which was perfect. We met at the boat ramp and soon boarded a small boat which took us and the kayaks up the river. We were given lots of information about our beautiful surroundings which was very interesting. After climbing into our kayaks we paddled up the river to a magnificent waterfall and spent lots of time there. The brave among us went under the waterfall and got very wet. Afterwards we paddled back down the river, got back on the boat and headed back to the boat ramp. This was a very enjoyable activity and the instructors were professional but friendly. You do get wet so need to dress appropriately and take a towel. Well worth doing.

      Great kayaking through the waterfall
It was a wonderful experience, we all enjoyed it very much. We started sightseeing on the boat, then jumped on the kayak. The tour guide Nathan and Don were great. We're able to get to know the history and Maori background of these area. The highlight was kayaking through the waterfall 💦 it was soooo fun!!! Remember to put your luggage on the boat as you will be getting wet. High recommend to anymore.

      Kayaking under the falls
Dan and Nathan were great hosts on the boat. My elderly mother was able to come along and stay on the boat while we kayaked. Really enjoyed kayaking through the mangroves and up close to the waterfall and then going under the falls. Would have liked a bit more opportunity to look for wildlife and birds.

It was soon time for use to go back to the ship but we had a great day out! Would definitely like to spend more Than 7 hours there ... maybe ( days & visit the top/north island of New Zealand! Lovely social place.

Bay of Islands Boat Cruise from Paihia
Paihia is a quaint little township that is the gateway to the Bay of Islands at NZ. A boat cruise operated by Great Sights takes you to first Russell Port which was the first capital of NZ and where Captain Cook made his landfall. Then the boat takes you around the bay till the Hole in the Rock, a natural rock formation and if you are lucky you sight the playful dolphins in plenty, sometimes a whale too. A beautiful scenic experience of blue water body and the various surrounding features. We had the chance to see a replica of Captain Cooks sail ship that was anchored for some celebrations of his exploration of NZ.

      Wonderful Day on Explore
Loved our boat trip around the Bay of Islands. Nice catamaran, comfy seats and pleasant staff. Hole in the Rock was amazing. Good commentary and stopped to watch the dolphins too! Nice lunch at Otehei Bay. In spite of a little rain it was a superb day

      An outdoors must do!
Wonderful experience! Our boat skipper and guide warmly greeted us and was full of charm and information through the entire journey. We took the night trip which I highly recommend. The boat trip out was calm and gorgeous, and kayaking in the mangroves was gorgeous. Paddling behind the waterfall seemed somewhat insane at first, but exhilarating and lots of fun. They take photos to capture your adventure, and I was happy to pay for some amazing snaps. Thanks guys!

      Funny
We booked the waterfall tour in the sunset in December. The skipper was Ben. We were also escorted by a woman on a stand-up paddle board. Both were fantastic and deserve 5/5 stars! Still, I only give 4/5 stars, because for me the price-performance ratio was the most disappointing tour in 3 months New Zealand. The distance you put back was relatively short, there was no splash guard or similar, the waterfall was different than the pictures suggest and relatively small. All in all it was a nice trip but for what you get a bit overpriced. For people who can not kayak well the tour is recommended. For people who would like to travel longer distances and visit both islands, I would rather advise renting a kayak in Abel Tasman.

We had a great trip with Taylor. We were the only ones that booked the morning tour. Instead of reschedule us Taylor was happy to ake us on the tour.

Really nice guy, very interessted in the people that join him on the boat. Showed us many pretty spaces and told great stories before heading to the falls.

It was really cool the see the waterfall from a different perspective.

We would really recommend this tour. It has small groups and a really personal feeling. You can tell they have a passion for the area and are not just in this for making money on tourist as some tours do.

Kayaking to the waterfall was fun. The guide and driver were both lovely and knew a lot about the area. They made sure we were out of the wind and in a calm spot before going into our kayaks. We were suppose to go on the sunset/ night cruise but that got cancelled due to the unexpected early arrival of one of the guides baby, but we were able to go on the morning cruise the next day. They refunded the difference straight away. Would recommend the trip to anyone.

This is a fantastic experience. Taylor, our host and guide, was very welcoming, friendly and knowledgeable. He was born here and clearly loved this special part of the region. The experience was well organised, safe, and provided a unique opportunity to get up close with the stunning environment. All equipment provided to ensure a fun and safe experience on the water.

Our family planned this for the first morning we arrived in Paihia and ended up being the highlight of our whole trip! Not only was the scenery beautiful, the knowledge fascinating but by the end of the trip you feel that Dan and Ace were your mates. They were so much fun and full of so much good information that we learned and had fun. Relaxing, entertaining, and awesome! A must Do!

Had such a great time on our trip. We were given the option of double or single, which we went with single as teen daughters wanted to be on their own 😆
Loved every minute of it and loved hearing the Māori culture.
The kayaking was fun and not too strenuous…..until you reach the waterfall! Then it’s up to you how close and hard you want to work. We loved being able to jump out and go behind the falls and then swim under them.
Our guide and driver were both so knowledgeable, helpful and really entertaining!
Nice small group of our family (4) and another couple.
Only downside is as usual we would have liked longer!

Dan & Ace were fantastic guides, they provided so much information about the local environment. But the highlight was Dan & Ace sense of humour & adventure. Our tween-age girls had a ball. Highly recommend :)

Great day out with friends who don't have much kayaking experience. Ben is very friendly and knowledgable about the area and birds.
A cruise on his boat for 15 mins, then off to kayaking to the waterfall.

The waterfall is not as impressive as it looks on photo....to me its not really a waterfall....

The tour is perfect for those who don't have any kayaking experience at all..but for those who has previous experience, its better off to rent your own sea kayak and find your way (just followed the river and you'll reach the waterfall!) or go to other island instead.

Great fun for all the family. We were a party of 6 and booked in true kiwi style: last minute. We had a fab time with Ben and Kelly. Highly recommend the 4:00pm cruise because it isn't scorching hot but you still have the sun to warm you up on the way back, once you tested the waterfall and capsizing!!!

    Beach Cleanup,
that sounds like hard work and not a lot of fun....
    Totally different!!
It was by far one of the best days out in the bay if islands i`ve ever had.
we were an small group of people and went to amazing remote beaches picking up rubbish and washed up stuff. it was like doing a beachwalk with a good purpose.
during the cleaning we learned a lot about nature, and how we can safe the enviroment from getting destroyed.
We endet up having a nice picknick on the beach under a tree and having a little break from the "hard work" with a washed up rugby ball we found.
All in all, the ammount of rubbish we collected was huge for the ammount of time, and we had a amazing day out!
the crew was amazing informative and friendly.
thank you so much for this Kiwi-experience the different way!!
    cheers,
    ben
